Non-removable glass back, no SD card, no waterproofing or dustproofing... They wanted to make it more like an iPhone, so they adopted the iPhone's worst features.
+iDontbreakPS3 i like the glass panel, i have a powerbank. i like the no-sd card, cause i have dropbox and spotify and the watre-dustproof, don't be idiot to drop your Phone in the water and buy a waterproof case if you really worry
+iDontbreakPS3 nobody likes, but some don't mind. Actually most don't mind. For example me. I never remove the battery and i never use expandable storage, so all i see in the s6 is just improvements
I always felt like the S5, even though it's freaking ugly, wins for me. Because it's waterproof so I don't have to worry about it getting wet, it has SD expansion which I don't have to worry abut saving space, and it has a longer lasting battery. Those factors sadly makes it look like I should get an S5, but I want the S6 :(
+Nawnp MCPE Not really the nano does not really save that much space in modern phones and the data on the chip is the exact same! It only makes the phone have more overall space by about 2% compared to using a Micro Sim!
Darth Awar I know size isn't that much an issue anyways, what I said was future support so that if you change phones with nano sim to nano sim is better then micro to nano. As far as size is, it doesn't make much a difference on any smartphone, maybe size is a factor on a cellular smart watch?
Yeah bro, s5 is just more convenient. But It's understandable why they made the s6 so different. They just wanted to shit on the Iphone 6. I'm sticking with my gs5 though.
I don't understand why people care so much about design. I mean, when I buy a phone I don't buy it because it's fucking pretty, I buy it because of the specs, because of the features, because of what it can do. The S5 is a very good phone, I had my 4G+ version for a month now and I coudn't be more satisfied. Oh and In my humble opinion If you already have a S5 don't go for the S6, it looses a lot of features and It's not worth the upgrade.
Personally, I would go S5 hands down. It looks like Samsung just copied apple. Android is known for its expandable storage and removable battery. I see no point in getting a phone that just looks nice. Sure it's fast and has a good camera, but you're really not going to notice a difference between the two phones. But this is just me, anyone agree?
why ppl care so much about the design idgaf I'm buying a cover no matter what the design looks I have an s4 right I forgot the last time I saw the actual phone lol
Rancy809 you have an s4 that's why you wouldn't care for the design. The s6 especially the edge is a sexy beast that needs to be paraded. Just don't drop it though.
Akshit Kapoor yes I already updated my gs5 it's a great new version the only inconvenience on this version is that the battery drains little faster than the 4.4.2.
Although I do like the design of the new S6, I don't see why they didn't make the sides look like the Note 4? The square design is easier to hold on, AND the Apple Lemmings wouldn't have called it a copycat of the iPhone's design. It didn't seem like a wise choice to me.
Howard B if they had just made a smaller note 4 I would've been a lot happier with the design. I get how the S6 stays more true to samsungs phone design that they started with the s3 but the s4 was such a good move in premium quality.
Howard B well it obviously is a copy of Apple's design ideas, but that's because they're getting more desperate after the huge profit crash that occurred after the s5 release
I live a highly sophisticated lifestyle which is why I exclusively use Porsche Design Blackberry phones. My cousin cleans out septic tanks for a living and he uses Windows Phone.
I like my S6. For waterproofing and expandable memory there's cases for that but I think they come in either or. I dunno if they have all extra battery life, water resistive, and expandable memory in one case. That's really nice about the S5 but I love the camera on the S6. I'm a bit of a photo bug.
Its so annoying when people whine about not having expandable memory and a removable battery. I have the iPhone 6, which has none of those. But id MUCH rather have a beautiful, sleek metal phone than a plastic piece of shit😂😍😍
Beatuty doesn't mean everything in phones. In fact iPhones don't even have some features that have been on android for a while. IPhones also are extremely limited lmao. Rather have an "ugly" phone instead if a phone that's pretty and has no features. Let me guess you're one of those people who do no research on the phone and just buy it because of the looks.
Oxi Clean I've had android too. Laggy, shitty things. And no I didn't have cheap ones. The last android phone i had was the galaxy s6 edge. And I'm still on my first iPhone, and I couldn't be any happier with the looks, performance, and camera quality! I'm in love!!
Aaaaaand that all doesn't matter when you get a case for it... Also have fun with the iphone bending because the aluminum isn't durable at all and it completely breaking because of sweat.

"1950s diner stool edges" is exactly how i described the s5...Michael Fisher have my babies, i think we're soulmates
Commandosoap777 have you tried using a s6? the internal storage speed is basically much faster than conventional ones, yeah that includes class 10 sd cards. Personally I never used a external sd and never removed my battery. So for me it's a great upgrade.
I'm glad you don't disable the comments like other reviewers. I know their are lots of trolls but you also get real questions from people who respect you and pocket now. So thanks again. I still love my note 4 but the s6 and s6 active are very nice.
Who the fuck cares about a removable battery and sd card. I have an iPhone 6, and it has none of those and im SO glad, cuz id rather have a beautiful, sleek metal phone than a plastic piece of shit😂😂😂😍😍😍😍😍👑💖
+Meagen Kasey good for you and if you think these are plastic peice of shits, there is no reason for you to be watching these videos and commenting here...........
+Meagen Kasey so you don't care how your phone performs or functions but just how it looks? I hope you don't translate this philosophy into the real world....
S5 isn't too bad, I'm using one myself, with a 64gb SD card, but right now I'm not gonna upgrade to the S6 just do to the fact there's no SD card slot, they couldn't do what Sony did and add it too the side?
WOW this Channel is getting better and better, Unlike the other biased channels.. you guys really stick the the beauty of Android phones. Great job guys.
yea it was a father's day special at best buy.. free Samsung smart TV and a seperate Samsung promotion buy a galaxy s7 beetween like June 1st and 19th get a free vrgear
I've had my S5 for a year now and I really like this phone. It's my first android after using iPhone for a few years. The plastic faux metal sides and the 'Glam' back I really don't like haha but other than that I feel fine waiting to see what Note 5, and apple will offer later this year..
I own an S5(octacore)... About the performence... it is smooth as butter (thanks to 5.0 update) And now it is avalable at pretty cheap price as compared to GS6... Cameras are simillar on both but s6 takes lead at night... Ofcourse GS6 is gr8t fone ... i like it very much But ... if u want a gud fone at cheap price GS5 is best at its pricerange (considering every aspect)
Thank you for the comparison. I'm a construction worker and was thinking of upgrading but with the comment of tool belt you cleared my mind. Excellent reviews as always.
Even if I could afford it, I would go with the S5 without a doubt. Both are available on Boost Mobile which I have and I have the Samsung Prevail LTE and its like an mini S5, so what does that tell you about the phone that I prefer, If it doesn't have a removable battery and SD card slot support, I'll pass. IP67 certified I don't care about because I have have it near a toilet or puddle anyway even though with the S5, the feature is there just in case and for most, just in case, its a good feature to have. At least I can put stuff to an SD card to save space and swap out a battery when it doesn't hold a charge anymore and keep the phone until it breaks or I change carriers and forced to change phones anyway.
I'm not highly in favor of any one manufacturer or OS over another but part of this proves a point that annoys me with almost all but Apple; even though you could argue iPhones might not have as many features to begin with, Apple never takes any steps backwards: even if only slightly, it's always perfected or improved in some way, but with Samsung (removal of expandable storage, removable battery, water/dust resistance etc.) and HTC (camera particularly: they're just jumping everywhere with the 2 sensors in the M8 then removing that and drastically changing megapixel count with no improvements or worse optics). It's annoying because people will like/need some of those features for them to just be removed instead of improved next generation and it just seems stupid to me.
I want to know how battery life is on the galaxy S6 considering mixed daily usage gaming browsing videos ?I am not sure whether to get s6 or s5 I am currently on note 2
I still don't understand why looks are so important. When their size is so similar, you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference over 2ft away, especially if they were the same colour, and it would be near impossible when in hand. I'd go with the S5, simply because of my lifestyle. It is the better all rounder for sure and is only trumped slightly OIS on the S6's camera. I've not managed to slow my wife's S5's RAM even though it is 1Gb shy of the S6's. Save a boat load a cash and go with the S5. Or better still, the Note 4!
S6 all bullshit, S5 way better as it is waterproof, dustproof, removable battery, expandable memory... why the hell would u upgrade to a device which has less features and functionalities than the previous one, silly..
Hello everyone! I want to buy either the S5 or S6. The problem is that I can't decide which one to buy! Both phones seem great to me. I had a lenovo A6000 till now lol. The S6 seems to have the edge because it has 3gb of RAM and newer OS but I don't like the fact that its battery can't be removed. Could you please help me decide?
internet people, what should i pick? s5 or s6? i like s5 for its durability and long battery life and memory card s6 however is pretty and better performance from what i know i have a lifestyle which i do a lot of youtube and play games on phone while using other applications, im also clumsy what do you reccomend?
Joep Stuyfzand well yeah good point bro but I dearly want to switch from samsung because it just got plain boring. Allways the same bloatware and shitty touchwiz
The 5s is a good phone but the camera is lacking when it should be better since it's a 13 megapixel camera. The S6 is faster and have better resolution and camera display. The glass feel in the S6 makes the phone feel more expensive and feels similar to an iPhone. The S5 feels cheaper since the backing is plastic.
I am still stuck with the Galaxy S3, and don't know which to choose. Both have features the other would be better with. It's like COD: AW and Ghost. Maybe Samsung takes what users like and dislike and create a much better device. I don't take many pictures, so 32GB is plenty of storage. The main issue would be the battery life, in my opinion. The S5 being water/dust proof is an advantage, but then again, I am pretty good with taking care of my things.
I love my galaxy s5 but one thing I dislike about it is the front camera, it is very bad quality. But the s6 improved so much especially on the front camera. The s6 takes such beautiful pictures.
I was excited to update to the s6 until i learned about all the features that were taken away (shorter battery life, Removable battery, Removable memory card, and WATER RESISTANCE) I will keep my S5 and hope Samsung will do an actual upgrade next year. Plus I personally don't care for its Iphone style. Just my 2 cents...
what i find funny is alot of people will say the s5 sucks because its older. but in the end it will be cheaper to buy and it will. still be a high end phone and you will still get amazing photos and video off the camera
I love design, I have always usually been an Iphone user, I think the feel and look of the phone is just as important as the hardware itself. I got the gold platinum version s6 and expect it in tomorrow. As a user of both android and IOS, I think it's good to swap now and again, and now that samsung are taking notice of quality rather than the usual plastic stuff It makes my purchase so much more worth it.
"1950's bar-stool look" regarding the S5? Thank you! I hated that look so much, that when the S5 came out, I chose to get the S4 over the S5. Regarding the S6, the 64GB version will be more than sufficient for me. In my life, between my smartphone and iPod, I've never carried more than 32GB of music at any given time - my entire digital music collection that I've started back since 2004 is only 47GB. And photos are only like 3MB a piece.
Everyone wants a removable back AND a glass/premium quality phone so I think Samsung should put the battery on the side of the phone. They could put a latch kind of like the waterproofing hatch in front of the charging port on the s5, but a lot bigger and for a battery
I use now the galaxy s5 for a long time. Samsung devices face a camera deamon bug and they still have not fixed that bug, Software updates are so poor and you have 0 response. You must restart again and again your device to use the camera or uninstall apps like viber, skype for a flagship this is a shame and other galaxy models face the same battery drain problem
In this review you guys were right Galaxy S5 will be for someone that is in fitness mode, galaxy S6 will be for that people who is looking for something great looking to shoe in the office. To me my S5 is great and with lollipop I love it even more
Still using an S5, in 2017. My friend tried to sell me an S6 Edge, but when he commanded 250$ I compared the phones, and was not terribly impressed. EVERYONE is trying to offload their S6 now, still demanding a dumb amount of money. pass.
I don't know how people could choose the S5 over the S6, yes yes the S6 doesn't have the SD card and removable battery, or the S5s waterproof feature (which I heard isn't all that) the S6 is a definite improvement.
Many S6 UI from new touchwiz is not avaliable on GS5 even when your S5 is already on Lollipop. Such as the new Homescreen UI which looks more beautiful on S6, S5 keeps the old UI which you can find on kitkat Next is the samsung music player app which incredibly looks nice in S6, you also cant find that on S5. S5 lollipop uses the old music app which you can found on old Kitkat. Which means all the basic software on your S5 will not be the same with S6. Flatten widget, and all of that fancy new widget from S6 will not available on S5 because again S5 still using old widget from KitKat What you get on S5 lollipop is : -The same notification panel with S6 which is very nice -The same recent app style which is card stack kinda looks And maybe that's all you get
