Is it possible to install the glass the wrong way? Like is is just glass or does it have a lens it it aswell; I ask became I did this replacement about a year ago, and my pictures have been noticably more blurry, Maybe I just didnt clean the glass properly, but if it is a lens, its possible that I have installed it the wrong way around so it doesnt work properly

Is it water resistent after this?

No please consider it not water resistant to avoid bad surprise. Any type of Submerging the whole device is not recommended.

if you remove the glass you need to replace it because dust and other things can damage the camera module.

WARNING! I used this video and the heat from the gun damaged my S9's camera. Now it will not auto-focus and I have to replace the module. Do not use heat unless absolutely necessary.

Really 👀. If the camera was damage and you didn't get it fixed for a while most likely (happened to me) the camera will get bad because things will get inside and seat on the sensor. I probably think yours is something like this. Heat gun can damage only if you use high setting or maximum output then point the heatgun on a single spot for more than 1 second. I am giving more explanation for you to review if you did something that wasn't good practice or it may simply be as bad camera sensor/camera. Camera broken there no way to make sure it's fully functional which is why I say in my videos always check and test the cameras when you remove the glass. You may repair the glass and found out that the camera is bad and it need to be replaced. Sorry to hear things didn't go as planned.

@@ersbit As it happens, I did test the camera prior to replacing the lens, and it was focusing properly. I'm not saying to not ever use heat, but rather to use it sparingly. I used my heat gun in a swirling motion on the low setting for approximately 30 seconds. I suspect this was too much heat, and I am posting this so others can learn from my mistakes.

I thought the same thing happened to me. Autofocus working prior to using heat gun. Autofocus not working after despite being on lowest setting. However found a tip on another RU-vid video that suggested shaking the phone side to side as you open the camera app. Or you can tap top of phone on a table. Shocked that this actually seemed to fix the problem and autofocus working again.
