Thank you for the great video brother!! I flip appliances and have the same dryer with the same problem. Will go and double check. This video will absolutely help a lot of techs out there.
Nice info man. Much appreciated! My dryer originally would not stop running after the cycle was done so I had to leave the door open. Taking advice from other posts, I removed the control board, unplugged all the harnesses, tapped on the relay and reassembled. Now I have nothing....lol. I will use this info tonight after work, but I suspect that the main board is the culprit. Thanks again!
I had a mechanical timer dryer but my dad sold it and we have the Maytag dryer with a electric main board that counts by minutes. It’s been working very good since 5 years ago we got it
Great channel very active in the comment section very professional. I replaced my main board and then 3 days later it lost power again.. what could be causing my dryer to kill boards? Thermal fuse has continuity. Don't know where to trace the problem
you didn't say which pins for the 13vdc I have a brand new board and still no power to front panel. Had 120VAC on motor relay nothing on heater relay and no 13VDC with new board? Where next?
I have the same problem with my dryer. Tried it with a new board and still nothing so I returned it but the funny thing is it'll start working occasionally for like a month and then it'll stop working and then back on again. What can cause it to do that?
Tested voltage to the back of the dryer and everything checks out. When I test the main control board voltage using the brown and black wire you described I get nothing. Bad cable?
Thanks for the info! My samsung dryer started off with the dryer continuing to spin after the dry cycle was over. had a power outage which seemed to fix the problem. A while later everything seemed to work except the drum wouldn't spin. Checked door switch and belt switch and both were ok. Bought a rebuilt control board and after it was installed things got worse. Now the control panel won't work or light up. Even with the original board put back in the same thing occurs. No lights or operation on the control panel. There is electric going to the control board but non of the other wire seem to have any juice. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do you have wire diagram for dryer. I am having exact issue and get 12dc voltage and purchase new control Board and it also doesn’t supply the 12vdc at the board but is new. Any way to test board?
having same problem replacedte board, not fixed ordered the control panel hope that fixes it, its getting expensive, need a betterfollow up video, please jj!
I have a Samsung dryer that seems to be an older model than this, but very similar. All white, don't know the exact model as it came with the house. Has been working fine the last year, but recently came down and saw it had "6E" or "bE" code on the display. Samsung says this is a jammed button error, although the buttons appeared to click and depress without issue. They never depressed very much, just slightly with a click. Seemed normal. I reset the breaker, waited a few minutes, tripped the breaker for the dryer back on. A tone sounded from the dryer when power returned to it, but the display hasn't come back, and neither the power button nor any others seem to work or do anything. Goin to try and get the back off, although I have a stacked unit right next to a wall in a rather cramped space. Hoping there might be an easier fix if anyone knows what's going on. Kind of a shot in the dark messaging youtube lol.
Hello. I have no power to my display. Is there anything else that tells the board to send power? I’ve tried new boards and nothing. I’m stumped. Problem started when I did my routine thumping of the motor relay. Any help might save my marriage thanks!
I bought 3 new control boards. No one working. I am in shock. Do you have any idea what can be else? Or do you think 3 of them was defected? MODEL NO. DVG50M7450P A3 SERIAL NO. OAU95BBK800498W
I made an additional problem trying to solve the first. I had an electrician do some remodeling in our house and he ended up tripping a few gfi outlets. The dryer now does not turn the drum (display lights on, hums, but doesn’t turn). I checked the outlet, the 3 wire connection to the back of the dryer (each leg has 120v and 240v across). I checked the belt, broken belt switch, resistance to motor , motor relay, thermo fuse all had proper ohms. I then reassembled the dryer without the drum and belt switch engaged/door latch switch engaged to see if I could see the motor pulley spin and NOW I have no low voltage power to the display. I have up, asked a technician to come diagnose, he said a new control board . New control board installed and still no power to display... any ideas? Thank you!
Spin the drum as you press the start button make sure the door switch is engaged then assist in turning the drum clockwise if it turns on then there is an issue with your motor
Thank you for the reply. I tried your suggestion of spinning the drum clockwise with the door latch engaged and pressing the start button. Still no sign of power on the display board/no motor movement. Is there any place to access /buy/and or view a wiring diagram for this dryer? model: dve45m5500w/a3 I’m at a dead end. No appliance repair company will complete the diag or show up to my house. General contractor won’t take responsibility for his electrician causing the initial problem. Thanks for your time, mike

Hello JJ, need some help please. I have Samsung Dryer DV42H5000EW/A3. It's dead, as if it's not plugged in. The thermal fuse, door switch, belt switch, and thermistor are good. I'm getting 220V from the wall outlet. I suspected a bad Control board and watched your video. I "worked" the steps backwards because I felt that would be easiest for me. Results: No 12v at the plug in back of the display unit on the far right of the machine -no real surprise. Then I checked the plug on the main Control board for 12V -no voltage, and again no real surprise. Lastly, I checked for 120V on the main control board and got a zero reading -that surprised me! I'm not really sure where to go from here. Can you please offer me what next steps that I should take? I appreciate you!
@JJ’S Appliance Repair UPDATE: the two power/voltage (120v & 12v) checks that you suggest on the Control Board are good and I'm also seeing 12v on pins 5 & 6 on the white connector that goes to the Display Board. Still DOA -no power indicated on or to the Display Board whatsoever. In your opinion, I'm I looking at a bad display board or a bad motor? Is there a way to test either component? Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. -Gary
@JJ’S Appliance Repair 2nd Update: I need some help please. I have Samsung Dryer DV42H5000EW/A3. It's dead, as if it's not plugged in. The thermal fuse, door switch, belt switch, and thermistor are good. Everything ohms out. I'm getting 220V from the wall outlet. I suspected a bad Control board and watched your video and others. Results: I'm getting 12v at the plug in back of the display unit on the far right of the machine. Then I checked the plug on the main Control board (pins 5 & 6 red/white) for 12V and the voltage was present there as well. Lastly, I checked for 120V on the main control board and it was also good. I then tested the motor per another video and got the two reading that I was supposed to see, approx 2 ohms and then approx 3.4 ohms when switch/plate on the motor is depressed or activated. At this point I'm pretty much at a loss as to what to do next. I now suspect that maybe the "Display/Selector board may be bad, but haven't found any way to test it. I guess I'm also not 100% convinced that my main Control Board is truly good either.Do you know of anyway that I can test the Display/Controller board? In your opinion, do you think that my main Control Board can still be bad? Any light that you can shed would be most appreciated, thanks!
@@carlitosjr2388 I never did fix that dryer. I sold it over a year ago in an "as is" condition. Not sure if the guy that bought it ever got it fixed either.
I have a new Samsung Electric DVE456100C/A3. Occasionally it will not power on with the touch of the on button. the drum light is on when opening the door but no power in switch. We installed the proper power cord to a wall receptacle. Thank God because I am not sure how I would get it going. I have to unplug it and back in to get it to start again. Then it works properly. I would like to fix it correctly. I do not have a Samsung service in my are so you know what that means. Warranty basically sucks. Any suggestions
Hi , good evening . From your experience what could be wrong if the dryer turns on but doesn’t cycle ? I hear a click like if the relay closes but the dryer doesn’t start . Thank you in advance
Open door and press door switch down while power on have someone press start button while u turn the drum with hand clockwise to see if the motor releases and activates with Assitance
I have a DVE45n5300v/a3 with no power to display, checked voltages and I'm getting 12V AC to the relays (not 120V), -0 volts DC on red and white out of control board to display board. Initially, dryer worked with a stuck relay so it was always tumbling, ordered a replacement control board and then dryer went dead, found out that the control board was a bad RMA that Samsung sent back out, so I put original board back in and now things are dead. I have 120V / 240V between lines at the power termination at back of dryer but only 12v AC makes it to control boards; what might cause this?
I need to see what your looking at and how your checking it. 30$ online fee payable through cash app or Apple Pay once we diagnose the problem and or the part causing failure If you are ready to tear down the unit have tools ready and meter with you the. FaceTime after 4pm central time 956-667-6323
@@ApplianceRep I'm up for the diagnostics, have meter and tools and ready to go. I have an Android - not an Apple - so can't face time, but can talk voice or with Google video calling. Update- both relays have 120V to them (the same 120V, not 240V between them), but no DC power out on pins 5 & 6 going to front display. Tried three control boards and all exhibit same behavior (e.g. no power output to front display) so I'm assuming that a switch or sensor or wiring issue is causing this.
Same here, did you find any solution? I've checked all the thermistors and switches and they all test as working, but no power to display after replacing main board.
@@dagrr8977 yea, tough decision when I've already replaced a $180 board that didn't fix it. Calling a pro likely won't have any different result, everything is testing fine
@@Rice_Cake_ yeah that can be frustrating plus having to lay the price for a tech and the price for them to order the part and install...poor product as far as I'm concerned
I have a samsung aqua jet vet washer and power is not coming on. I checked with volt reader and it’s getting power but still nothing is displaying. Is there something else to check
Hey bro is there any way you can contact me? I'm actually training to be an appliance tech as we speak but the dude that is training me is barely speaks any English or Spanish. Long story short it would be dope to get your knowledge. If that's cool with you. I speak Spanish too bro.
Hola!
the camera man seems to be unable to focus it on the main subject being talked about and there's a lot of camera moving everywhere so it's hard to understand this teaching and I had to set my video speed to 200% in to get to bottom of this video 😕
I bought a new Samsung dryer, I changed everything electrical wise and machine is getting 240 v to it, but still doesn’t want to start. Ended up replacing it with new machine and same problem.
Then you have a floating neutral did you check it the voltage with a load on it. Put your meter on one leg of voltage the the other to the neutral and power on and press start see which side drops try this on both sides of the voltage
Good morning, I followed all of your steps and have 11.89 volts at the display board connections but display still doesn't power up. I have ordered a new display panel and still have the same issue. Can you help me out? Thanks
I got dc92-01607g version 1 but it should still power on have you checked power on the plug Also there is a thermostat at bottom on the blower that one has to be closed circuit if it’s open then that’s why it won’t start also
Man you don’t know what you’re doing, you have got 120 voltage which is correct, and tested the UI which is good and you have said the issue it’s the PCb, you have just guessed.
U didn’t understand the video the dc voltage is carried up to the front display installing a temp main board we now have our dc voltage present which confirms the pcb is bad
