I love the new gesture added recently to open an app. I use it to open the Google clock's handwashing timer since it starts the timer as soon as the app opens and I can just do the gesture and not touch the watch with dirty hands. Also the app just closes on its own after its done. I found the Samsung handwashing app doesn't auto detect my handwashing well at work since there's automatic sinks there and they turn off too quickly for the app to detect.
I love customizing my watchfaces. I didn't realize you could set the snore feature from the watch, thanks for that. I don't like having my phone by the bed so this will be great. I'm also glad you mentioned the phone disconnect if you leave your phone...that's terrific. There are so many things I love about this watch. It's just as fun thing to have❤️
You mentioned being able to customize the top button long press with the two options being Bixby or the power off menu. It would be relevant to mention that long pressing both buttons simultaneously opens the power off menu by default.
quick story on how important phone disconnect was for me... I went on holiday abroad and in a bag was all my holiday money, credit cards, passport and phone, I got out of a taxi at a hotel, offloaded all my bags (so I thought) and walked off... as I got into the hotel lobby my watch vibrated and told me I was not near my phone! this could have been a really valuable lesson to learn if I had not had the phone disconnect feature on!
I work at an environment where I can listen to music on my earbuds but cannot look at the phone. This watch is a dream come to as it allows me to change/skip/search songs when I was playing in RU-vid music.
The Body fat thing thing was actually spot on to the machine we have at the gym where the PT gives out a huge paper with the same stuff on. 5/5 time it says the same with maybe 0.2 in a difference on some of them
You didn't mention the "hard fall detection" feature. This is awesome, and will send out an automatic SOS message or call someone when a hard fall is detected.
Absolutely loving my watch 4 (non classic).. Fitness tracking has been surprisingly accurate. If I may make one suggestion Mike, you should raise some awareness about Samsungs watch face studio, it's an incredible way to design your own perfect watch face for the watch 4
Did you purchase the 40mm version or the 44mm , i am confused between the two , 40 mm is out of stock from a long time so thinking about 44mm but not sure of its too Big
@@gaurav7891 I got the 44mm and I personally think it's the best choice, provided your wrists aren't extremely small. I have small wrists and it doesn't look too big at all, and you get superior battery life. I would also suggest getting your own 20mm straps as the standard straps bulge out ridiculously, making the watch seem much bigger than it is
@@mikewillmore3780 thank you for your response what's your wrist size btw so that i can compare it with mine and then cab decide on the purchase accordingly
One thing I would recommend is enabling Developers Options... It's really handy and you can further control how the watch behaves, like animation speed and transitions to make it feel more snappy (fast) or smoother, vibrations settings and its behaviour when charging, Wifi, BT and other advanced features to make your watch suit your needs further or make it more efficient....
@@Ignacio.Romero stfu man. You can change that shit. Animation scale 0.5x Window scale 0.5x Vibration on connectivity change Screen stay awake while charging WiFi settings and Bluetooth debug
I saw a video showing a work around as a developer to install Google Assistant now. But, I would never try it thinking I might screw something up. Sounds interesting though.
I dont think Bixby gets enough credit. I use it for 1) take a photo (when Hands are in use like holding the object-my cat), 2)take a selfie 3) change the screen time to 10 minutes when I working on a recipe 4) send a text message to someone 5) It also makes reservations. These are things the google assistant doesnt do. Maybe I'm the only one that uses it?
I've been a proud owner of the smartwatch for over two weeks, and even though I was initially skeptical about the battery life, OS optimization is so effective that I'm capable of getting two full days out of the watch now.
@@tarekekram8441 Since I updated the Samsung Health app to the newest version, the battery of my phone has been depleting a bit faster because of it being almost constantly awake. It started to irk me, and I didn't want to spend time searching for an answer about how to downgrade the app, so I decided to force stop Samsung Health and open it only when I really need it. It didn't fully solve the issue as the app loads itself up every time it senses that the phone has been moved or the watch has started monitoring my sleep, but at least it doesn't make such a dent in the phone's battery life. What I'm trying to say in this somewhat convoluted manner is that the most recent iteration of Samsung Health doesn't work as advertised. However, I'm hopeful that Samsung are going to address the problem in light of Galaxy Watch 5 making its debut and consumers reporting their first pet peeves with the product.
@@kajetanczechowski1263 apprectiate your feedback. I really hope Samsung find a solution to this not ending issue. "Battery performance" whether in Phone Smart watch or Buds.
@@tarekekram8441 I'm content with the battery performance of the Watch itself, because - to be honest - it exceeded all my expectations, but sometimes the overall experience can be ruined by bugs in the companion software, such as mobile phone apps which have been devised to interact with the wearable without any glitches.
@@kajetanczechowski1263 it just hard for me to imagine having more than one device to charge on daily basis. Am ok with charging my phone once a day. But a watch or buds shall be always ready to go. Instead of being always concerned about being charged enough or not. Anything less than three days considered low performance for such accessories. Thats why I haven't owned a Smart watch or Buds yet.
A good thing to do is to link Theatre Mode with Bixby Routines so that when you turn it on, it turns on Do Not Disturb on your phone. Not sure why it doesn't do this natively, like Bedtime Mode, but it's still a neat thing to do.
Wants to remember a song for later but can't use his phone as he's driving. Proceeds to take both hands off the wheel to take a screenshot of his phone 🤣
I pretty much used all the features mentioned in the video! Great content! Another fun feature for this watch is to be able to use it as your phone camera shutter if your setting up your camera at a distance.
I didnt have the remote camera on my watch. Samsung said its because my Note 8 is too old. You need at least a Note 10 but I found Camera One will download & work. I really havent used it but it looks cool.
It will be another awesome feature if your phones battery is below 5% (maybe user can change the minimum level) and notify to the watch to charge your phone.
Thanx for this video - just bought the watch4 LTE recently and unfortunately majorly disappointed. Maybe you can help: 1. It doesn't last more than ~14 hours. It's on auto LTE when not in range of phone. *ALL* sensors are off. I've even found that keeping the display on vs. only when raising my arm, allows the battery to last longer! (Not in any documentation I've seen.) I once read there's an APK to *truly* remove all sensors from working, but I can't find it anymore. It claimed that the watch battery lasts for days. If you have this info - that would be helpful. 2. Second major disappointment - it's not really LTE! Without my phone, it doesn't get *any* notifications, even though supposedly it has data via LTE. There's almost no true LTE behavior - I can't even browse. Let alone look at my emails or whatsapp without the phone being connected. 3. There's an extremely small list of apps that I can put on the bezel. I have 4-5 apps I'd like to access, yet, the Links is a tiny list - not any app. 4. This is a major one - when it gets to hot it goes into cooling mode, but after it cools down, it doesn't reconnect via bluetooth to my ear piece. 5. Even with the watch completely off (e.g. overnight), it still loses battery. Clearly it's doing stuff which I need to figure out how to turn off. 6. To save battery, I leave the display on (and use the bezel to wake it up) and a number of times the battery and time stop updating. Urrrgghhhh. 7. Even the shortcuts - they could've done a long & double press on the bottom button. As well as double and triple taps on the face. 8. Also looking for a digital face with seconds when in display-always mode. Truthfully, I don't really need a "fitness" watch - just something I can get phone calls on, see emails/whatsapp/calendar/contacts and use google wallet. And a battery that'll last at least 24 hours. Yes, it's nice to know the weather, but definitely not critical. If you have answers to any of the questions above or another esim/LTE watch you would recommend - that would be most appreciated.
Hi what exactly do you mean that it's not really LTE?? Like why is it not allowing u to remotely use the watch for browsing... Because that is literally the only reason to get the lte version... To connect to your mobile network if ur phone or wifi is unavailable near you...
@@siddhanthmv3675 I know! It is 95% the same as BT and it uses OS Wear a bit here & there to get data from the Internet, most of it is only from the phone. Urrgghhhh... Without a connection to the phone, I get no whatsapp or email notifications. I have not been able to browse - though the face is really too small for that anyway. The only thing that is different - which is great is that I can make and receive calls - which I want when I'm running. But - hey that's not LTE!
You can strap it to the back of your phone, & use it as a selfie camera monitor. WHY? The best camera on your phone is in the back. (Camera control app is only available for Samsung S-series, 9 & above devices. )
The single most useful health tool would be a body temp sensor. Fuck, knowing when your temp first starts to spike is huge. Watch wearers temp data during a pandemic would be a real time map of the outbreak. Wake the fuck up developers.
Perfect for those of us who got one for Christmas. Never thought I'd use this being young and healthy but I got a respritory infection (like bronchitis but milder) and the oxygen blood scanner is useful.
HAHAHAHAHAH what if it picks up my partners snoring! he is a beast. He is the reason why I can't sleep. Hoggs the blankets sleeps all day and on occasion snores.
Having enabled Samsung pay, accessing my phone now requires a pin and pattern. I understand this is for security however getting into my phone is not a process and would prefer to only have the pin / pattern when making a payment - is this possible?
I LOVE phone disconnection alerts! It was automatically enabled and I left my phone in the store the other day, got to the parking lot and got the disconnection alert! Phew! My phone is also my car key, so if I walk away from the car and my wrists buzzes, I know to run back and get my phone! Love it.
Changing the disconnection notification to an "alert" really helped me when I forget my phone somewhere. I use my watch daily and it lasts just over a day and a half. Awesome watch
I like the phone disconnected warning too: just as I walk away from my car (with the phone inside) I get the notification, saves me going back downstairs to the garage!
@@scofieldp2352 hey guys, go into your settings on your watch, tap on connections, scroll down to disconnect alerts. You can make it vibrate and alert at the same time.
Great tips, Thanks Mike. Do you lose too much functionality without a Samsung phone? I'm upgrading my S10. I prefer pure Android (Pixel) but, the S21FE has better specs and S22 is only weeks away...
Your battery life must be atrocious having all that gimmicky stuff enabled. First thing I did was disabled all the gimmicky health sensors and denied permissions to all the Samsung Health software and now my battery life lasts for 5 days.
Great info! I ordered my Samsung Galaxy 4 Watch today. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 20. Is the stylus pen compatible with the watch? I'm looking forward to getting to know my new watch!
Something frustrating. When I use Google maps navigating the watch4 with auto detect walking will record a session and closes maps which I'm using to navigate. Any way to work around this? Thanks
Yes. I'm a week into this watch and so disappointed that I cannot even reach 24 hours. I thought I could at the very least have a daily routine like charge while I'm having coffee, breakfast, a shower but instead I need a late afternoon charge
1:00 ❓ Does this feature also work with a SmartTag? Now when I leave my Samsung SmartTag behind, my Phone alerts me. But I'd love to have my Watch alerting me (because I don't always have my smartphone with me).
Hehe, this watch has so much marketing software makeup that you can barely tell its using Google software. Im waiting for the Fossil gen 6 to get the pure wear os 3 update
I bought one, which was very disappointing choice. The battery did not last more than 15 hrs. Notifications, calls receiving, were not working properly.... returned to the shop, but they said they will test it what is logical but I lost the confidence in that watch, did not get money back, nor had the opportunity to swap it for other watch. Harvey Norman, very bad.
Way too much talking without showing the actual tips. Setting play speed to 1,5 isn't enough.. 1,75 is probably when the video is comfortable to watch and to listen all the useless taking...😂
I was in a theater and I enabled theater-mode. I had used the Do-not-disturb and Bedtime modes succesfully before. I was very upset when a phone call alarmed the audience and actors! The phone is probably not even aware of theater mode. That feature sucks!
Body comp on this watch is grossly inaccurate says I have 17% body fat when I actually have 4%. @ 6'/185cm, 170lbs/77kg ? Nearly 16kg of fat is a lot of bulk and I'm skinny.
1st thing i do on my phone and watch is kill all the useless notifications. Nothing worst than 100's of notification for everything. Something I pick up here is you keep leaving your phone everywhere. Kind of defeats the object of having a phone unless you are deaf like em and the Bluetooth connects it directly to my hearing aids so it can be 10-15m away and i can answer and hang up via my hearing aids.
No surprise here, got the Samsung watch 3 currently and I've have every edition of Samsung watches. I must say that after purchasing Garmin Fenix 6 sapphire that has a 21 day battery with normal use, has everything I could imagine. Haven't wore my Samsung since.
Where do I get that Samsung Galaxy watch tree at video point 9:17?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!? How long do they take to ripen and use??? I think this tree would save me a lot of money! lol
Favorite features? Google Pay does not work in Slovenia, either does not Samsung Pay. And Curve does not work. So, this watch is unusable. Battery is disaster too.
You have to set a pin or pw to use Samsung Pay. The problem is every time your watch goes into sleep mode (like every 2 minutes) you have to enter the pin code to wake it back up. Ughhh!
I have fossil gen 5 julianna its still in great shape and work gear, What ilike is to fossil watch is when you play music just press top and bottom to next and back and and middle for up and low volume. I got the samsung watch 4 and i returned to the store i didn't like it cos u have to touch the screen all the time..i always like fossil.
My name is Jose D Serpas war Samsung Galaxy watch 3 steps everything good trip everybody else miss you guys everybody family together geat guys I love you guys
Doesn't samsung pay app work in india for this watch ? Upon pressing back button pay app isn't opening, couldn't even find an option to download from store
Did you ever get a burn mark on your wrist from this watch? I turned off a lot of the "cool" features in an attempt not to get a scar. Is there a work around?
Is it better than the active2 I've had mine for going on this full year I really like it just curious i know there a watch 5 coming out but don't know when if its way better than my active2 i will be getting that one for sure 🤔
I have used active 2 and now got watch 4, and I advice you to wait for watch 5 , not because of I dont like watch 4, there is some really new features and most important for me is google play, but I still think that it doesnt worth upgrade active watch 2 to watch 4
Hadn't finished the vid yet but wanted to ask where you can get that white breathable sports band. I had one for my Active 2 but that one looks legit!! Thank
Hello Mike. I came across your videos which I find to be the best which is why I liked, subscribed, and shared them. I don't wear watches because I don't like the feel of watches, but with a new job in the Cardiovascular unit of the hospital, I find that I need to purchase my first smartwatch - primarily for voice reminders for frequent blood transfusion reminders for example. I didn't hear you speak of voice reminders; however, after watching many of your videos, I assume this feature is readily available on all Samsung models(?) Maybe the smaller watch is better because it would be easier to clean/sanitize bodily fluids? What is your recommendation for hospital use, the regular or the classic Samsung device (money is not a determining factor)?
Please provide more details regarding how to implement your suggestions, don't just tell me it is the settings. I'm still looking for the darn disconnect option.
