They're basically doing what an air conditioner does an air conditioner sucks out heat and puts it outside will heat pump sucks air inside and pretty much there's no such thing as cold there's just less hot so a heat pump just extracts the heat out of the air it's not really a new technology unless you're saying an air conditioner is new if you want an explanation on how it works go to the RU-vid channel technology connections video titled heat pumps the technology of heat pumps is new for being used to heat up houses but the technology of using it to cool down houses isn't obviously because it's used to cool houses by sucking the heat out and then putting it outside and then also you can take the heat from outside and put it back in just watch the video by technology connections heat pumps video
How to confuse the general public, next they will be telling us how cost effective heat pumps are. My home has been heated by oil for 54 years and the total oil cost so far is £16,660. The target temp for heat pumps in your lounge is 21 deg and for comfort you should aim for 24 deg. Remember if it sounds to good to be true it usually is !
