Zinnia Hassan surprisingly in the UK they play the same ad (“awesome screen, awesome camera, long lasting battery life” script) but not with blackpink ㅜㅜ it’s not the same
If you feel the headphones jack is a win for the a series you clearly shouldn't buy the s20 coz you clearly can't or have to really stretch your money to get it anyone who can afford a 700+ phone can easily get wireless headphones
@@Crazy_killer-qm8ju bro, I use iPhone 11 which also doesn't have headphone jack, and I also use tws earbuds , but that doesn't mean headphone jack is not important, still I wish they put headphone jack in my iPhone 11, coz in gaming, wired headphone is the best option,

it's hard for me to think that a device like A71 with 400$ is considered a budget phone these days. Like you have to be rich if you want to take decent pictures and use good features etc. lol
For some people maybe thats a budget phone. But for most people where samsung marketed the a series and m series, a71 is the high end of the series. A51 would be the budget and a10,20 or 40 would be the budget one.
I recently decided to get the A71 instead of the S10, I realized how much can the A71 give you, for a way lower price and taking in consideration that I use my phone for daily and simple things like social media and entertainment (no gaming) and if I ever want to upgrade I won't feel so bad because Im not paying nearly 1000$. Thank you for this review, It reassured me I made a good decision.
The chip in the A71 (SD730) is a good chip for gaming. It's GPU is better than the SD835 and even that is still very good for games. EDIT: corrected my earlier info. I said the S9 when that had the SD845 and not SD835.
@@pkpnyt4711 there are huge discounts and exchange offers for this for where I live, thus making the price difference very negligible. There are no such discounts on A71 currently, I Checked
I would stay with a71 because it has all the features like the s20. The latter may have advantages but the diferences are not of concern to me. Besides, i have $600 other reasons...
@@arjunsavanur7242 it's the same thing it just has a better chip, but yeah if you want to waste an extra 100 bucks then I would get the s10 lite. It's on sale right now because of mothers day
I already have the A71 but after this video I am so happy for having it, because I got nearly everything in this phone camera, games and screen, thanks for making this video.
Phones like this make me wonder why everyone is getting so excited about the new iPhone SE. You've had phones out for years now that offered high tier specs at budget prices
Because, let’s face it, the A71 will last you 2, 3 years at most, and then will be lagging and no longer receiving any updates. With the A13, the SE will be fully updated and running smoothly for at least another 5/6 years
I went with the a 71 after seeing and feeling the s20+ and I couldn't be happier. We seam to forget that all phones us too be made of plastic and held up just fine. The a71 proforms really well with everything I put it through. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Watching on my S20. Kinda wish I got the A71, but wanted to go big since I was on a iPhone 7 for 3 years and felt I needed a huge upgrade. S20 IS AMAZING. I'm glad to be back on Android. Can't go back to 60hz Displays.
@@oscarjuarez7124 you should be glad that you have a way better display, camera, performance, battery, features, materials, durability and software support. I also have the s20+ and im glad i bought it over the a71. I need that performance and 120hz
The funny thing is, I've always seen myself as an power user who needs and wants a flagship phone. Nowadays though, midrange phones can do the same stuff easily a high end phone did 2 years ago. I bought the Galaxy S10 Lite for around 420$ to replace my Galaxy S9, because I see no reason to spend so much money for features nobody really needs in everyday life. Who needs 8k video recording and a 120 Hz screen, when the only thing I really want is a good battery life and good photos?
Used to always buy flagships, this year I bought the a71, looks the same feels the same, I don't game on my phone so the performance doesn't matter for me.
Exaxtly, I dont game or use my phone all day. I went from a Samsung s7 edge , I only changed because anything I did on the phone was super slow like anything the battery on my old phone was still fine but yeah
I just want to say that I enjoy your videos and reviews - you do a very good job of explaining details that are important and that's important when comparing a two phones that are significantly separated by price! That being said, I will say once more, there's no one out there who can justify, especially in this day and age, spending over $800.00 for a smart phone, let alone $1,000.00 or more! Thankfully, there are manufacturers out there who do recognize this and either undercut those companies that continue to overprice their devices, or simply build mid-range devices that contain nearly everything most consumers need in a phone with whatever features that are eliminated just not vital!
Got my A71 5G a few days ago. I have to say I am super impressed. I don't think I would be very aware of the differences unless I was looking at them side by side. With a 6.7" screen, honestly how much difference can be seen? This is not an 85" 4K TV after all. The only things I would have liked to get are wireless charging and water proofing. But I've never had wireless charging so I don't miss it, and I'm very careful around water anyway. Happy so far with the phone and especially the price. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The yellow of the Snapchat icon is noticeably better on S20's HDR10+ OLED screen. The same goes for the green trees and blue water in the video that played on both phones.
I have the S20, honestly... huge upgrade from my old S7 edge, I have so much more space and also 5G ans 12 gigs of RAM, it feels super smooth and pictures look amazing! Battery lasts great and gaming is a breeze, best phone I've ever touched!
I just upgraded to the s20 from the note 10 and I couldn't be happier with this phone. The cameras are awesome , the screen refresh rate makes the phone super smooth and the screen paired up with the speed of the phone is incredible. Samsung screwed up with the Ultra but hit humerus with the S20 and S20 plus
Basically, they're exactly the same phone except one is made from more expensive materials, and neither of them seem to do anymore than my s6 that I've now had for nearly six years, and I still get a good ten hours out of the battery.
Wireless charging is still basically wired charging because the wireless charger is still basically tethered to a power outlet. Reverse wireless charging on the other hand, now thats a game charger.
@@jadgbanzer9246 what's the benefit of wireless charging? It creates more heat and stress on the battery and you can't even use the phone while it's charging as well as it usually charges slower. So explain the benefits.
@@alexanderrahl482 what the fuck did you even read what I said, what are you talking about when did I talk about the benefits of wirless charging you cretin.
This is a great and also extremely relevant comparison. With flagship devices reaching 4 figures, many people are considering their options, as well they should because we are literally spoilt for choice right now, even within the samsung line up you can spend from £120-£1400 so theirs a smartphone for everyone. I've always gone for the flagship S device, upgraded every 2 two years on contract. Now my s9 is two years old I had a decision to make. I knew i wanted a huge battery because my s9 was no longer making it through a day. I decided I wanted I bigger screen, a great camera, expandable memory, a flat screen and a headphone jack because hey why not? Also my young kids sometimes watch cartoons on my phone (kids mode is great) so I didn't want to be over precious about it incase they damage it. My wife's had the S7 for years so in November I started looking at a replacement for a Christmas gift and the A50 stood out, I'd never considered mid range before (Samsung's j range was a joke) I bought the A50 for a bargain £280 and have been blown away with how good it is for her everyday use. With the release of the A51+ A71 i was very interested, but there are trade offs. I didn't once use wireless charging on the s9 so the lack of this feature was irrelevant, my phones live in cases so rear shell materials don't concern me, with no ip rating however I knew I would have to stop swimming with my phones. So after much research I decided on the £420 A71 + last week traded in my S9 at the samsung store for £150 and they had a £60 cashback offer so it ended up costing me £220. So one week later I'm amazed with what you get for the money. The s20 is clearly the better phone, and so it should be considering it costs more than both my A71 and my wife's A50 combined. Stay safe guys 👍
This is really interesting because I'm in the same position except I'm coming from the s8 instead of s9, decided I don't want to pay flagship prices and want to try the midrange, however I can't decide between the A71 or A51, the camera is the most important factor for me as I take a lot of pictures of my kids but not sure I can handle the slightly bigger size of the A71. I've seen the great offers like the one you've had on the Samsung site and will be trading my s8 in when I finally decide which to go with.... Please can I ask how do you find the size and cameras compared to your s9? Thanks 🙂
@@Awootoo the camera was also a huge factor for me, but after a week with the a71 I'm seriously impressed, much better pictures and video than my s9. I'm a fan of aperture and the live focus mode allows pictures with nice blurry backgrounds to be shot with ease, and the wide angle lens is a game changer obviously the s20 will be much better especially the ultra but the shots on the a71 are not just great for the price there are great in their own right. Both the a51 + a71 have similar quad camera set ups and compared to your s8's 12mp rear camera the a51 boasts a 48+12+5+5 MP combination. The a71's larger screen is amazing for viewing videos on but it's much bigger than my s9 and takes some getting used to, however imo is worth it for the bigger 4500mah battery. Unless you specifically want a huge screen like I did, I'd consider the a51 its display is 6.5" compared to your s8's 5'8" screen and is a big increase without being to crazy, my wife hasn't once said the a50 Is to big for her however I feel the a71 may have been.
small correction, the s20 is 12gb ram in the US standard. the 4G only model available elsewhere only has 8, but you did note that the A71 comes in 'either 6 or 8 gb,' should have mentioned the 8/12 options on the s20 as well
I paid 679 for my S20 but I'll admit watching this video has me thinking I could've saved even more money. I love the way the S20 takes pictures tho. Especially with the GCam app instead of the standard Samsung app
My A71 survived a motorcycle accident and me falling in a deep river. All with just the clear plastic protector. I'm surprised it doesn't have the water and dust rating
I am still using m A8 2018 the most legendary A series ever it had all the bell and whistles of that year. then Samsung 4king up the A series line with a set of plastic no Ips68 no dual front selfie camera . the only A series that came really close to the A8 2018 A90 5G but it had no ips68 and no dual front selfie camera. but I will never buy another A series phone until Samsung make the A line like the A8 2018. but great video bro love in the house
@@bbbbbrk yes bro love in the house tha A8 2018 is a legendary phones i don't know why Samsung can just revamp the bloody phone and just tweek the cameras the ram to 8gb and 128 or 256gb internal, the chipset to SD855 keep ips68 glass front and back and trust I am sold until the Apple SE2020 4me.
I was deciding to get either the A51 or A71 for my mom's birthday, I decided for the A71, even if she won't use the phone in it's full potential at least she'll get to keep a good phone for the next 3-4 years. Her current phone is a S6 Edge.
Honestly if I had enough money I would buy the S20 over the A71. I am not a fan of huge display but I want every inch of it to make me feel good while I am using it and "Glasstic" won't cut it (No Pun intended). Currently I am interested in the Galaxy A51, it's not as big but has everything I need (besides premium feel of course). The A50S looks sexy from the back though.
A71 has been 3 4 weeks and I am quite happy with the fingerprint definitely does a good job the price A good and powerful processor and battery lasts me a whole day without recharging and so calm id and no doubt feel that the camera takes me pictures like these and a little focus except that the device is definitely worth the money ! (8 ram!)
Simply the best reviewer on You Tube. Clear, concise, impartial, honest and well made videos. FWIW I'm going for the S20, costs more but future proofing for next 2-3 years.
@@HearMeLearn on top of that, s20 costs 2.5x of a71, so basically one cas switch phone at every 1.5 years and will still have 200$ in his pocket at the end of 3 years
I literally got my A71 today. Although my last phone was an S8, and I'm sure people will ask why I went to the A71. I am more than happy with the A71. Plus I got £100 off retail for trading my S8 which makes it even better for me.
I just have to say this. I just purchase my A71 and I love it. I also have the S8 but my screen is cracked. I'm also a small time photographer & the big timers do the same with cameras. TD I loved your review but a lot ppl think if you don't get the top of the line phone, camera or what ever you some what have come up short. Well this ph works perfect 4 me. I'm not a gamer & when I get ready to take real good pic of the family or what ever I grab my Pro Camera. So how good a camera is on a cell ph will NEVER be a deciding factor for me. ijs

@@mohdnaimurrahimseyam4066 Oh my, these people are really dumb huh, even some Xiaomi phones already had Samsung screens, but these people aren't as dumb as the people who say iPhone screens are better than Samsung's screens, like bruh, Samsung makes screens for Apple, and most of the time, Apple uses LCD displays with low redolutions (Like the iPhone 11), while even the most basic Samsung phones (Going back as basic as the A series phones) have AMOLED screens with FHD resolutions!
If you think s20 display is excellent, wait till you see note 20s as Samsung said they've made a new better display that's not so harsh on draining the batteries, also the new eUFS 3.1 storage has 3x faster write speeds than the s20s
Much like when family members ask me to put together specs for a computer, I think the choice comes down to how you intend to use the phone. If mobile gaming is your passion, you're going to want to have something that can play the latest and greatest. But if you're looking for something to snap casual photos, use spotify, browse the web, check your e-mail, etc. there are a plethora of mid range phones that might be able to give you a better value. You need to think about what your must have features are and then decide accordingly.
Ok so I went from a note 8 to a note 9 to A71 8GB. I Honestly have to say that my A71 was a complete upgrade even though its midrange. The note 8 speaker was terrible, the note 9's stereo speakers were great. The A71'S single speaker is pretty good! It's a lot better than the note 8 speaker by far. Now I wont say it's a better phone than the s20 however if you dont want to spend the money but you are worried that this phone will lack in comparison- dont. I LOVE this phone. Its fantastic. Very fast , does everything I want never crashes and it's very light and still has a headphone jack. Just think about THAT. Ps. Screen- yes the s20 is better but the A71.... very nice
@ꀯI didnt trade a note 9 for this phone. I had a different phone in between. And I stand by my opinion because I've used both extensively. Android 10 and One UI 2 along with 8 gigs of RAM out of the box? Ya it's a better experience.
Well, I just bought a Galaxy A71 and I'm upgrading from a Galaxy Note 4. I thought about the Note 10 Lite, since I'm already used to the note and S-pen, but the A71 was cheaper and still offered so much.
I own a A71 and for that price it is an AWESOME phone. Comparing it to 150% more expensive phone is pointless, it is giving waaay more bang for the buck! Camera is nice, you can't expect a better camera than a 1k euro phone but still impressive. Phone is snappy, screen is awesome, it even has that edge screen crap, like s series. Imo, better option than S20
The A71 a phone from 2020 still worth it until today at 2023, performance still good even battery life too, now a71 got update os to Android 13 One ui 5.1 making so smooth animation better cameras quality, love you so much a71🤩
I just purchased my A71 from Amazon today. I was originally torn between the S10e and the S20. Obviously price was a huge factor and then I saw then live and in person. S10e WAY smaller than I thought and what killed the S10e for me was the puny battery. I'm coming from a S7edge..which was WAY ahead of it's time. so either way it's a huge bump up. So I decided to sacrifice some of the things I'm use to with the S7edge such as wireless charging and higher pixel density for 1, PRICE. 2, Size (im only getting older and the eyes aren't getting any better..lol) and 3, build materials. Here's a funny story. I have dropped, thrown, kicked, slapped and just about anything else you can imagine with my S7edge WITH A CASE ON OF COURSE and screen protector and not a single crack. I've had it for almost 3 years. Last week it fell out of my hand and landed flat on the back with a case and screen protector. Can anyone say NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! So I'm quite pleased that the A71 is "glasstic" and besides, we ALL slap cases on them the moment we get them anyway. Yes I could have purchased the S20 or even the plus, but from what I've seen it looks as if my well spent $400(that's case and protector included) will be money wisely spent. Let's face it, none of us are getting any richer. I'm looking forward to receiving it.
Lol at the people here calming themselves just because they have the cheaper phone. Sorry I was at the same boat when I bought the A70 and now less than 6 months since I bought it I took the S20 plus. Sorry but a budget phone will always be a "budget phone", speed, camera, processing, lag in apps and so on will always be there in the cheaper non flagship devices. Also just touching a cheaper material and screen will make you get bored of it much faster than if you get a flagship device.
my s7 died and needed a new phone asap. I bought the A71, took it home and played with it a bit but I found out it's not dust and water proof, that's a big difference for me in my job, I had other phones that are not sealed properly and the inside gets so dirty or damp. I got the S10 for $8 more per month. I did not like how big the A71 was, that's my preference, some may like it. The S10 has much more vibrant screen and better camera I think. Battery in S10 is terrible! My S7 easily lasted a day, I can't do it now but my car has wireless charging compartment so I toss it in there on my home from work. The A71 is still a decent phone, it has a lot of features. I only went with S10 because it came down in price a lot, the S20 in Canada is $1500, S10 is $680 and A71 is $480.
I bought the a71 but when I received it and compared it to my note 5 regarding the display the a71 disappointed me. I thought to sell it but did not know that it had a factory plastic. I removed it and now a big difference I keep my a71
Hi, l'm Robert, l live in Australia, and l find it fascinating ,and also a bit heart wrenching to see great mid and top end phone's at such low prices. For example I bought the Samsung galaxy s20 4G only version with the exynos chip, you can't get the snapdragon in this country, for $1349 around two months ago. The s20 FE was selling for $1199 and the A71 for $999. when you live on an island nation completely surrounded by water you tend to pay much more for stuff as a result of the increase in import costs. Prices for the phone's I've mentioned have dropped quite a bit since then but still.
which option would you guys recommend. Our local Xfinity Comcast offers below: A) S20 UW 5G for $999.99 with a $400 gift card (mail out in 120 days) B) A71 UW 5G for $649.99 with a $200 gift card (mail out in 120 days) I like the fact getting that S20 for $600 after gift card but cannot stand narrow display panel. With the A71, more viewing side to side, which is a lot more useful and practical to me tall and narrow display
Thanks for the vid. Very extensive. I normally wouldnt care about wireless charging but I have it for my present phone I may as well use it for my next device
Which big midrange Samsung phone is better for long term use , and is atleast fairly priced, with new software versions which will continuously be updated to the future Android Versions ?
In the past 5-6 years i only took top tier phones because i thought the rest was garbage, but as i got tired of paying £40 a month I kept my S7 Edge for one extra year on a sim only plan and now i decided to go for A71. I got a nice £19 a month plan for 24 months with 25gb of data. If i wanted the S20 it would have been around £60 a month. I am pretty satisfied with my decision as my objective was to upgrade from S7, I think this phone does it pretty well.
Been an S series user since like the S5 or 6. I've been holding on my S8+ for almost 4 years now. Going from the 5 to 6 to 8 I noticed not much in terms of what I use a phone for..... really changed. At what I use my phone for is..... making calls (crazy, I know), texting, surfing the internet, and watching youtube or hulu. I do not get the obsession people have with taking pics of fucking everything and it seems the biggest "upgrades" phones see from year to year generally has to do with the damn camera. Hence why I haven't felt the need to upgrade..... and honestly still don't feel the need to upgrade. I will say though this A71 is very intriguing and if I do upgrade sometime in 2021 I'll probably opt for that one. Granted this video was in March so I'm pretty sure this is just the standard A71 (can't remember what he said in the video) but they have a 5G capable A71 for I think $500-600 right now according to the ATT email I just got advertising it.... which is why I'm here. I wouldn't even be entertaining the thought of upgrading my phone if I hadn't dropped it a month ago and cracked the screen. They're hairline cracks, but they are annoying. To me while this guy says the A71 being made of plastic as a con..... I view it as a MASSIVE positive. Dating back to the early 2000s when I was rocking the mini brick Nokia cell phone..... plastic phones MURDER modern phones in durability. I can't remember what model year it was but I remember the S6... I think... having this awesome textured back made of plastic.... back when you could still open your phone and swap out the battery - you know.... the good old days. I think after that phone they started making phones out of metal and glass and making it impossible to remove the back of your phone...... which is why I waited a couple years for the S8 before upgrading. This A71, to me, seems like a modern phone with the qualities of older phones that I think are WAAAAAY better than how they build modern phones. I mean he says the backing material is plastic but it also sounds like the screen itself is plastic. If this is the case...... I'll definitely be getting the A71 when I upgrade. A plastic screen seems shatter-proof to me. Why isn't this the standard? Modern phones are so fucking fragile it's annoying. Having to buy a phone and then HAVING to buy a case for the phone..... defeats the purpose of making the phones out of the fucking fragile as fuck materials they make phones out of.... and making them so needlessly thin. Just build a solid, durable friggin phone. It seems like this A71 phone is the closest thing to what I actually want. I'm sold. But like everything in life nowadays...... I'll ride out my S8+ until it either completely dies on me or I break it further..... or it operates so poorly I can't mentally handle it anymore, haha. But right now..... my S8+ is running just as well now as it did the day I got it in 2017. How and why people upgrade their phones every year baffles me. Honestly, I wish they'd bring contracts back again. When ATT or Verizon or any other provider made you sign a 2 year contract they'd include MASSIVE discounts on phones. Like a $600 phone would be $300 if you signed a 2 year contract with the provider. I miss that. Now..... they just make you make payments on the phone itself but you're still winding up paying the retarded full price for the phone over time..... and you're still technically locked into using that provider for that time. I use ATT and I am referring to the NEXT plans. I assume other carriers have the same thing. It's stupid. The deals nowadays don't seem nearly as good as they were, say, a decade to 15 years ago. Cell phones..... suck nowadays IMO. But again, this A71 seems like the most intriguing phone to me that I've heard about in years. And the fact they have a 5G capable phone now (September 2020) for I think $600..... I'll be buying that one. EVEN IF..... I'll be sacrificing a little in picture quality. Which is why I went for Samsung over Apple YEARS ago. For one who watches videos on their phone fairly regularly I can't fathom why someone would opt for an iPhone. Samsung MURDERS the iPhone in picture quality IMO and has pretty much since the beginning of the smart phone era. Willing to bet though, to my eyes, the A71 will still look better than the iPhone offerings. I used to just go on my iPhone experience in the store when comparing the two brands, but the job I have now has a company phone...... and it's an iPhone 10 XR. It. Fucking. Sucks. Not only in picture quality, but in usability in general. Android and the Samsung/galaxy UI is so.... SO much better than the iPhone. The iPhone keyboard alone is enough to make a person go mad. If you're an iPhone fanboy I highly suggest trying an android.... it doesn't have to be a Galaxy. WAY more useful and user friendly than the outright idiocy that is the iPhone keyboard. How the iPhone has been so popular for so long and they've been using that.... THAT for their damn keyboard - baffling to me. In terms of intuitiveness and user friendliness there is absolutely NO WAY i'd ever get an iPhone. I have had my company iPhone for a year now and I still fucking hate it with a passion and it's not anymore intuitive a year later still. It just doesn't make much sense. And I have an iMac desktop. So it's not like I'm 100% anti Apple. I just think their phones suck major nut sack compared to everything else that's out there and I am baffled as to how and why iPhones are still as popular as they are.
I sold my note 9 and change to A17 with hope better battery life, however result is same charge twice a day without playing games. I miss my note 9 because macro camera better and has notification light on top :(
I'm just wondering why I enjoyed this video so much! 😊 Thanks for helping me decide the A71 is a better choice for me overall (even though I'm concerned that it will be too big to handle one-handed). Eventually I will drop the phone and I'm hoping the "glasstic" won't shatter like you mentioned during the video.
A71 is the BEST overall Computer, Camera, Great reception, and lets face it, If it had crappy reception indoors, it's worthless as a phone. If it's frail and ruined if dropped, again, Worthless. And lastly, if the Camera can't even photograph a CHECK to do a "Mobil Deposit", again....Worthless. The A71 has EVERYTHING, without breaking the Bank.
I have the A71 5G as my daily phone but the S20 is the better overall phone when it comes to: camera, screen to body ratio, a higher resolution display, better build quality, higher refresh rate, much faster and more efficient processor etc.. The A71 is still a great phone but I'd recommend it for people who don't want to spend 1,000$ on a phone. You can get a S20 cheaper now for only 800$ or Galaxy S20 FE which is also probably much better than the A71.
I recently purchased a71 and I am happy but not very happy bcs touchscreen freezes every now and then also network strengths not as good as I had Huawei p20 pro which I never had any network issues!
3.5 Plug ear plug or headphones, allows FM radio listening. Smaller phablet allows easier one hand use. Samsung camera app needs Open Camera app, with its inbuilt zoom feature. Waterproof is not needed, since I have my older phones on standby. Also I never have been that careless handling my gadgets.
personally i have the note 10 plus, but i contemplated getting the s20 ultra. i might get the A71 just to test it out here soon and see the difference between my current phone and the A71 just out of pure curiosity.
the only practical advantage of the s20 over the a71 is dex support, nut you can get an borken beat up s8 with a for as low as $65 and still get full dex support ( i am typing this comment from it). The s20 might be a good buy in 2022 or 2023.
