For a more in-depth comparison and explanation of differences check out this piece I wrote for GadgetMatch.com www.gadgetmatch.com/buyers-guide-galaxy-s22-vs-s22/
I am watching in Samsung s22 the reason why choosing the regular s22 is that I could not justify the price of the s22 plus the regular is 98% of what the s22 plus features it costs a lot more and is not as great value as you get from the regular s22 I like to have a smaller phone because it's more compact easier to hold by one hand it's rare to find a phone this powerful for its size the extra features that s22 plus provide is not worth it for me the brightness I will never use to max I don't need wifi 6e because 6 it's already huge of upgrade from my iPhone 6 and that battery doesn't matter because it's last all-day and s22 regular have a higher pixel density meaning is sharper than the plus model. Don't get too tricked by the s22 plus bigger battery because its larger 6.6-inch screen means that the display will use more power than regular so the battery difference is not that big to think wisely before making your purchase
I'm upgrading from the s10e to the s22. I think it's worth the upgrade for a bigger screen, bigger battery, faster charging, better camera. And I like the new design. Perfect time to upgrade for me
@@zegarzakarianewlife good point. but I just don't like having a phone any bigger. I might switch to iPhone 14 to utilize the better battery performance. I wish that iPhone would have multi window features tho.
Though I’m concerned about the battery life, I have to admit I really love the size and design of the s22. I’ve never had an S series Samsung and considering trying it this year.
The baterry life is great. Obviously in a year or two its gonna be less but with samsung it really depends on the hard drive space you have. The less space you have left, the faster the battery will die. Just delete some stuff and itll be great again
You guys should've showed/talked about the design differences in the frame when you were showing the S21 next to the S22. The S22 has a full aluminum frame vs just a skinny aluminum strip on the S21s, this results in a better feel in the hand and grip. They're very different to one another.
This video has literally been the most helpful one I've seen. Thank you for really focusing on these two phones & doing a side by side comparison! Really helps those of us who are on the fence about which one to purchase.
And after a week of having the regular model. I see no problems in the battery life, now....I am coming from an S10+. The size is different but the phone it self is definitely premium
I'm still using the s10. Almost went with the 22+ but there's so little difference, I went with the 22. Plus I have small hands, a bigger display would make taking a selfie impossible. The battery and screen on the 22+ are better but I doubt it'll matter to me as I'm still perfectly satisfied with the specs on the s10.
@@fanx7 I haven't got it yet but watched some videos on the s22. It seems like it's going to be a step up but no SD card or phone jack. I kept my s10 and didn't trade it just in case i don't like it.
UWB is useless in Indonesia, even Apple's Air Tag cannot be used properly here. i think s22 is the best choice, especially for those who are tired of holding a bigger phone.
I have an S10+ and was considering trading up,....until I did a full side by side comparison. You're really only getting better data services with 5G (redundant when you consider data caps, should you have one with your provider), same RAM, same storage (now with no Micro SD support), slightly better performance, lower pixel density, no 3.5mm headphone jack, a better camera, and a slightly larger battery. Trade in with an S10+ in excellent condition, your total comes to $750 for the 128 GB model (not including tax + shipping). My S10+ might not be "lightning fast" but fast enough that I can't justify dropping $750, even for a model that's 3 years newer.
I just traded in my spare pixel 5 and with the Samsung promo TMobile gave me a total of $665 credit which I used towards the s22plus . Not bad for a spare phone. Primary phone is pixel 6
Only issue is the s10 line stopped receiving firmware and software updates at the end of last year, so after time it'll suffer from software rot and just regular slowdown. As an s10 user, your 100% right about the screen differences, but due to the newer tech on the s22 line, I'm certain it won't be noticeable going from 3040x1440 to 2340x1080. Guess you just gotta weigh the pros and cons, plus newer apps might not run on old firmware on the s10 line.
@@Ohhsoodead I didn't know about the support stop end of last year, dang... But yeah, when you're talking about a 6" - 6.5" display, you're right about it hardly being noticeable.
Pre-ordered the Galaxy S22 6.1"inch Pink Gold colour variant because my Galaxy S8 is dated now and after 5 years its the right time to upgrade to the next big thing hehe! 😁
I'm upgrading from the S20+, to green S22+. The Samsung website kept crashing on me mid-order. It took about 3 hours before I finally was able to complete the purchase. By the time I finally got to check out, the fast chargers sold out, so I couldn't use a part of my $150 promo for it. I got $480 trade value for my S20+
Same thing happened to me with the free credit for accessories. Once I received my new device, I started a chat with Samsung and told them what happened. They ended up giving me the remaining credit via a coupon code. You just have to ask for the credit reimbursement.
This is my very first purchase of a latest mobile ever! I've always had the standard 2019/20 phones but can't wait to get my hands on the S22 plus which is being released in New Zealand in March
@@bungchowkappo1293 waste of money. The only good thing about it is the quality of photos and videos. Other than that mu Huawei Prime Y9 2019 is much better than this phone
The s22+ has a slightly bigger battery but the screen is also bigger so there is really much difference for the battery FIY. You get a little bit of a bigger screen but it's not worth $200 more. Maybe $100 more. I prefer smaller phones so S22 was my choice. Specs are the same between the two phones. I can't handle big phones.
@@Flash363 I said s22 being smaller the s22 plus and ultra would be bigger of course there’s nothing wrong with people wanting smaller variant I just don’t feel the bigger phones should basically be like smaller version with a bigger screen ya know if they’re gonna replace note with s22 ultra it should still come like the note
Then again maybe the entry level s22 can do 8-12 gigs ram the plus can do 12-16 gigs and ultra 16-18 gigs then for storage I'd bring bag expanded storage and each phone could have 3 sizes of onboard storage maybe or do 1 or 2 sizes then can add micro SD card if you need more storage say up to 2tb
@@darkshotz6034 yes you're right I was just trying to make them like some of the build a gaming PC good better best type deal I was an overkill kind of guy lol
8:44 Regular S22 has 1300 Nits brightness. The plus model has 1750Nits...similar to Ultra. There's faster 45W fast charging on Plus & Ultra only. UWB and Wifi 6E on plus & Ultra only. And the bigger batteries on Plus and Ultra means they're gonna last way longer.
No, dont think their batteries last longer. Their screen sizes are much larger as well. I believe all 3 S22 phones dont last even 1 full day on a charge. Samsung has always been very bad with their batteries and also very slow charging. Even the 45W is outdated and not fast
Hey man this is the first video I've ever seen on your channel. I'm a conservative buyer and usually when I buy expensive products I do research until I get sick. I was considering buying the S22 and I've done a lot of research, but this video sealed the deal for me. My one concern about the phone was battery life. However, I have seen a few drain tests and I can confirm that the phone lasts slightly longer than the S21. I'm upgrading from my very slow Galaxy A20, so I'm prepared to be wowed.
Right there with you brother, i feel the same way. My main concern is that i can use it with only one hand (as i've been accustomed with 2000's cell phone era). And this video helped me to be even more convinced that S22 it's the best for my needs.
Please ignore if someone already mentioned this to you but please change the launch date-year to 2022 instead of 2021 @ 9:38. I was getting these phones for free through ATT promotion in US and got bummed when I saw this is a 1+ year old phone??? Then realized its a mistake on the video and was launched only this year Feb (2022).
Definitely would be. The UI service is smooth as can be & offers so many options for you to optimizein your hands if you want . Coming from somebody who has a s20 FE, I just got my s22
Im a little worried about the battery overheating when I play games. In this case does it matter if I get the S22 or S22+ ? I'm wondering if the battery size makes a huge difference
@@pizzalikepizza because the ultra model is superior to the s22 and S22+ in every single way. No need to make the bessels symmetrical since everything else is perfect for the ultra.
Today finally lunch i watched every day search on youtube finally lunch today my dream smartphone i have never exprience high level smartphone case my level is j2 core now bt i want to hard word then thats the point now im writing bt that not only writing its my deep feeling 😊😊🌏
I came here for a comparison and advice. I heard more "links in description to other video" blah blah then actually talking about the devices. You're trying to sell you channel more then giving and good information. Super annoying. Not watching again
I really love compact size phones. Currently I've been using the s10 5G w/curved display and I'm kinda confused because when I try the s22 models in store it feels great on the hand esp. the flat display. Although before I love curved display because it feels bezzel less.
I wish S22 has same plastic material as S21 so it is lighter. S21 is looking as premium. The only downsides with S22 is poor battery life. It should have same quality display and cameras as its bigger siblings also.
Is it me or did I not catch anything about sound? Speakers are a big deal to me. Stereo sound. Im thinking for the money it has decent sound, its just nice to hear about it. Video seems incomplete somehow.
S22 plus also has a better thermal and cooling. can't wait to see the difference of the sustain performance, temperature, peak brightness when manually set to the max and when turn on the adaptive brightness, battery life and charging speed... Waiting for the review of s22 plus because it will be my gadgetmatch i guess...
What kind of 8gen1 the s22 series gets? The samsung architecture one or the tsmc one? Heard the Samsung one has serious thermal throttling and lesser battery life.
A good practical comparision of new mobiles. I shall wait for the battery endurance results. Since I use I Ph 13 Pro Max, battery is important for me. A comparision with I Phone 13 would be welcome in speed test. Good video and Good luck for the next one
My issue is this. Do I go s21fe because if the battery and the price is cheaper. Not by much but it is cheaper. My main phone currently is the iPhone 13 pro max. The thing that scares me about the s22 is the battery. And yes I know there is the plus but I don’t want to spend over 1000 for a phone that I will be bouncing between my iPhone and whatever Samsung I end up getting
I think we are gradually going for smaller phones. The only issue is battery performance. Btw i don't know why samsung is not providing perfect chip and camera as cheaper brands like Oppo and Xiaomi. Next thin i doubt to buy a Samsung phone is that i have to buy the charger myself😕
I was confused when you showed the prices in Php when you are based in US. Liked it tho cuz I am Filipino lol loved the short yet vv informative video!
I just got a s22 plus and I want to trade it in for a regular one 😩 the phone is way bigger & heavier than I thought it would be. Especially coming from a S10
What's scarry me overall in thoses kind of test is that visibly, people who reach the best battery improvement, work essentially with a phone, why don't buy another phone, whereas this S22? In my job, I work each day 9 hour on PC as drafter and I don't need to play game, scroll on Insta or view vidéos... All thoses kind of test depend of the job and the time you have in your life to use it intensly. And you can recharge it at home. Don't forget to preserve your phone by switching off it each week, he will be grateful
I was expecting the battery to be sub par from reviews but I mean 5 to 5.5 hours of on screen time is worse then my old S9 with a smaller battery size and I could get 9 hours on screen time. Yea. Not cool. Lol. I expect this to get worse with time. I am thinking of going for the S9+. The Ultra is too big and has known issues. To be honest the S9+ isn't much better for battery.
red flags abound whenever the battery shrinks. in my experience, whenever sammy shrinks a battery from one year to the next and they tell you that software will make up the difference...this doesnt happen. i was majorly disappointed going from the gear s3 frontier to the galaxy watch 3 in terms of battery life. it was a clear regression. they shrunk the battery and prioritized storage over it. which to me makes zero sense, how much stuff are we stroing on a watch? now theyre asking us to trust them with the s22. idk man, dont piss on me and tell me its raining.
Me too. This phone will never last 1 day. And thinking of a quick charge with a 850 euro top line phone in 2022 from Samsung. Forget it, only 25W charging. Will take at least an full hour for a full charge.
''not to worry though, this year they have glass backs'' why do you even say this ? the s21 ultra is supposed to have a glass back but it genuinely feels like EXTREMELY CHEAP plastic. and no it's not jus my unit... i've had over 3 different units including one from the official samsung website and they were all the same. and i also found out i'm by far not the only one with this exerience
there should be a 50-100 dollar difference between the regular and the plus model because it's pretty much just a bigger screen paying 200 dollars for a slightly bigger screen is silly. Therefore the s23 should start at 749 s23+ 799 and s23 ultra 999 or 1099. Make 256GB base storage and 16GB ram across the board for ultra while the regular and the plus come with 256GB base 12GB ram. 8GB ram is more upper mid-range.
