Just bought myself this phone 2 weeks ago. I'm really happy with the this in almost all the aspects. I saw many reviews complaining about the performance. However, I never had any issues with daily use with no gaming. Maybe that's because most of reviews are based on the 6GB version while I got a 8GB version. Therefore, I would recommend any potential buyers to go for the 8GB version. Phone is a bit bulkier than I thought. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever.

Same here. Got the 8 GB RAM 256 GB version. Working perfectly. Also many reviews are based on stress tests that peak performance , a boundary that normal users hardly ever cross.

I had a lot of doubts before acquiring this phone.. i had reserves even regarding the design.. But man when I got it i was surprised.. in real life this phone looks a lot better than pictures.. very nice and simple design.. i did not experience any lags in daily usage.. Samsung made a huge work on the software.. fingerprint has become very quick (Samsung phones used to be very laggy compared with bbk phones in fingerprint unlocking).. display is amazing and the overall experience is satisfying.. it deserves 8/10 easily..

Man! 17 minutes in and battery life remained at 100% and dropped to 99% after all that time with screen on, that's very impressive! even for a new phone. Now I know that it has a 5000 mHa battery but still, I couldn't stop watching the endurance of the battery percentage. I like the phone but I would never go back to an A series ever again, I can feel the choppiness, stuttering and lags after a few months and installing apps... these phones would never be flagship killers. You get what you pay for, simple as that. It's nice to have the alternative though, I like the design and colour, A series now are back at their game, a S series look-a-like and specs downgraded so you can afford them.

i havent experienced any choppiness so far with the a34 (likely because it has mediatek instead of exynos), im only unhappy with the downgraded animations and effects on the A series. There is not even a bit of performance gain from it

This is an old video but if you happen to be watching this video in July of 2023 I'll say this is not a bad phone for the price it's at now $379 I got mine for $305 for the 8gb 128 I've had it for a month and it has gotten better with updates, hopefully this continues.

I have been using this phone for 1 month and it is incredible! the camera is perfect as well. the only issue i have is that the upper part of the screen gets warm/hot not like overheat. I believe the phone has a heating issue. after 10 min i feel the heat. is it ok for it to heat? or what should i do? does it have something to do with the battery??? (i don't play games at all)

I have the a53 and had no real issues with daily tasks and gaming. It has an exynos processor but it runs all the games I wanna play. Only game I had troubles running was bunnyhop cs go simulator. All other games run fine, it's also really smooth. 5 years of security updates and 4 of ui. Battery is great too.

Not having Windows phone app for iOS is such a big turn off for me. I'm seriously considering returning my iPhone and getting a Galaxy or a Pixel. I've used the phone link-up for Windows for over 3 years now on Android, and not having it on iOS is just unacceptable at this point.

I currently have the S22 Ultra, but I traded it in tonight for the A54. Samaung called me. Thought I was crazy, but I've had the Ultras ever since they've been coming out, and I'm starting to get annoyed with their size and weight. I need a popsocket for every case, to hold the phone properly, I go through so many screen protectors because of the edge screen, and my phone never properly charges in my car because it doesn't have enough power. I'm very much looking forward to the flat screen and being able to use tempered glass again. I mainly came to this review because I wanted to make sure I can still access my paid fonts and themes and if it had the option for swiping gestures, which it does. You should have got the S23fe, A series phones get intentionally downgraded effects and animations in the UI (eg: app opening and closing animations) which can only be fixed with root access

Samsung Czech Republic and Slovakia confirmed that the main 50 MPx camera is Sony IMX 766. Also in Europe we have only avaible 8/128 and 8/256. Also I agree that this phone is made for carriers contracts and traids in. Also Samsung are like that. That is how cheap i got my S23, I traid in my old S21.

Pretty close to what I want in a phone. If I could design my ow phone I would swap the macro for tele, drop the glass on the back (adding a cover on it anyway), lastly a long shot remove notch and selfie cam (I never take selfies). For software I just want to be able to uninstall every app I will never use. Sadly that is still not a right users have.

I use the A52 definitely a good phone, no issues after 4yrs, good sounding speakers performance is smooth, no softwarw priblems, looks great with a back cover. The A54 for me, not an option

The One UI software is what makes the difference. My wife's S23 Ultra froze and did the same thing during setup, but after that everything was ok. It might have to do with my Wi-Fi signal during setup. I believe the A53 was using Tyzen software.

They've been using One UI on all A series phones a few years now. Hardware being not as powerful as the S series really makes a difference. It's fine for a casual user though.

A53 was almost a disaster, if it wasn't for the A73 that lineup was doomed from day 1 i.e: A13, 23, 33, 53 - all were mediocre not mid range.

You can't go full screen on most apps like youtube or bbci iplayer . You can zoom to fill screen but you loose details. The black bezels are massive either side of the screen due to this problem. This phone doesn't even support uhd content. Even cheap Chinese phones you can watch 4k content like xiaomi and pocco

I do think most people are comparing this phone to flagships which isn’t a fair comparison. And you know going in that Exynos processors aren’t as good on performance as Snapdragon or even Mediatek Dimensity chipsets. I’ve seen comparison videos of this A54 versus flagship phones and this phone keeps up with them. Which surprises me given that many reviews tend to rip the performance of the Exynos 1380. So for what it is, it doesn’t seem that bad. I do hope Samsung will eventually return to Snapdragon processors for their A50 lineup but if they can optimize the Exynos, it might be ok.

Of course a new phone needs to get used to your using patterns. That's why lags during initial set up is inevitable. I had mine a few days ago and I've experienced few lags, the most remarkable one was when I switched to fun mode in the camera app. After that, I didn't notice any lag at all.

samsung still needs a lot of work with their mid range devices. I'm obviously not expecting an s23 performance but if you're really going to buy a phone for almost $500 you need better performance than that. I got an a53 in Canada for cad 550 and you're 100% spot on, it's not wort the price, it was very smooth for a few months, 8 months in i've noticed more lag, sometimes the screen does not respond as fast as it should, i've never dropped it on the floor either so that's a samsung problem

great video but you made a mistake with the software longevity. you get 4 years of os updates and 5 years of security updates. And also i think you used the phone with the expectance of a flagship experience not what the price offers. and for the lag that you recorded this is the first time im seeing it happen to a samsung device i usually see it happen to a xiaomi device. so i think its an issue with software not exynos. I helped my aunt set hers up and didnt experience said issues.

@@reziee5897 the thing is that android is optimized. But different manufacturers want to add touches to it to like make it their own style. Like their own skin. Companies that use the stock android that google uses rarely experience lags when using the ui. The only thing you’d notice is the slowing down of the device during intensive tasks such as gaming which is down to the chip it self not the os. The only time where the os is the issue is when it’s starts lagging just from using the ui. That’s why Samsung made one ui core which is a less feature packed one ui os but has the basics of what you’d expect from one ui. The likes of xiaomi also suffer from this cause they don’t have a lower end os meant of lower end devices that run slower chips. But even with the os issue google (the people that own android) also made android lite which is an android version with just the basics of android.

I was initially gravitate towards it as a secondary device but after seeing the Exynos processor and have a hands on in showroom. I came to conclusion it's not for me. As last 7 years using flagship device I can't bother this laggy device.

Does this phone have "Voice Focus Mode" enabled like the international A series? it shows up once you initiate the a 📞call on the dialer. Could you verify this, please?
