If you're looking to get a new fast charger, use the code AJ33I5VU to get additional 10% off from March 31st to April 7th! Baseus Powercombo 65W Multi Port Power Strip amzn.to/3wqzYNb
I would still recommend getting a charger from brands like Baseus or Ugreen, which supports higher wattage. Their products are usually great value for money and works pretty well. Never seen anyone have any issues in terms of damaged devices etc before. 1 charger to handle multiple devices. Maybe if you gotta charge your phone + tablet etc at the same time. I prefer this over carrying more than 1 charger. Plus if you end up upgrading to a phone that supports even faster charger in the future.. lets say 65w for example, your charger will probably already be able to support it, rather than having to get another new charger if you want to get the full 65w charging.
Just be sure to get a usb-c to usb-c PD 5A "emark" cable with your charger! Standard cables only support up to 3A of charge current so to get the full 45W charge speed you need to use a cable that supports over 3A current and the only ones that can do that contain a special chip in them that lets the charger and charging device know that it supports up to 5A of current. The 45w charger I bought off ebay to save money didnt come with a 5A cable so my charging speeds were less than 45w untill I figured out what had happened!
Some additional Info people should know. 15W Charger USB A to USB C: You are just Charging 25W USB A to USB C: You are Fast Charging 25W Charger USB C to USB C: You are Super-fast Charging 45W Charger USB C to USB C: You are getting Super-Fast Charging 2.0. Which is the fastest, but need to be using a 5a Cable
I've been waiting for a video just like this one. I bought a Spigen 45W and noticed that the 25W wasn't that far behind the 45W. Great video! As always your videos have a lot of great content.
I've loved the battery life out of my S22 Ultra so far, it's getting very well usage compared to my 13 pro max so far. I've stuck with the 25 watt charger brick so far and haven't had any issues, sometimes I'll use my 40 watt power brick from belkin that I like alot as well.
The 25 watt charger that came with the note 20 ultra is more than fast enough for the S 22 ultra, I couldn't care less about 45 watt, its not that much quicker anyway, I only use the 25 watt now n then, most of the time I use the standard charger.
This just shows how stupid it is to blindly believe on some numbers on paper. Samsung advertises "45W charging" while in reality it doesn't even hit the 30W mark except for a few SECONDS or 2 minutes. People complain about Apple not using super fast charging but then give Samsung credits for supporting 45W while in practice, both Support about 27W.
Wait. Has anyone ever clocked these Samsungs taking 45W at a time? Ever (outside of a lab...) Because if not, if they don't ever do that how is that not a fraud?
Being more efficient shouldn't have any difference in charging time so why even make that statement? You should be looking for heat and power loss differences.
I think your charger and cable don't support PPS, Samsung charging system, I happened to fail to charge my s22 ultra with Chinese products. I recommend Samsung products or the newest Chinese one supporting PPS. My Samsung 45w charger and cable charge working good fast charging
I've never understood the fascination with ultra fast charging. This morning, my S22 Ultra was at 30%. Plugged in for 10-15 minutes while I got ready and left at 81%. I keep it between 25 and max of 85 (I turned battery saver option on in settings) and it's been great. Plenty fast for me...
I think 45W chargers are aimed at buyers with poor power management routines (such as my wife) whom constantly forget to charge the phone and prevents them to leave the home before they top up to an acceptable level. Every minute is then precious.
No. The point isn't that it's much faster to 100%, it isn't, but in 30 minutes you get 10% more charge. Unless you have a cable at every location, home/work etc... plus carry around a battery pack we all need that bit more juice before going out sometimes. Even those with good "power management routines" 🙄
Would anyone know why my Cygnett chargeup reserve (2nd gen) will only cable charge my S22 Ultra. I know it will never super fast charge but it used to at least fast charge my note 9. It will start fast charging and then turn off. Anyone had a similar issue?
So if i was to buy a 25w charger for my s22 ultra would the included cable in the box of my s22 ultra be okay or would i need to order the charger with the wire? Great video by the way👍
Thanks for this video, really informative. Since I'm upgrading from an S9+, I really needed to get a charger. Ordered the 45W brick online but the Samsung Experience Store that I made my pre-order in, gave me a 25W brick to my surprise. I didn't return my 45W brick and kept both for home & office use. There wasn't a significant difference in the charging speeds at all.
Heeeey, we made the same jump. I also graduated from the S9+, to an Ultra, specifically. It's so much faster. This was my first time buying a fast charging box, though, which is nice because it was taking 4+ hours to charge before and now it's down to about an hour.
10:52 Apple 96W is actually slower than both 25W and 45W power adapters from Samsung. Reason is that Samsungs uses PPS protocol for fastest charging and Apple power supplies do not support it, so you will end up with 15W charging speed. While i gets job done in ~ 1,5 hours, it is still not its maximum. For instance your Baseus has PPS support so it worked as 45W Samsung adapter. Reason for using PPS is to bypass phone's built in charging circuit and directly feed battery from power supply to reduce waste heat in phone damaging battery health in long term. For that you need however accurate voltage regulation and that does the PPS protocol by being able to go in 0.02V steps. If PPS is not available, Samsung uses 9V and steps it down with in-built charger, but to prevent overheat charging speed as capped at ~ 15W. This is list of power supplies where 25+ W charging worked on my S21 - ASUS 30W - Xiaomi 65W - Anker nano II 65W - Satechi 100W
Great video. 👍...a slight correction, however. The cable insulation will not have any affect on heat generation. The size of the 5A conductors are larger than the 3A, thus capable of carrying more current and generating less heat.
I was blown away how fast it charged using superfast enabled and the difference between using a cheaper cord and the cord it came with. I was only able to obtain superfast with the stock cord. Also I have my s22 ultra set on battery protect.
Yes. I own multiple chargers. From a 12 to a 25 to a 45 watt. The 45 watt is definitely faster but not super noticeably faster. If you already own a 25 watt you may want to save yourself some money and stick with it. If time is really a serious issue then go for the 45 watt. If you mainly only charge overnight while sleeping then UT really doesn't matter. Even go for a wireless charger in that case
I never even knew samsung already had a 45 watt charger, I literally thought this was the 1st year it was released. Boy have I been missing out! I LOVE how fast my phone charges with the 45 watt charger, it's honestly amazing. LOVE SAMSUNG
I feel like the higher wattage chargers are better used as a portable charger. Throw it in your backpack or car. Most of the time your at home you're gonna have plenty of time to charge it up at 10-25 wats.
I think ever since the Note 7 debacle Samsung has been extra safe about the charging and overheating issues. I wonder how other Chinese manufacturers and their super fast charging capabilities live up to their charging speed and overheating issues.
I actually found a pretty decent deal on a discounted Samsung super fast charger duo wich has a type C max 35w and type A at max 15w, around 20€, I see no reason to buy the 45w one because there is really no difference compared to the 25w in the full hour of charge waste of money
Thanks for this video, i just replaced my Note 10+ with S22 Ultra and you save me from wasting $50 for Samsung's 45W charger. I'll just use my old 25W charger which is BUNDLED with my old phone, along with soft case, s pen tip replacement, and AKG wired earbuds. I hate the unboxing experience of Samsung and Apple's flagships today.
Just got this video watch and been 2 years already haha,,,can 120w affect the battery life of my s22 ultra,,120w charger from xiaomi..I need answer please thanks.
My S22 Ultra just refuses to fast charge with Honor 66W charger I have around. Why is it like that? It only fast charges with my old 25W charger I have left from my Note 20 Ultra.
Wrong, wrong, wrong. The whole testing was flawed because (no one reads and Samsung buries the info in the fine print(!) But Samsung notes that to charge at the very highest rate (45W) a compatible device must be set (buried in the settings) to accept ultra fast charging, PLUS it must use no less than a 5A cable (this would = the 5A Samsung Dex USB-C to C (PD 2.0 USB-C 100W capable) cable or a higher grade, USB 3.2 gen 2 cable which takes 5A but also provides vastly faster data speeds if needed. The crap cable in the box was what has been causing this corporate debacle. I know you said it didn't make a difference but that sounded like an afterthought. If the tests were re run with better, thicker gage cables of the proper type (it is NOT heat in the cables -- the higher cables have a chip in them that tells the charger to gi higher. The base model 3 Amp cable does not and is digitally limited to 25W and under. So a 45W PS-PPD Charger with a cheap 3A cable can only charge at 25W if that. This is a confusing mess of Samsung and the USB C implementation Group's own making. Colored plug ends could have helped as could have more explicit instructions from Samsung (but they didn't want you buying any charger other than theirs so make it look like others won't work by obfuscating the info.... And retailers like BB don't help either. They omit Amps from their base cables data....
Not mine!!! Mine sticks around 40w until 40% then bounced between 29 and 37 until it finally slowed down further at 88%. I can get a full charge in exactly one hour. If you have enough electronics and travel, get a multiport GAN charger that does at least 100w, 140w+ if you have a laptop that pulls up to 100w by itself. Mine is small and portable from SlimQ.
I have a A52 and I don't think it charge up to 25W after 35%, I am not using the original charger but a third party 100W GaN. Not sure if it just my phone or what.
"more insulation equals less heat" what...? There is so much wrong in one sentence that it's hard to get a start... The 5A cable are basically 100W cable that have an e-marker chip on it. and since Samsung's 45W charger use 4.5A, it actually NEED a 5 amp capable cable. and since 5A is bigger than 3A, you need more conductor (wires) to deliver the power, roughly speaking. And hence, thicker cable. So 1st, the thicker cable mainly comes from more conductor instead of insulation. And 2nd, insulation is meant to, well, "insulate", go figure. insulate means that it keeps the heat trapped in, not help it dissipate through the environment. So, yeah, more insulation is bad if you want "less heat".
I have heard the Galaxy S22+ has a battery that is to small and this has been said by users that it struggles at times to perform with glitches in games and apps because of it limited capacity. It has not been out that long and the updates may fix this???😎
7-30-2022, 5:20AM, PST : Hello Michael. Can you help me out here. Why is it when using a wireless charger it charges slower even with a larger charging watt charger? 🐢 😀 🐢 🤔
Yes at least they gave us the options to turn off the fast and super fast charging in the device care..... and even limit charging to 85% to protect battery 🔋 lifetime
Recommend seeing up a Bixby Routine that disables Fast, Super Fast charging, and enabled Battery Protection, then have it set to disable about 20 minutes before your morning alarm. Will still give you a full battery in the morning but won't cause near as much battery fatigue by leaving it on 100% the entire night.
Yes that also works .... but in his conclusion in the review he made a statement "11:23 - 11:30" that we should have the options to turn it off or on when when we want to that why am trying to point 👉 it out .... it already exist
@@EbenezerBonney I hear you. It's just a pain to do it manually each time. Apple and Pixels have the feature baked in already. I do think he meant we should have the option to use all of it's charging potential even if it damaged the battery long term.
@@marcochavane3124 Right, I think he meant in the context of the charger dropping wattage as the battery charge increased, i.e. give us a "Really Really Super Fast Charging" option that delivers say 35-40W all the time till full charge. Then make it the default and make lots of money on battery replacement!
Many s22 ultras are having issues charging! If you let them die completely - frequently when you plug it in to charge you will get a grey circle with a lightening bolt. It's hard to get it to charge once it is like that and if you do get it to charge..it's random. Can you do a video on why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks!
My issie with the s22 ultra. Ive owned it for a week now and already have charging problems. It will only charge to 85% and then a msg pops up and says charging is paused. Why???? What can i do to resolve this?
This video has nothing to do with Charging Mystery or any solving. This is a battery charging testing comparisons plus an advertising for a 3rd party charger. 12.5 minutes of wasted time.
Thanks. So basically marketing, Samsung love adding bigger and bigger numbers to please the demographic that buy the Ultra. Real fast charging is dominated by the Chinese OEMs that are miles ahead of Samsung in charging and battery tech. I am overnight charging so fast charging is not important, so Samsung charging to make the battery life longer suits me fine.
This is nothing like my experience. only fast charges on samsung chargers.doesnt fast charge or superfast charge from any other than samsung. tried no name chargers, apple ipad fast charger, laptop power brick, oppo 60w charger. only regular charging. Video is misleading
I mainly only charge overnight. Still use Apple's bundled 5w charger cube 😂 battery still at 100% since last year. Doesn't even get warm unlike the 20w charger that Apple used to bundle for the max
I think fast charging is sufficient enough. But that's just me but I thought it was interesting today when I saw my new charger pop up at super fast charging
My new Baseus 65W GAN charger shows Super Charging 2.0. Also got a 100W PD 3.0 charging cable with wattage display. When battery is below 30% I've seen as high as 43W briefly but it hangs out a lot in the mid to upper 30's, which is totally fine with me. Still half the charging time of my iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Will it disconnect and reconnect multiple times in the initial stage of charging? I have aukey 90w charger with this issue. It shows super fast charge 2.0 but it stays stable only after few disconnections.
If you test the settings of what's what with charging you will find that fast charging on or off does nothing. Super fast charging only puts charging to fast. Samsung is being crooked and not addressing the issue giving their consumers the impression that there are 3 charging options when there are not.
Thanks bro. I have a 25 watt brick from my old s20 plus. But Its super buggy and takes multiple trail to get it work. I was thinking of getting the 45 watt brick for my new S22 ultra. But it seems like its not worth it.
Even though I like samsung phones but I would like Samsung to at least have 65w. What year is it now 2023 for godsake. Compared to realme or any other Chinese phone company is like comparing a snail to a car
two question: 1. What if I charge samsung galaxy s22 ultra with samsung's 45 W charger everyday? will it affect life span of battery if my environment where I charge my mobile is 27 to 28 degree celcius and till 85% ? 2. What if I charge it till 100 % everyday with same 45 W charger in same environment? will it affect life span of battery of s22 ultra?...thank you .....
Although sponsor come into the video, but you really made a very detail charging review video for s22 ultra. Thumbs up! (More specifically, samsung need charger support PD PPS 3.3V~11V 5A, most important is the 5A PPS, generally other Charger support 3A PPS only)
@@gadgetmatch thanks for emailing them. It's been 9 hours and it still doesn't work, so perhaps they're not being completely upfront with you? Just a thought.
Hi Louis, just heard back from Baseus! The code has now been reset to work from March 27-30. But they’re having another promo March 26th (tomorrow) and the 31st, if you want to jump on those savings instead!
Well, there you go. I've just ordered a new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (three cheers for Prime Days and how it encourages competition) and all I have is 10w chargers. Listened to what you said about the Baseus Powercombo, used your link to click over to it, and got it with a Prime Days cost reduction. It'll come in handy when I take my first cruise (sorry, crossing) in December. So though I just happened to click on this video and I don't know you from Adam, you've had a positive (I hope) effect on my life. My commendations to you, sir.
I disabled all the fast charging under settings. And it takes 2hrs 15mins to fully charge using 25W charger. I don't mind the time, as long as my battery stays healthy. Am i wrong here and should i use fast/super fast charging options
In India new 45 watt Samsung EP- T4510 charger still not available. Some Samsung retailers advised me to buy 25 watt charger instead of old 45 watt charger for S22 Ultra, because of less heat & better battery health. Is it true ? Or should I go with old 45 Watt charger ?
This is a little misleading. I have a 45 watt charger and I am able to see how much power goes into the S22 ultra and I have seen power levels reach as high as 47 watts between 0% and 15% battery charge. After that, the wattage starts dropping down the higher the battery percentage.
