Battle royale games burn the phone hard in battery and heat -- especially if you're screen recording at the same time. The phone with the built in cooling fan seems pretty cool on paper. I gotta use a phone cooler to play battle royale functionally with my s24u
Xiaomi's Poco F series is known to cater to gamers, they prioritize performance over other things and are known to be very cheap "gaming" phones. They deliver solid performance for a cheap price compared to other brands, and all other aspects of the phone aren't that far behind. You essentially get just a little less than flagship for a fraction of the price.
I have the Fold 5, love the phone but the translation has really gone down in my opinion, overall it's still an amazing phone even for the premium cost.
I've been saying that for the last 2 years. Why would I buy an Asus gaming phone when I can buy an Asus ROG ally to play a lot more games, and a good phone for around $300 or less and even save money. Plus will still have to devices for entertainment.
I went from S20FE to it and still loving it, but some aí features like voice recording stuff doesn't work leaving me with texts that doesn'tmake sense (at least in portuguese)
Gaming phones are a joke tbh. Outside emulation it's practically a waste of money. I'm yet to see a mobile game worth playing except for a few console ports and gacha games (which seems to be the prevalent genre in the mobile market). The only value I see in it, is if you're a fan of old console games and want to play them all in a device that also acts as a smartphone. But then again you can emulate pretty much all games up to 3DS, PsVita era on a much cheaper phone (Except Xbox/360, PS3, Wii U). Heck my $200 phone can run PS2, GameCube, Wii, PsVita, and 3DS games @ 100% speed, upscaled 3x
I have been using Note 9 Reasons 1. Headfone jack 2. No cut out cam 3. Fingerprint sensor on back 4. Pressure sensitive home button 5. Iris scanner 6. Beautiful form factor I refuse to be allured by those large screen, monster cam, arguments. It won't make me smarter and only 1000 bucks poorer❤
There are good mobile games but they are either gachas (all of Hoyoverse), MOBAs with battle passes (LoL and Pokemon), puzzle games with mtxs, action games better suited for a controller or bullet heaven games. None of those really need a dedicated gaming phone imo, especially if you dislike mtxs in ehich case you will mostly be playing Slay the Spire or Vampire Survivors lol
Bro i had my galaxy note 2 since release until 2021, i changed just bc the display broke and it made more sense to buy another phone entirely. It's funny to me every time i see people bragging about changing their phones every year or two, i suppose they have more money than they need.
High end smartphones are getting too expensive. I used to have Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, Htc M series and Lg G series. But since 2018 i only had too low budget phones, Redmi Note 5 and Moto G Stylus 2022.
5 year OP 7t USA owner here(2019 model), as a chef and constantly putting the phone in danger via water damage and all the grease and debris it only suffered from debris in the usb. That phone fell out of my pocket at an intersection and was run over reapetdly but the screen never cracked. that phone was never IP rated either. The glaring thing with me is the battery, it is true that battery life is anxiety With my 5 year old phone it bacame an issue via debris and i actually pressure washed it but the fact is that batteries die over time and a detractoras well. my phone still works and only dealing with corrosion besides that it is still an extremeley fast phone 5 years later without that fast charging at times ALL I want is a fast charging phone
I wouldn't upgrade a flagship phone very often, but the mid-rangers do need to be updated after about 2 to 3 years. To get the latest tech and better performance. I currently have 3 phones: one flagship phone (Pixel 8), and two mid-rangers: Samsung A54 and Moto G Stylus 2024. I plan on upgrading to the Samsung A56 next year.
this statement now makes zero sense. phones do more than just gaming, and they fit in your pocket. they can receive calls and messages and have mobile data capabilities. the thing you use to hotspot to your steamdeck when you play it outside or on a train with bad wifi. also, the redmagic has an active fan that acts as cooling, it performs much better in games compared to the iphone 15 pro max, because the iphone overheats and throttles in a matter of minutes. need i say more? i have all 3 of the above devices and all of them have their uses.
Dissgree, i love to have a real camera on my sony phone... I used to have a pixel 7 and the camera was horrible, colours were mixed and hdr crazy with out the ability to remove computational photography... Since i have my sony, i am truly in love with this phone and i hope future sony phones still have that charm with the camera app and colours on their pictures. One thing is sure is that the phones are overpriced for wat you get in my opinion. Amd are not sold property because some factors like available, not well branded, and reviewers compare to mainstream phones, this is not. This is a camera with a phone in it.
I bought a used Galaxy s21 ultra last year for about 400€ and I am quite happy with it. No need to upgrade either for next year or so. If there what's a way to use custom roms on Samsung I could use it even longer. Thats why I consider to get a pixel phone next, in future.
