this whole album is such a gem. i mean, typically albums have some tracks i like and some i don't... but this album man, i could blast every single track for hours and never ever get fucking tired of any of them, it's just crazy
Center of Attention is in my top 10 favorite hip hop records of all time! Absolutely flawless production! My favorite sample flip has to be No More Words.
It's crazy how sometimes the original songs, the samples themselves will evoke the nostalgia even more than the song sampling it. This record is my all time 1#
This whole album is gold, each and every song. From the rhymes to the samples to the producer. The catalogue that Pete Rock used on this album is astounding! Been jammin' to this album for a long time.
@@the_moment_work Agreed, sometimes it's just the tiniest part. I suggest albums from the "Hieroglyphics" crew next. Souls of Mischief, Del The Funky Homosapien, Casual, etc
Just arrived from your Ahmad Jamal sample video with a fresh cup of coffee. My deep dive into hip-hop started in high school jamming to what was essentially the Pete Rock production catalogue. This album and Main Ingredient came to be the defining sound of that time in my life. Listening to this adds a whole new dimension to the album. Thank you again
Good grief this video should be played in a museum. A work of art. What a masterful video compilation of a album musically a 10. You have a true appreciation for the craft of sampling.
a Pete Rock classic… got this LP on vinyl… Center of Attention, What You Say, Fakin Jax, Step Up… INI rocked the spot… dope album… thanks for another nice breakdown 👍🏻
Incredible stuff man....your breakdowns are like a list of my all time favorite...Stakes is High, The Main Ingredient, Low End Theory, etc As a request, would you consider doing one of these for. Binary Star - Masters of the Universe??
BROOO no way, what a coincidence, your're a true G man. Really wish you followed the OG test pressing that leaked back in 2012, the "official" version from 2003 doesn't have Pete or any of InI's approval and is missing all of Pete's dope interludes :-( Big "Props" for including Keep On though. I know your a true Hip-Hop head and know your shit :-)
this was such a dope album, man, the genius of PR and the group's lyrics...was waiting for an InI album since Fakin Jax and was so glad when PR finally put it out. And to hear the samples now? Pete is and will always be a genius.
I Think Y'all Should Breakdown The Samples Of The Original Baby Pa By Deda Next, Pete Rock Was Really In His Bag When He Produced That Record, Him And Grap Luva
This outrageous some people are saying Pete rock only Graph luvah had alot to do with the beats n overall production of this album Give graph luvah his respect
Too much. Thank you - this video is an eye opener. I have played this album hundreds of time and not made the connect with some of samples. Whoever made this video, and did the research, has my respect!
