As someone who switched from always Pixel to S23 Ultra, i really do miss the Pixel camera. The shutter is much faster, the blurred pictures are maddening. I love my s23 Ultra as i haven't had any bugs or issues which plagued my Pixel experience. Hope in the near future both can up their foldables with better cameras and i'd love to grab one of them.
Yeah, these camera comparisons from "reviews" such as this are trash. Samsung has slow shutter and shutter lag to boot - I agree that Pixel lifts up the night shots too much though. Also no word on battery life, efficiency out of wi-fi. No word about the overall software experience, polish, smart features, bloat, and so on.
@@MakanGanGo into camera settings (S23 Ultra) and select Advanced Intelligence Options. Now select which level of Quality Optimization you want. It is on Maximum by default. Selecting Medium will speed up picture capture time at the expense of Optimization. Selecting Minimum takes pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing them when they are taken. Adding to this, you can also go into Camera Assistant in Settings, and you can select Quick Tap Shutter to take an image the instant your finger touches the shutter button, not when you release the shutter button as by default. Below Quick Tap Shutter selection is the Prioritize Focus over Speed toggle which is on by default. I toggle this off to stop the camera spending as much time focusing at the expense of shutter speed. When you are in Camera Assistant I would also recommend setting Picture Softening to Medium to stop all that oversharpened looking rubbish Samsung gives by default. The S23 Ultra has a fantastic camera system when you take control of it, but Samsung's default settings on it are very poor.
I'm currently rocking both, the pixel 8 pro has the better camera sometimes, sometimes to close and not sure where your getting the shutter lag from, my issue with the s23 ultra camera is oversharpening and how it processes the colour green
Both are great. Depends entirely on your different needs. I dont understand the competition between devices ( fans have created the competition) be nice if Samsung reduced their bloatware a tad. The last time i had a Samsung i had 2 of everything ( some apps) which was somewhat confusing
bloatware and image processing - i own a s23u, the pictures dont look natural, unless you can tingle witht the pro cam settings. other than tha: P8P - better natural photos, cheaper... S23U - better speakers, screen and battery life = 3 most important things in a phone + has Spen, better zoom, stronger CPU/GPU for gaming... But the p8p is cheaper, in some countries. In my country, all 256 vs 512gb version cost the same. so I took the s23u, cause of battery and speakers mostly.
Thank you for a great video. I have gone through phases of brand loyalty with android phones forever. I have had more Samsung devices in the grand scheme by far, but I haven't had one since the Note 7. Yeah I know, that was forever ago. I really liked the S pen when that feature came out. I swithced over to OnePlus and started with the 6T pro when it hit the market. I loved the fact that there wasn't much bloatware with their phones. I was loyal to them until the Pixel 7 Pro hit the market, and that's what I have been using for the last year. I just got a Pixel 8 Pro, I haven't even unboxed it yet but I will as soon as the screen protector and case (Mous) gets here. I do agree that if something costs more, it should be better than the item it competes against, I don't think the Samsung is that much better for the price difference though.
I own both and swap often. Cameras, go to the pixel unless you want extreme zoom or selfies. Google Pixel features mean more to me than a pen and dex that i rarely ever use. Ever. No issues with heat. But i don't game. Both have comparable battery life in my usage.
S23 Ultra is just 2023 smartphone 👑. Flat and bright display are good improvements from last years for Pixel. Photography is still a great reason to buy Pixel but Performance, Battery Life, OneUi features, S-Pen ... have more value than Google AI. Also, it would be fair that Tech reviewers adress that Google features are not available the same way outside of USA. I won't pay for a smartphone which is not complete neither. Those Pixel are beta version for Google, waiting 2025 for this new Tensor with TSMC.
I came from the s22 ultra and went to the pixel 8 pro. So far i love the raw android experience. Its the snappiest phone ive ever used, ive heard peoples complaints about battery and performance but in my experience at minimum its much snappier than my s22 ultra.
Pixels manage to give arguably the best experience while at the same time never being the top of any benchmark or spec sheet. People love to throw out numbers for why you shouldn’t like a Pixel, yet Pixel fans know the experience is the only thing that matters. The Galaxy is the jack of all trades master of none.
Pixel is ok , but in some ways its still behind other flagships in software , take away all the gimmicky crap , and it is just another phone , even some of its hardware is very yesterday , like the annoying finger print sensor that works when it wants to , or the very hit miss Face ID , however , it is reasonably snappy most of the time , although photo processing can be slow as hell at times . would I buy one again ? I have mixed feelings.
behind other flagships in software, what do you mean? Pixels get the latest Android software updates first before any other Android phone along with all the new Android features. Are you aware that Google which makes Pixel also makes Android? The fingerprint sensor works fine maybe not as fast but you also get to use Face Unlock to sign in and authentication on bank apps a step better than any Android phone. I'd pick the Pixel 8 Pro phone for snapping photos over everything else, any day. And the new coming Feature Drop in December we will be getting Video Boost, another game changer in mobile videography going forward. @@mikldude9376
My Samsung S23 Ultra is king. I came from an iPhone 12 pro max so I switched over to a Samsung and never looked back. I did own the Pixel Plus before the iPhone so I went with the Samsung and I have to admit that Samsung is the king of smartphones hands down. Samsung Battery life is top-tier
You should also have mentioned enhanced software customization with Good Lock on the S23U, whereas the Pixel 8 Pro only offers vanilla Android. For example, with the One Hand Operation+ module, you can access Quick Tools and favorite apps with a swipe from the left or right of the screen without having to pull down the Quick Settings panel or going back to the home screen.
@@vimalramachandran sure... but last time I had a Samsung phone there was a lot of bloatware and options and settings I didn't want or care for. A lot of those things I couldn't just delete or remove. It was refreshing having a clean experience on my pixel. I appreciate simplicity a bit more as I aged.
@@Low_pH I specifically mentioned Good Lock. It's an additional module that you download for enabling enhanced customization. If you don't want it, don't download it. Simple.
P8P - better natural photos, cheaper...
I own both. S23u has slightly better reception in my experience. But the P8P isn't bad either, just tends to drop calls swapping from cell to WiFi calling when signal is weak. But, both do well in reception
Only problems seem to occur in heavy gaming, but this is where most flagships seem to have issues anyway. They aren't specialist gaming machines after all.
I'm not gonna say these 2 are the best of the best considering there are a ton of other devices out there and have both among others, but if this is your opinion then that's awesome because they are great devices but there are others.
Is no one going to point out the very awkward camera protrusion on the pixel? It makes the phones weight unevenly distributed especially that its on the top portion of the phone. The biggest issue I have with it is that it constantly feels like the phone will fall out of my hand. Even though the ultra is heavier, its weight distribution is equal!!
I had Google pixel 7 pro, I like the pixel great camera good software but the battery life lacks. And I also had problems connecting to my car through Bluetooth not very much updating with the pixel 7 series. You get more updates on the pixel 8 series so I go with Samsung series ultra, plus or s23 or wait on s24 series.
I was contemplating getting the Google Pixel 8 Pro after regretting on getting the S22 Ultra only to move back to my old LG V60 because it still takes better pictures and has way better battery life. But I wanted something outside the traditional...I got an Xperia 1 V ... this is my king 😉
Funny how 3 years of support was never long enough till Google decided to one up everyone and offer 7. We all know the only reason Samsung offered 4 is because if they offered 3 like Google they'd be behind a year of OS updates.
Honestly, unless you're really in need of a phone, you might as well wait since you missed any Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals. Wait and you'll at least see if S24 is the one, or at least the price of S23 should drop hopefully. If this was about 4-6 months ago, s23 ultra would likely have been the better choice.
As long as Samsung keeps filling their phones with your shitty bloatware I will never buy one, I love their hardware and I love the Android system but all that unremovable Samsung just clogs up the phone
I gave my son my Pixel 7 pro and bought myself the S23 and doubt I will ever get a pixel again. The amount of pics and videos I take, the S23 is so much easier and I get better pictures.
It is the top midrange device with a flagship level camera. Camera asides, it flatters to deceive on too many levels for me. It is a good pointer to much better Pixel devices in the future though to be fair.
If Samsung phone becomes 1.6 years old then it gets green line on it's display... So if you want a phone for longer time then never go for Samsung. I am facing green line on my Samsung phone now🙂
AI fakery is everywhere nowadays. If it's purpose is to enhance things then that is okay with some people. I would prefer some way to turn such fakery off.
