A52s 5G is actually more worth it than the A53 5G in my opinion, hear me out. Well in comparison of price that A53 5G (8GB + 128GB) cost 450 US Dollars compared to A52s 5G (8GB + 256GB) cost 350 US Dollars. Plus the Chipset of A53 5G is Exynos 1280 and for the A52s 5G is Qualcomm SM7325 Snapdragon 778G 5G. The only "Upgrade" that A53 5G did was the batter capacity which is 5000 mAH compared to A52s 5G 4500mAh. And lastly theres no Headphone jack in the A53 5G which is a "Midrange phone" unlike the A52s 5G that includes with Charger, case, earphone.
This device, unlike last year, didn't overwhelm me enough to upgrade😐 nothing significantly different, especially tossing the headphone jack... I don't have the money to permanently rely on (great sounding) Bluetooth headsets so I will stick to my 52 for the time being at least. It's good to know that I'll have a few more years out of my device. Awesome video as usual👍
You'll need to get used to it, you will one day. One day the only smartphones that'll have a headphone jack will be very cheap 720P LCD, very cheap phones.
I’ve had an iPhone 7 for many years now and recently 5G has arrived in my town. I would’ve bought a newer iPhone but here in South Africa - Apple phones are far too overpriced. I ended up ordering this phone today and quite excited to use it. Samsung is crushing it in the upcoming economies.
I recently got it and its amazing! All it needs is wireless charging and it would be a perfect all rounder for the money! I use wireless headphones so no jack is not a problem for me. :)
Correction about the A53 being the first A to bid farewell to the headphone jack: Back in 2018, there is a A8s which also ditched the jack, that phone was Samsung's first hole punch as well, and I belive the A60 also ditched it.. eitherway, kinda dumb, no wonder that Buds Live offer 😂
On a broke college student budget, I'm downgrading to this from my S8 plus thanks to a motherboard issue that's just a matter of time before it kicks the bucket, and other previously used apps just refusing to load now. No shame in it, lasted 6 years. 4-3-22 First vid I saw from your channel, nice overview. Was lucky to snag the promo with the free galaxy buds. Love from Pittsburgh PA dude.
@@YOURTECHFRIEND It's not a downgrade at all! Only thing I miss is the wireless charging, but I can still charge my Galaxy Buds Live and TOZO T6'S wireless with the Samsung Duo Charger! Loving this phone, got it connected to my still kicking Gear S3 too! The AR emoji is amazing, made one of my girl Harley Quinn and a few others! Added an SD card as well, and got it synced to the Tab S7 Plus 512GB!
This reminds me so much of the way apple releases new phones. They always release new phones with just slight improvements. They dont change much. That works for apple because they have very loyal customer's. I dont think its gonna work out that good for samsung, people expect new and exiting things from samsung.
Had this phone came with wireless charging, I wouldve gotten this over the S22. Granted I liked the A-series for its features flagships gave up but I never used the headphones jack or SD slot on my A71 anyways.

@seferowastaken Both are good phones, really good But one is for gaming and other one no,enyway when you grow up you don't play so much games, that's why I prefer a53 5g
No headphone jack no buy! We all need to fight back this practice, this is Android not iPhone with the restricted features on phones. I went with Samsung midrange for the more options and with SD card slot and headphone jacks and now this. I hope the A73 doesn't have this issue but I believe it will. I'll just hold on to my A71 5G for a while then. I hate this new practice from these big companies and forcing shitty Bluetooth headsets on people that costs a lot. I like wired ones and always will. The old ways of tech was better than the new crap they have and this trend of taking away the jack, card slot and having tons of cameras on the back and ugly hole punch on screen. If only Sony phones weren't that expensive here in the US, I would have got one a long time ago since they're like the only ones not following this new stupid trend with phones and trying to force it on the consumers. 😤
Think of this phone this way its not much of an upgrade to the A52 agreed, but its really good for people getting their first samsung ever because of the price tag on the phone and if you do buy this phone then you will have 4 years of updates and 5 years of security updates. So I think this is a really good phone for 1. people who have never used samsung and want to save a bit of money 2. for someone's first phone ever.
I have the A52 and will definitely not upgrade for many reasons being the headphone jack and the phone looking/working the same in the sense that they haven't changed much of it. I'll wait for the A54 or I'll go to the FE lineup with the S22 FE when it comes out
@ jonah not to mention the Geek bench single-core performance score was worse than the a52. I prefer to have snapdragon chips in my phones because they are usually more powerful and battery efficient.
I currently own a samsung A52S 5g,higher recommend getting it rather than upgrading to A53 or S21 as the specs are pretty similar, A52S 5g is bigger than the S21 and S22 FE,plus you still get a headphone jack and a charging brick
Before accessories that where included in box👇 -Charger With Adapter -Rubber Case -Headphones -Cloth Sticker -U even got some awesome booklet with discount offer depending on company
This phone is awesome, I am getting it soon. I actually prefer having no case and charging brick, because I never use the transparent cases that come with the phone (they turn yellow). Having 1 unused case just creates extra waste, same goes for the charger. I go for the faster charger, if a slower one is included then that's just waste
This "no charger in the box" and "no headphone jack" fiasco is just getting even more worse. I just wonder why Samsung doesn't give the new users and consumers the choice of having a free charger. And, the "no headphone jack" problem, just for the sake of marketing is disgusting. My goodness! Samsung kept the headphone jack on budget Samsung A-series phones but ditched it on upper mid-range section.
When I saw the offer for the A53 with the buds live ...I went and ordered a S20FE and a pair of galaxy buds live ...it was the same price as the A53 offer with buds live...but I got a charger in the box and a SD 865 processor ,an aluminium frame instead of a plastic one 😄...this new phone made me realize...that if I want a Samsung phone better buy the old stocks now before it's too late...new Samsung phones are simply robbery...😄...no accessories, worse processors...but more expensive

This upgrade was a good upgrade for my Galaxy A12. Find that they got rid of the corded earbuds because I have wireless earbuds so that removing the headphone jack wasn't really much of a big deal for me and honestly the difference in quality between my old phone and this phone is actually a great comparison and contrast in quality so I'm so glad I made the upgrade
Man please 🙄. Get a pair of Apple Airpods 2nd generation for only $129 at Best Buy. You will never want wired earbuds again. And yes you can use the Bluetooth Apple Airpods on your Samsung Android Phone 📱! They sound great!

The A53 is not the first A series Galaxy to remove the jack. The A60, A80, A90, and A8s all came without the jack. In fact, the A8s from 2018 was the first Galaxy that didn't have a headphone jack.
This device doesn't have enough upgrades to tempt people to buy it. They took off the headphone jack, the charger and the TPU case. The only upgrade I see is the bigger battery.
Got my A52s 5G about 3 months ago, and honestly there's nothing I would ask more for this device, the A53 is nice but definitely a downgrade if you're planning to upgrade from A52s
@@Upgrayedddd I'm going to be too busy enjoying my A53 next week to be bothered with your concern for people like me lol. The A53 5G is a fantastic phone, regardless of it's other generations. The ditching of headphone jacks and expandable memory on "flagship" models is just proof that the smartphone industry is going through an "awkward phase". The A53 does have a better battery life than the A52, but otherwise the performance differences are either minor or tilt in the A53's favor, not factoring in gaming (which is not what this device is being marketed for...it's for everyday use, like social media, watching videos, etc).
I have the A53 and love it. I have no clue what he is talking about re the plastic back??? It is simply a mat finish plastic back, that's it, but nicely melds into the camera, nice design touch. The speakers are amazing, even better than my S21 Plus. I like this device, as the SD card expandable memory is all important to me. Plus, the S21 Plus I have is a free replacement phone from Samsung for a former device, and cannot justify paying the expensive price tag. I will say that if you get the A53, you will get a year more security updates.
@@judyjones5089 for me personally i don't need expandable storage I'm good with my Pixel 6 128gig but i understand your concern with it if you do a lot of videos/pictures i think getting the a52 is a better option than the a53
I was wondering. Being new to android ecosystem and therefore not having any android phones would you recommend the a53 or a52 if price is not an issue?
I got this device today, because I needed to switch from Verizon to Spectrum(saving about 60% for phone payments if I'm not mistaken). Overall, it's an excellent choice for the next upgraded phone, with me having previously used an LG ThinQ android from Verizon.
@@pizzahawaiiv2492 If you don't already have a USB-C to USB-C wall charger, you need to buy one. Got a nice one from Amazon for $14, but they're as low as $5 and can go way up from there. Any electronics store or eBay will sell them too.

Heya Wade, I've been doing a lot of research lately for a new phone. I'm planning to buy a new phone for both me and my partner. Our budget is 500 euro each. The best pick I could find for that price point is the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5g which is 449 in France. I'm mainly interested in a great camera/video capability to be top notch. Do you know any other phone that can beat this model at this price range? Thank you!
My dad has that phone, it is a really good choice. If you want to go mid-range, the Pixel 5a 5g has really good camera capability. But, if you want to go the iPhone route, the iPhone 11 has really good cameras and performance. Also, the s20 should be around the price of the s20 FE now.
@@KMusic-K For the price the s20 FE is better than the pixel 6. But if you want less bloat ware and stock android the Pixel 6 is a good option. Some advantages of the S20 FE are 120hz screen, better video, a telephoto camera with 30 times zoom compared to 10 on the Pixel 6. Advantages of the Pixel 6 are better night photography, 50mp main camera vs. 12 (not that important except for when cropping), more android updates (the Pixel will get at least up to Android 15, while the s20 Fe will most likely end on Android 13), and the Pixel 6 has a little bit faster processor. So all in all, unless you want stock Android and keep your phone for more than about 2 years the S20 FE is better in my opinion.
Just got this phone. It is not much of an improvement over the A51 or A52 5G models. You lose the headphone jack and still no wireless charging. Exynos soc feels slower than Snapdragon and the 120hz display I turned off due to erraticness. A good phone otherwise but Samsung would need to bring wireless charging and ultrasonic finger print sensor to A54 hopefully.
just got my Samsung Galaxy A53 5G,it's great I love the performance and features but the battery is draining really quickly even though it's just been a week. Can someone suggest how to solve this problem?
I have a question... Is the haptic feedback the same as the a52 phones or is it improved? Because those phones had a very slow and unresponsive haptic motor, felt very cheap.
That is a really good question. I have wondered that myself, and have reported it via Samsung Members Feedback, and asked for at least higher intensity vibration feedback in the next software upgrade. I use TalkBack with my device, and if you leave its sound feedback on, but only at 25 percent, it can offset the lack of feedback in general. It just helps to "confirm" the haptic.
Good review.. Samsung needs to up their game.. I really hope they can live up to their promise updates of 3 to 4 years! Good updates that is.. as the A52s had a bad one..
Can’t say I wouldn’t appreciate a physical fingerprint sensor on the side of device. A53 5G looks decent. Definitely appreciate the bigger battery. But it does suck that Samsung has followed apple in the removal of headphone jack and the charger lol. NOT everything apple does is justified and shouldn’t be mimicked by other smartphone Companies. We as consumers shouldn’t be short-changed by certain companies, just because a popular company does so. I say Samsung should stick with what works best. Imo SD processors are more reliable.
I have the A53 5G and i really like it and I'm very sure you will like it also , the best thing about the phone is the display and 2nd best is the audio because the phone has really nice sounding speakers.
@@shanepatrick641 nope ,you can just swipe down from the top of the screen and access the Dolby Atmos with it's own dedicated toggle button you would have to swipe over to find it though and move it if you want. Dolby Atmos makes wearing headphones or earbuds more entertaining especially when you are watching a video full of explosive action and you have the Bass Boost turned on , for this phone I recommend using Samsungs Wireless earbuds cause you will get the best sound and since Samsung's phones and earbuds are made specifically for each other you will get extra sound controls in the Samsung Wearable app such as noise canceling.
Changing the finish on the back of the a series is a definite improvement. That "glastic" stuff was just cheap looking and terrible to try to keep clean
I really want an upgrade. I have been saving up for a year now to buy an A series phone but I still don't have enough money. I'm $100 short. I just wish I could have an amazing phone like the a52/a53. I'm stuck with my oppo F9
I've been using mine for a few days now and don't have any major problems with it. I think the haptic feedback when you type is Weak but it may be a setting I can change because it vibrates for other things good. The other thing I seen was the Visible carrier app took forever to load on 5G but opened instantly when connected to wifi. I later noticed my mom's moto G did the same thing so I think it's a crappie app not the A53's fault. It's working great for all the things I do daily. Works well with BT headphones and Android Auto. Battery usage seems too.
First of all, I'm not a bot.... I have an A42 5G running Android 12. The A42 does NOT have "Always on Display" & Google Assistant will NOT wake the phone when the screen is off/sleeping. (Trust me, I have tried all the so-called "remedies" & settings to no avail.) That drives me crazy! For those reasons (& a few more) I am strongly considering upgrading to the A53 5g. Does the A53 5G have "Always on Display?" Can someone confirm that Google Assistant wakes the phone when the screen is off or sleeping? My thanks for any replies.....
@@threeputt98allen Yes you can wake the Google assistant witn the phone in sleep(screen locked) it will respond and do some things. For some things you need to still unlock your phone. Like if you ask for the weather you will get the current weather. If you ask it to turn a light on/off that may require you to unlock. The a53 does have always one screen. There are some settings to that you can customize. The default is tap to wake.
@@MrMikey1273 Thanks for the quick reply! I have been fussing with those issues daily since I bought the A42. Time to upgrade and stop this consternation..... Cheers!
I would love to see the power break in there I'm kind of but I am a little surprised that they actually remove the headphone jack otherwise it's a good looking phone
I think Samsung kinda forgot that both the Galaxy A52 5G and thew A52s 5G existed. So if you jump from the Galaxy A52 4G to the Galaxy A53 5G you can surely consider the latter an upgrade overall! 😏
I like my A52, but it's time for an upgrade. I dropped my phone a lot. I would say out of the one year and 3 months owning my A52 phone. The only problem I ever had was when it reached the one year 2 months my battery was dying fast and when I was on the phone I sounded like I'm under the water. Lol
Just tried a Redmi Note 10 Pro and am wildy disappointed. Is the A53 worth the extra over an A52s? Think I need to go back to Samsung for a better experience.
Bought the Samsung Galaxy A53 today. No phone jack plug in which I loved. Associate at Walmart didn't tell me I need a seperate charging unit that accepts the new usb charging cord. Tried calling the 44870 Walmart store for 30 minutes straight and could not get through. This has always been an issue for years at this 44870 store. The phone sucks and Walmarts' customer service sucks! I will return it tomorrow. WALMART SUCKS! I wish I didn't drop my A52 in the ice cream when I fell asleep, ha, ha. I loved it. Once again Walmarts' customer service sucks!
