Reasons against edge: Weaker screen and Harder to protect ( curve exposes it to falls) Distorted video edges Harder to hold, more accidental presses Money
yes obviously nexus beats all of them when it comes to updates. but other features r better in s7 edge. n s7 camera is probably the best out there until note 6 comes. (i'm a nexus 6p user)
I went for the standard s7, not actually that impressed with the edge design and functionality, not worth over 100 dollars extra imo. I actually think the standard s7 looks better and more sophisticated design as well.
Yeah! The S7 Edge is a dream to see! I just really want to see how good emulation is on it! I still use the HTC One (M8) with only 2GB of RAM, it runs games like KHBBSFM in 60 FPS fine, but there is lag when too many things are on screen. I want to see the S7 Edge run that with its updated technology, especially that 4GB of RAM!
+FAiD BlueKnight but bare in mind that it's also running QHd if you want 60fps.. Most likely it's impossible... As far my experience 43 fps the highest..
Charlie D yep. Selling my S7 edge and getting the S7 for this exact reason plus it's hard to find a good case for the edge that is going to protect the screen. Mine broke twice, first time I didn't even drop it and the second time it fell about 1-1.5 feet with a drop resistant case on it and shattered the edge and spiderwebbed the screen. There really isn't much difference between the 2 besides the battery, but the S7 edges screen sucks it all up anyways so there really isn't a difference.
I got an s7 edge and my mom has a regular s7 and I can say I regret getting the edge. It's awkward to hold and the curves of the screen are way too agressive. The flat s7 is better to hold, usable in 1 hand and more elegant looking
I'm thinking of switching to Android after 7 years with the iphone. The biggest pull of the S7 Edge over the regular S7 for me would be the battery life. I've tested the Edge out in the shop and am a bit irritated at how often I'd accidentally click on a marginal link b/c of the edge design (and I have tiny girl fingers!) I really do love the large size of the screen and I love how even though their screen sizes are the same, it's actually much smaller overall than the 6S plus and therefore easier to handle. Argh!
I'm with you on this one, probably not a popular opinion but I think the s7 edge is nice to look at but to hold and use I found it clumsy. Just my opinion, no hating
UK style watching through edge exynos. I'm also loved the update that has now made sensitivety of screen much better. I felt too much accidently touching edge features prior to update and photos has improved too on recent update. 👍
U might not understand a little fact.. When u got bigger display your battery is weaker so When S7 got 3000 mph and S7 Edge got 3600 mph but got bigger display than the battery life is pretty that same in both of this phones
S7 is better on the long run! The s7 edge has edge related problems! Glare on the edges are annoying. You have to face the phone straight on. Little off side looking at it shoes glare. Think about it hard.
How is it better.... S7 edge has better looks, more features, a lot better camera, water proof, sd card and most of all android. Not being a fanboy here but starting true facts.
I own a s7 Edge since one Week and i can totally recomment it i was a I phone 4 user so upgradeing was a big step for me not only the tecnology but alsow the operateing system i dont regret changeing to android i am happy that i did it
I have the edge, the screen is beautiful and the battery is amazing, those together create the "edge" this phone has on the regular s7. However, the edge screen has been more annoying than anything, causing me to hit apps or other things without meaning to. Watching RU-vid videos or Twitch is a pain in landscape mode, because I always accidentally touch the bottom of the screen causing the video to skip or any of the other options down there.
+TTechy I had the same problem until I got a case on it now it's the perfect phone in my opinion, battery life is crazy good and the screen is gorgeous.
I have been doing my research on the Galaxy S7 & edge and all your videos on these phones have been so helpful! Too bad all the stores around me don't have any silver S7 Edges in stock.
Had a HTC ONE M8 for about 3 years now, and I can't decide which one I want. I would prefer the extra battery life on the Edge, but the size of it bugs me, which is why I would prefer to pick the S7. That damn battery life though...
I've got EXACTLY the same problem here, I've had my HTC One M8 for 3 years now but I cracked the screen and think it's time for a new one. Which one did you pick and what are your expierences?
+ItsRobin. I got the edge and I love it. There's some features that I do miss from the M8, but they are little, but the features the edge have just amazes me.
you will get bigger screen and a little bit more battery time with s7 edge.the s7 has a 20 percent brigther screen and is easier to use with one hand.i personally got s7.
The s7 edge major drawback is the accidental touch as you grip the sides or try to use one hand to reach across the screen with your thumb. If you don't plan on almost always using 2 hands to do everything on the s7edge, then go with the s7 no question. I have the s7edge and I wish I got the s7. Trying to locally trade it with someone who has the s7.
I've been using my S7 Edge for the past 6 months now and I really like how smooth everything is, unlike older samsungs which tend to get slow as you use it..my phone is still fast! I do have to mention that I really hate the 'edge' on the s7e. It's super annoying and without a case on it's almost impossible to type on as I get random presses by holding the phone. I'm thinking of switching to the regular s7
@@dro3m well android is technically based on linux, so in a way a raspberry pi and anything running Linux runs Android. Also you forgot about this thing called an operating system iso which you can install android with
Great information, thanks for helping me to make my finale decision!! I order the Samsung Galaxy S7! I hope its a good phone after i use my Iphone 5S for many years!! Thumps up for you all guys!
Awesome Sauce! I have the Samsung Note7 and I need to exchange for a new phone . I didn't know which phone to get until I seen your video. At first I was going for the new Lg V20 but now I'm going with the Edge7. Thank you so much!! Job well done explaining the 2..
I had the s7 edge and returned it for the regular s7. I don't like the distortion the edges give when viewing certain things and you can't use glass screen protectors well with it.
Once I got used to the Edge screen on Note Edge, I got spoilt. Ended up passing on the Note 5 (having owned each of the Notes) and getting the S7 Edge instead because I didn't want to lose the edge features. The S6 Edge was too small and the S6 Edge+ still lacked functionality. Hopefully the Note 6 gets an Edge version. :P
The only thing I'm disappointed with is the screen size of the S7 edge. it really doesn't feel like a 5.5 inch display, especially when comparing it to other phones of similar screen sizes. That's probably due to the fact that it's not as wide as other phones of that size. I think I'm going to go back to my Note 5 for the time being. Very nice phone though.
constructive criticism: some of your shots look over saturated . idk what happened. they just hurt my eyes...my screen isn't even bright. everything else is good.
Only thing I dislike is how hard it is to find a good screen protector for my S7 edge! They never stick to the edges. Idk if I should just use it without one but I'm afraid of scratches
I've got S7 when it was launched not because of the price, but because of having a normal, flat screen. I whish there was an S7 with 5.5'' display and a 3600 mAH battery BUT with a FLAT screen! Totally dislike the new S8, not only because of the curved screen, but it has now, more things added that contrtibute on my decision to not actually want that phone, ever: on-screen buttons, rounded display corenrs, being taller with stupid aspect ratio, and the lack of white color.
Main reason I went for the edge was battety life. if battery was even between the 2 might have gone regular S7 though. they are very similar. even the smaller screen doesn't really feel small. I also just discovered a way to shrink down the screen to allow one handed use. you triple click the home button. genius! this phone is awesome!
Why is this even worth the video? Only real differences are the battery, screen size (and therefore overall phone size) and of course the Edge on and its features. Not a hater, I just don't get why it gets another video, it's like the third actual review of each phone.
+Niv Loewenberg Well as someone who is trying to choose between the two its nice to have a video to lay out the similarities and differences- even if they are small. Its good to know either way.
unfortunately had to send my s7 edge back for repair yesterday...I do miss it ... hopefully we'll be fixed in a week rather than 2. for those who are wondering the vibration stopped working.
s7 edge should be here today sometime so excited... gonna have to get use to no boom sound though... I picked it and I didn't even know it was a little better then the s7
Serious question here, is the battery life not comparable on these 2 devices then? I assumed the regular s7 had a smaller battery as the screen is smaller and has no edge features, so expected them to be similar. Is this not the case?
Seems like weeks ago would've been more timely. But still: the regular s7 won for my wife and I: the Edge's screen just didn't look good when watching videos on it at the AT&T store. That whole curve actually made me feel "uncomfortable." All videos they had on it used every bit of the screen--curve and all.
Planning to get the edge, and obviously want to protect it. Putting skins aside, what are the best non-intrusive but still protective cases you guys know for the phone? I want to find the balance of maintaining the beauty of the phone but protect it from scratches and small drops.
If you want a case that protects your phone best as possible while still keeping it slim and sleek, get this one. www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Full-body-Holster-WITHOUT-Protector/dp/B01BLI4FWI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462228122&sr=8-1&keywords=supcase+unicorn+beetle+pro+s7+edge. Best case for s7 edge...
+Jack Cooper pay for the samsung protection+ plan, i think it's a 120$ but it covers any cracks from accidental drops and all that. A phone that looks this good doesn't belong in a case. You get up to 2 new phones a year for 2 years
This video could of been under a minute.....Get the S7 if you want a little smaller phone....that's it. Otherwise get the Edge. Same phone......saved you 7 minutes.
I just bought the S7 Edge and my homebutton only reacts when i press right in the middle. The sides of the button doesn't react unless i press pretty hard. Is this a problem with my phone or is it like that on every S7 Edge?
NaOCl if you already have an s7, and your plan can switch phones for you, you can switch to the s8 when it comes out. If you dont have the s7 yet (like me) im getting it cause its the cheaper option.
I don't have the s7, but im thinking of upgrading to the s7 soon, or waiting for the s8. But i guess, like you said, getting the s7 would be much cheaper
S8 will be out around april...If really need to upgrade right now, then go for the S7 Edge but if you can wait, then I suggest you wait for the S8 because it'll be overall better
Need your recommendation.. Samsung S6 & Nexus 6P both costs the same in my Country right now and I am heavily confused between both these flagships. Which one should I buy ? I am buying one on my Bday this week. What I prioritize on my phone: Good Headphone audio quality for my travelling days, ease of use, Gaming and Camera (I travel a lot) Thanks in advance :)
go fo 6p dude.... it's a note 5 competitor and that price tag does make it a very very reasonable device...I have used it for like 2 months and never had any issue . PS. get the grey one, looks gorgeous
