I had same problem and solved it by going into power mode and setting to the "optomised" option and also go into display and set adaptive brightness to on.
Howzit. Sorry man, did you find a fix for the issue yet? I see RU-vid and other streaming services I use work fine. It's just Netflix. I was on the line with Netflix for about 2 hours. They did all sort of test, but no fix or update from them yet. Hope you had some luck?
Did you ever get a fix for this? I'm about to return my Tab A for the same reason. When I download Netflix videos, the playback is flawless, as is RU-vid streaming, but the streaming Netflix playback is stuttering something awful. It's as if the app or tablet is trying to adjust the frame rate of the original content or something.
I never did. They told me a firmware update should fix the issue. I did do that, but it's still there. I'm waiting on Marshmallow but not holding my breath. I have until April for warranty so I will most likely call them again in January. I was a big fan of Samsung until now. This is a huge flaw. Just as a note, their 8 inch model has no issue.
Interesting that the 8" doesn't have the issue. Does it have Marshmallow? Samsung has had the manuals for Lollipop and Marshmallow for the 7" Tab A on its website for a little while now, so it's odd that it hasn't rolled out the OS update - www.samsung.com/us/business/support/owners/product/SM-T280NZKAXAR Anyhow, thanks for the follow up. Yeah, too bad that Samsung isn't being more responsive. It's funny because my 3 year old Nexus 5 is far more capable at video than this tab, and is way more responsive too. I just wish there were an easier, and supported, way to get stock Android on these devices.
FWIW, I just got off a frustrating chat, then phone call, both reps had no clue why they were showing the Marshmallow manual on the website. Granted there's a little icon that, when rolled over, says it's for the NOOK version of this tab, they still couldn't give any indication of when Marshmallow would be rolled out. C'est la vie.
