Then you clearly have no idea who this is aimed at it's for people like me that hate smart watches, want to wear a traditional watch but still want some health tracking. Bit of a silly comment as its comparing apples and pears
If it can't react to other activities than walk/run, & doing a cack job of those, it seems pretty useless... Although I would give them a little bit of credit for them not charging me extra every month.
It detects other activities, walk and running are the only ones it detects automatically, for the others just go to the app and set it up before doing them
At that price point, opting for a smartwatch makes more sense, the purpose of the ring eludes me. Perhaps in the future, if they devise a method to control your phone, tablet, TV and PC through gestures or similar innovations, it could be worthwhile. However, as it stands, it seems like a scam.
Smartwatches are ugly and have too many pointless features in my opinion. Some of us just want something that doesn't have a screen and that tracks everything while being discreet. A ring is perfect for many people
Then you aren't it's intended market it's for people like me who hate smart watches want to wear a proper watch but still want health tracking it actually suits a lot of people just because it's not for you
I don't wear traditional watched so its nice to have something discrete to do basic health tracking. I like the sleep tracking and imagine its less noticable than a smart watch. Not to mention the battery life cause yoi would probably need to charge your smart watch at night.
I bought it just for sleep tracking since I have sleep issues. I gave trouble wearing the watch at night since it's too uncomfortable with the way I sleep. Granted I had so.e points on Amazon so got a nice discount on the ring
As someone who is in the Fitbit ecosystem, I just want a no-frills, reasonably priced GPS, steps and sleep tracking ring that works in said ecosystem. I feel I'll have to wait a bit longer for that, which is fine by me. The charge 4 will do for now
Great video as always. Love the humor: "horny teenagers??" Lmao 😂 I do gotta say though, I've had my Ring since launch and I'm loving it!! I box every morning and hated wearing my watch inside the glove. Now, with my Ring, I'm able to click the boxing workout in Samsung Health and the Ring will track my calories burned minus my HR. which is still helpful. Definitely hoping Samsung will add more workout features and things with updates. Looking forward to more videos!
It seems that since it's a first time device for Samsung it has some inaccuracies compared to the oura ring. My main question is does it work with other android devices or does it exclusively have to be a Samsung phone?
Yup. Plus it's just one more item that you're gonna lose when you get mugged on the street. Have people forgotten that dudes rob yo rings as well as everything else?
Almost got one but after watching The Quantified Scientist review on it I decided to go with the Ringconn 2 ring for half the price. I also have the SP02 issues that you have on the Galaxy Ring on my GW5 but not on my GF3 and that is important for the Sleep Apnea diagnostic. I am hoping the Ringconn 2 is a bit more accurate than the Samsung ring.
sats error is most likely caused by the ring being pushed of the finger somehow...try nailing the ring to the finger, its drastic but it just might work.
It's all fun and games until that shiny new Samsung ring "battery" decides to explode, and suddenly you're giving a whole new meaning to 'losing a finger!
Its a neat idea, but its not for me. I have a fitness watch for exercise and notifications. I see little benefit in doubling up, especially given the price.
I've bought one as I've never been in to smart watches (prefer real ones). Had it just over a week and can't fault it for what it does. My only issue so far is the stress measurement seems to be all over the place. Sleep and workouts seem to be spot on
My energy score always seems to tank on the weekend as well (but maybe that's correct) you have to to tell the app what your none working days are but then i get seriously low scores for lack of sleep consistency on a weekend
Could you maybe do a xiaomi turbo 3 or realme gt 6 neo review? Or better yet a review of both and a comparison video between the 2? Considering both phones cost 200-220 pounds on aliexpress it could be a really good videos to make considering they have 8s gen 3s while both of them together cost less than the Samsung ring😂
if you wear smartwatch you limit the amount of times you look at your phone hence limiting risk of dropping your 1k+ phone. also if you hate ring tones smartwatch is a good notification centre which is silent alsso you can control music player make phone calls if you wear buds you dont have to have phone near you. if you are into tracking your health data ring is more comfortable in the bed. its just convenience but that's my opinion as i own both the ring and the watch :D
No, this was unfortunately a bad experience for me and I'm an absolutely a Samsung guy. Since Note 2 I've been with them and have the Fold 6 now. Have had three or four different watches from them at this point... But I'm a HRM guy and I've tried multiple workouts with this and it just didn't even pick up that I was working out. Didn't pick up my HR correctly, didn't count my calories properly.... I was just sad because I was hoping this was going to be amazing.
well having NFC payments on the ring sounds risky. as there is no finger print or another way of authentication meaning it being always active so scammers can just walk around scanning peoples rings lol.
Not worth it I'm afraid. Needs NFC payments on it and have like a small glass window which you can swipe on the ring. As this is the first generation still needs more baking in the oven in my opinion so no thank you and especially at that price.
I can see these things feeding the hypochondria in anyone so inclined. The new office is pretty sparse, Uncle Spurt. Has a recently-divorced-middle-aged-guy vibe. Hope that's not the case.
Compared to the price of a smartwatch (I have samsung) this just seems pointless. Even the watch 7 is cheaper & you get way more info. It's just a weird status symbol
I'm not even an Apple consumer. But if Apple's smart ring has the base features of their old concept. It will be something to watch out for. I honestly, look at this product as an early push and now its the wait game with Apple. Then everyone will announce their next gen ring and the current out brands will have to see if they need to do to keep playing or find a new platform.
If Apple made a ring (and they will), they gonna charge you double at $800 for it and people will go gaga and camp outside of the Apple stores just to get one. Apple Cult as always
Pointless device when you can get a decent smart watch or activity tracking watch for the same or less and it'll actually gove you useful information you can actually look at and see in real time
i did got my as pre order and i must admit it is very accurate for steps for me as i did multiple tests. so go for heart rates and spo2. sleep tracking i don't know but usually it corresponds to what i feel in the morning but noticed as soon you try to work out with rowers bicycles and such where you need to grip it became inaccurate for some reason. but not by much as a reference it will still do. in my opinion this is a health tracker to give you general idea on how you doing rather than workout tracker. also my friend have size 10 where i have size 11 and it seems if the ring is too tight on your finger it will perform worse unfortunately. also finger seems to be best place. but i love it. my size 11 lasts little over 6 days as advertised. but a bit overpriced i think it should be arround 250 max in my opinion. oh yeah gestures are not available on s24 ultra.
