Even if they don't stop exynos they should at least lower the price of the exynos variant

The funny thing is Exynos models in other countries are much more expensive than Snapdragon variants that are sold in countries like North America & China. So the rest of the world actually pays a lot more but gets a lot less. Ridiculous.

I must say I'm a bit surprised that no one else has "picked up" this story, so I very much appreciated You for "investigating and exposing" these issues. Unfortunately I'm not surprised as this (as You rightly pointed out) isn't the first time it has happened with Samsung's phones.

I have witnessed this difference since the Galaxy S6 days. I even spoke to Samsung Support about this throttling issue but they didn't care. Now I use OnePlus. Thanks for putting it up.

3:28 in fact in the case of the S20's the Snapdragon variant uses the *Sony IMX555* camera sensor & the Exynos variant uses the *ISOCELL S5K2LD* So not the same camera for the regular S20's, that combined with Snapdragon's better ISP must be the reason for the better picture quality. Samsung needs to give everyone the same especially for the price people are paying, it's ridiculous.

This is to Samsung: I returned my S20+ yesterday with an Exynos 990. I am a European customer who even pays more for his phones than Americans do. I noticed that after one hour of heavy usage my S10+ managed to get better scores and less lagg. I won't buy another Samsung device untill you can offer us a similar or the same phone..

Samsung need to stop this.. Same chipset should be retailed everywhere..

I have Exynos S20+ and it starts getting extremely hot as soon as I open camera app and take 2 to 3 shots.

Samsung should lower the price on exynos models. Edit: they do but actually lower then but it depends on the country. In Bulgaria it costs as much as the snapdragon model in US.

1. Clueless Average buyer buys Exynos version seeing the good reviews of the Snapdragon version. 2. And then they have the Audacity to sell it at the same expensive price tag or even more expensive in some regions. 3. I always hated when People with Snapdragon version complained about not getting the Exynos version, like you don't even know about the privilege you getting.

FYI: About a year ago Samsung and AMD announced a strategic partnership to incorporate AMD's GPUs on Exynos chipsets. AMD is no stranger when it comes to GPU technology. Then, back in May, a benchmark appeared which showed a new under-development Exynos 1000 running with AMD Radeon and absolutely crushing Qualcomm's Adreno GPU (better performance by a factor of 3x). If we consider this together with the fact that Samsung discontinued their own CPU development department and decided to license ARM-based architecture instead (which is what Qualcomm's Snapdragons and Apple's behemoth Bionic chips are based on), we can be certain to expect a total inversion of the mobile chipset dynamic within the next 2 years. Right now Exynos users feel betrayed (and justifiably so, myself included) and demand that a Snapdragon variant is offered in their regions. But I suspect that quite soon it will be our friends across the pond that will be demanding that an Exynos variant is offered to them and who will feel betrayed by Qualcomm's Snapdragon in their devices. Most sources expect to see the Samsung-AMD partnership to come to fruition in 2021. So we will be very likely seeing this new tech on the Samsung Galaxy S21 / Note 21.

My Galaxy S20 FE is the 5G version and has the Qualcomm chip. I've always used the budget version of Samsung flagships, coming from the Galaxy A50, which I loved. Everyone told me how much better the Snapdragon would be, and it wasn't until I had the new phone that I actually noticed it. It's literally STUNNING to look at and my pictures are just 10000x better. My entire experience is just miles better. I'm so glad I got what I got for the price I did. Even still having a budget version Samsung Galaxy phone, it doesn't feel like it this time.

I feel I got scammed with my exynos S20+. Its 20% slower than the US one, and the battery life is a joke. And don't get me started with the heat situation.

The whole video takes 9 minutes to watch, but the making of it is hours!! Aron is the best tech RU-vidr out there by far!!

The good old Exynos days were back on the release of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7, after that Qualcomm just applied nitro mode and passed Exynos on their chip performance...

I bought an s20 plus. On their site they said it had the snapdragon. But i'm in EU so ofc it did not have the snapdragon. They wont let me get my money back. Battery is so much worse than my s10 plus and i am very dissappointed in the camera so far. The absolute worst part is that we all pay the same for very different phones. Not sure how this is even legal.

I own a Note 9 Snapdragon and my cousin has Exynos I still get 8 h SoT and he gets max 6 hours After 1 hour of playing, his phone lags, mine not a bit. I believe everything you said in the video, i`ve seen it with my own eyes.

Just sold my exynos s20+ for snapdragon s20 ultra.. omg feels like a different phone

I did alot of experimenting back in 2013 with battery life. Everyone says it's all about the screen on time, which is true, to an extent. I used 1 snapdragon device with 2 different setups. Setup#1 was maximum capable SOT of 12m per 1% with an idle of 1h per 1% (this is a very similar experience to exynos). Setup#2 was a maximum capable SOT of 8m per 1% with an idle of 1% per 3.5h (this is the experience you can expect from snapdragon). I tested both setups very extensively, for months. I can tell you right off the bat, the snapdragon experience is far superior. If you're losing 1% per hour at idle, you turn on your phone after 2 days and you're already down 50% battery and you haven't even done anything, now your maximum 12h SOT is 6h at best. The snapdragon on the other hand will still be around 90% after 2 days of not using it and you can still dedicate most of that battery capacity to the screen, even with much less screen efficiency the device would still easily do around 8h SOT. If this was a period of 3 days you have even more diminishing returns, exynos would do 3h SOT vs the snapdragon doing 7.5h SOT, and it just gets worse. Also, to make it even worse, the actual comparison of exynos vs snapdragon everything above is true except the fact that the exynos wouldn't have the extra 50% SOT that I used above, thus resulting in even worse battery life than my explanation. Yes, it's 100% all about the SOT, but if your device can't properly idle (which exynos can't) than you're not gonna squeeze the SOT you're hoping for, unless you used it from the minute it got off the charger to the minute it goes back on the charger. I've owned 2 exynos devices since this testing and let me tell you, Snapdragon is a far superior experience to Exynos in terms of battery life. The exynos devices would be on the charger everyday or every second day (with moderate usage), 3-4 days with light usage. The snapdragon devices get charged maybe every 4-6 days (with moderate usage), 7-20 days with light usage. Exynos still has these idle battery issues in 2020. SOT>idle, but if you can't idle you won't get the SOT. Rooting and using custom kernels and roms still can't help exynos get anywhere near the snapdragon variants. Good luck, I hope I helped.

Thank you for this video! I subscribed after seeing a couple of your videos. I was already on my way to change my old Note 8 with the new Note 20 Ultra, even going for the most expensive 512GB one, but seeing the difference in the chips I will skip (for the 3rd time) a new generation of Notes. And I am not taken back just by the difference in performance between the 2 chip sets, as I do not do games on the phone. But the difference in chip efficiency, translated in cooler chips and significant longer battery on the Snapdragon is the deal breaker for me. It's a pity I live in EU and Samsung is doing such a mess with their commercial policy here (and the rest of "Exynos world"). I will probably wait for the Note 21, or switching completely to a different brand, if I am getting impatient.

Snapdragon is really better than exynos that's all.

I have a S20 Ultra 5G Exynos version and I noticed a few things : 1-Using zoom for a while makes your phone slightly hot 2-Playing games for 1 hour or more makes your phone hot and screen aswell will become hot 3-Meanwhile your phone is charging will be hot until 90% and after going back to the normal temperature 4-When changing from 60hz to 120hz screen color slightly change 5-Battery drain very fast even though the size is 5000mah 6-Autofocus sucks , they improved somehow but still not as it should be

This is outrageous.. I'm so mad that they sell the Exynos version in my country. So unfair. I'm honestly super pissed at Samsung that they dare to sell these two variations with GENERATIONAL differences in the background for the same price! You better make up for this with the next generation Samsung!

The lack of Exynos is its get so hot so easily thats why it runs out of battery so much that why i choose Snapdragon
