On the first video sample with stablilisation, I don't think the 1080p video sample on A51 is the on with stablizer on tho.. because it's shaky and not cropped a bit like in the A71 and i know the A51 have on , but it's either you use 4k recording, or forgot to turn on the stabilization
We need more "western" reviewing these mid range, and more recognition for you, like most people know only iPhones SE and shit, even though Samsung have been making decent mid range for awhile And also, make sure when you pointing out about detail of one photos and another, zoom on those photos too, so we can actually see what are you talking about, because from just those three shown side by side, and not zoomed in (or cropped) i can barely notice the difference in detail, i can only see a major color difference
@@davidlegkodukh6969 yes definitely, except if you want a great battery life, and don't care much about "speed" then it's a clear reason to go for the A71
I've owned the a71 for 2 days now i thought it was going to be to big but its actually perfect these videos make the phones seem huge for some reason lol
Though A71 is obviously best but in some samples A51 did take some better shots as it produces more natural colour than A71 which is more vibrant! A31 is also good in it's place.
@@TechDaily Is the oversaturation of color (on the a51 specifically) a display issue or an issue with the actual picture? Also is there a way to turn that oversaturation off or reduce it with some sort of setting before/or after? Thanks
Thank you so much for reviewing these! Nowadays no one reviews the midrangers that much although the midrange phones got much potential and lots of features from flagships at a reasonable price.
I have a A71, coming from a A5 2017. Love it. Considered the A51, but went for the A71 for the better processer and better camera. Love your videos and comparisons.
Im literally in the same boat I still have my A5 2017 , but got the A71 last month ... and decided to Not take the A51 because of the processor and camera difference ... so your comment represents me 100%
Watching on my new A71. Love the phone. Cameras great. Just upgraded from the S8. Love the change. Could use the adaptive screen like the S8 but, after 4 days, I dont even notice much of a difference. Plus, on a personal note, I'm 6ft6in, I'm a big guy. I always felt like I had to pick up, hold, and carry my S8 a certain way because of the curved screen. My A71 feels so nice in my hands. Definitely dont feel like I have to carry it so carefully.
A31 looks most natural to me. However for most cases they are under-exposed. Is it possible to do permanent exposure compensation? i.e. do it once and for all?
Awesome Review. I like the way this review was done with the side-by-side comparison, really helped me with video spec. It seems as-if the A51 has the best video when playing back this video in 4k. Seemed better than A71. I'm sure you can tweak settings more on A71 but from the get go, A51 for video purposes, A71 for selfie and saturated photos and A31 for the naturally good photos.
Honestly couldn't see much of a difference across-the-board on the back cameras. Night mode wasn't as dramatic a difference as the feature set would suggest. I also didn't see a difference in stabilisation on the video. But for the money. I'd go with the a51 as it cost slightly more than the A31 while looking much better up front with an even cleaner front than the A71. The advantages of the A71 would be in Gaming, bigger battery and faster charger.
@TechDaily thank you for the review. However, I was looking for some comments and a comparison of the macro cameras and was a bit disappointed that you have missed it from the review. Although the macro cameras are the same for the three devices it would have been nice to see the difference coming with the different processors.
Thanks for the video. I really appreciate it as the camera is one of the reasons why we buy a phone😀. I also wanna ask if the shop in the link given can be trusted as I'm thinking of buying the phone from them.
6:46 can you really disable the AI that made the picture looks overprocessed? I'm currently looking to buy a71 but, surprised to see a31 doing much better on the camera department (in some pictures). would you say that if the settings youre referring is disabled, does the a71 camera looks better theen the a31? (in terms of natural look)
Thanks for the useful comparision. It would have been great to have indoor shots, as that is where a lot of phones that are fine outside really struggle. I would also really have like to have seen some macro shots. So weird how the A51 has some strange effects and how good the A31 is. The A31 was rarely the worst in still shots and the differences for outdoor video were marginal.
I'm watching on the A51 the camera is really nice though the lack of stabilisation at 4k means I have to adapt video is fine it does focus hunt and that's annoying and low light performance is decent but overall I am satisfied I would want abit more hopefully the S series gives that good work love your vids 🔥
I just purchased the a31, and it came with Galaxy Buds+ while still being cheaper than the a51. That's pretty crazy in my opinion, going to miss the slightly better camera but the value is simply insane
Hey, watched all your reviews on the A71 then bought one today. I've got 2 questions. 1. How come when you put the selfie camera in 3:4H it says 21mp not 32mp? Is it using the 32mp in the standard 3:4 ratio? & no.2 I'm coming from the S9 and noticed the A71 doesn't have the option to save it in RAW+JPEG? Is there a way to save it in RAW and shoot at the 64mp? Thanks for the great content!
Maybe the sensor is a 16:9 sensor and by using it in 4:3 you are cropping off the sides. As for the lack of RAW, maybe try a 3rd party app, but it may be that the midranger doesn't offer the finer features of a flagship as standard.
Thank you so much! This is the video I was waiting for! The A71 is the best I like the colors and dynamic range very much. Also, it is very good at night mode, and even the ultrawide lens performs really great
Thanks for the video, i buyed the A31 recently, so for the price i think is awesome and he can compete with the others two..thanks for the video once again :D
Thank you for this. I really appreciate it. Maybe samsung could add a telephoto lens on the Next iteration of the A71. By then i could really upgrade if they will include that in A71s (hopefully).
I'm honestly leaning towards the a31 because of the price and the value you get from it, but I don't know. The a51 has a new design and the camera has more enhanced features. I'm kind of still indecisive about it because both phones work great for what you pay for. I'm currently stuck with an A10e and want to see which phone could I get the MOST value from.
The price of the A31 is nice and was considering getting the A31 but the A51's photos look more natural and in focus to me and now have to rethink my choice.
So with that in mind what do you think has the best color representation for the least amount of editing? Is it hard to adjust things through editing to make any pictures from any one of these phones look good?
A31 has the most natural colors, but worst dynamic range A51 is too highlighted and has bad white color balance A71 is oversaturated at some places Night mode is pretty much the same
@@Fiat_Multipla69 Realme, Xiaomi, oppo etc has no Video Stabilization! Esp on 4K recording A71 is Unbeatable. A71 will smash them one by one in Camera and most of all in Video recording. Even A51 will beat them. A51 and A71 has a Super amoled screen resolution. That's the another advantages of Samsung A Series phones.
I love the vibrance of the A71's photos. I've never had shots overblown in color as such, but maybe it's the settings. The photos of the A71 also reminds me of the XS Max. Not as exact, but if you turn on live focus, it's close enough to pass.
A71 got it all. Even battery endurance is significantly better than a51, while still keeping weight under 190 grams with that 4500mah battery. Low light photos are vastly better. You just cant skim processor w/o consquences.
The A71 seems to have brighter images & the most dynamic range out of the three (particularly compared to the A31). An excellent example are the three selfies at: 5:44 - the sky is washed out for the A51/A31 but the A71 manages to get the most detail out of it, showing the clouds. Another example are the photos at: 11:01 - the background is over-exposed for all three photos but the A71 manages to capture the most detail (out of the over-exposed trees in the background). Then at: 11:37 the leaves at the top are under-exposed in all three photos but the A71 once again gets some detail more than the other two. However, in some cases I felt that the A51's shots are actually better such as the one at: 11:27. Video stabilization is OK for both the A51/A71...I mean for phones at this price I'd be happy to even have image stabilization honestly. if I was to buy one of these, I'd go for the A51. The extra 100$ for the A71 over the A51 does not seem justified & the lack of features such as image stabilization in the A31 is an easy "NO" for me. I am very happy with my iPhone 12 Pro Max but I might get an A51 just for messing around with the camera, taking photos and making videos.
Please compare the audio-in of the 3 Samsung phones. Which of the 3 has the best 🎤 microphone for video recording (for example) a classical vocal and instrumental musical performance. Some high end fones for example has too much noise cancellation which makes the video sound too flat. Thank you in advance!
My main concern with the A71 is the repeated system instability/crash issues as reported by several phone repair shops in my vicinity. System stability is especially important as effective system backups are nearly impossible (unless with hacked custom firnware) and in the case if unrecoverable system crash then a full factory reset is inevitable......
I was hyped on getting an A71. I was ready to press buy but I held back. I ended up barely just finding out that A71's are GSM only phones (At&T, T-Mobile), and not CDMA (Verizon, Sprint). I have Verizon so it won't work. Doesn't matter if you have a dual sim as far as I understand. I've read that Verizon might become compatible with GSM but not until maybe late summer. Keep this in mind before buying!
The A71, which I was thinking about buying, changes the color and temperature of the images way too much for me, when it does so. The A51 and A31 are more natural tones. I was really surprised that the A31 took my favorite photo most of the time. Is Samsung f'ing with us? Is this some grand social experiment? "Watch us put a shitty camera on our most expensive A series device and watch people buy it and justify the crappy photos because they paid more for the phone." Yeah, I'm pretty sure that we're part of a grand Samsung/NSA experiment.
@@akuma3159 yes the s10 plus is a flagship with that kind of performance....but that doesnt say a71 is to be looked done on....I still think it will perform really well.....cause think about it.....how much people really max out there smartphones.....n to me the only area the a71 would have sealed the deal was if they had put the 855 snapdragon chip in.......
I've A31 but for sure A71 win this competition. The sad thing is my previous one S5 camera (i know it was a flagship but it is 2014 phone) is better and has a lot of options, slow-mo, night mode, plus 4k recording. Samsung is really doing some cheap moves these years to variant their models and lower their price, but it shouldn't be to this level, that's so cheap. I decided to try a Nokia phone next time.
All I wanted to buy was the a30 the budget friendly one, but the sales lady told me they don't have any stocks and guess it's already pissed out in the market 😅😅 now I'm having a hard time choosing if I'll go between a31 or a51? And here I am watching this video and makes me a little confused which one I should get the a31 or a51? 🤔🤔🤔
