I need it for 2 or 3 Nights with following claims: I will filming on my tours. Taking photos. Surfing in the Interent. Writing a lot in Google Docs. At the evening i watch 1 Movie. great to see some actual videos coming out about this phone, how is the audio? I've heard that its less than stellar outgoing call quality, and I would like to know if the 3.5 jack or Bluetooth has anything fancy, I've heard that it supports Samsung's LDAC
I carried an xcover pro with no case and no screen protector and treated the phone like it was expandable. Multiple drops onto pavement from forgetting the phone was in my lap getting out of the cars, even fell into toilet once (my own thank goodness). Fell out of the tree stand twice. Hundreds of hours into it before the panel finally burned out. Got a dirt cheap A51 to hold me over off ebay and I cracked the screen 2 weeks after owning it just living. Was about to capitulate into buying another xcover pro until I noticed Amazon has unlocked Xcover6 available in the US and couldn't pull my wallet out fast enough, I originally thought you could only get these in Europe or needed a business account with Samsung. Luckily I will have the extra battery from my old Xcover to keep with the latest gen. Yeah folks, EXTRA BATTERY. I refuse to be a apple sheep and have them strip features from phones in the name of "progression". Not just batteries but phonejack's, usb-c, and memory slots. They even have you sheep wrapping your delicate little expensive metal iPhones into these bulky ugly plastic cases just to use them for day to day activities which defeats the purpose of having fancy looking iPhone to begin with. No thank you. Xcover master race just keeps on winning.

A lot of people (including me) baby their phones these days but no mud is too tough and no wave is too high for Xcover series. Looking forward for the review. It is strange that this phone is not yet reviewed properly by any of the "famous" youtubers. You are not a YT star yet, but you can be the first to do a proper review of the phone. It is an interesting case this phone, really. Considering the hardware and the price. I wanted to buy it because I've been a rugged phone user for the last (almost) 10 years. But no, I just couldn't pay this price of around $500. Instead I just bought the A52s which is with basically the same and even better considering the hardware specs. Both phones have the same RAM and Snapdragon, but the A52s has better battery, display and size. It is not rugged, I know, but it is IP 67 and it is $200 cheaper than the xCover 6. I hope I made the right choice. Looking forward for the review and maybe even a slight live benchmark-comparison hardware wise between the xCover 6 and A52s. I am curious to know if they overclocked the Snapdragon for the xCover 6 or it is working the same way as in the A52s. As Samsung did underclocked the Exynos in A33 compared to A53. Thanks!
If I become a RU-vid star like MKBHD, LTT, or Unbox Therapy, you will be the reason that put me behind the high table. I can read a lot of thoughts you had for choosing A52s over XCover 6 Pro. All legit and I 100% agree. I think you made the right choice if you don't really need to stick to a rugged phone. I will do a comparison test as you suggested. Thanks for your comment.
Great unboxing and overview. I've been following the XCover series for a while now. I've been waiting for a version with 4500mAh battery and a more battery efficient CPU. I love their rugged tablet thus far.
Thank you for this interesting video, I would like to acquire one but I have a bad experience with the X cover 4 because the sockets are not protected and with time from dust and enter the microphone and the charging socket think That they improved this problem on the 6?
I've got a couple questions: Does the notification LED have multiple colors? Can it change colors based on the app? Like being blue for facebook or green for whatsapp. How is the haptic feedback? Some samsung budget phones (namely the a53) have pretty crappy haptics. I'm hoping that it's ok in the XCover 6 pro.

Please check if the Hi-Res audio output is supported for wired/wireless endpoint devices (you may need to first turn on UHQ upscaling in the settings) using Poweramp or Neutron Music Player, and how good the LDAC codec support is-in terms of both sound quality and stability.
USB audio player pro has an update that claimed to add HiRes support to it, but idk about other apps i hope it is good, if it is im totally getting this to replace my LG V20 as a daily driver
@@beastbro9823 I doubt that the sound quality of Qualcomm's Aqstic solution in Xcover Pro 6 will be even remotely comparable to LG V20 with its ESS Quad DAC audio solution. These days, you'd need an external DAC. The best I can hope in terms of audio quality in XCover 6 Pro is "good enough for occasional listening on the go with low impedance in-ear headphones".

I haven't seen it on any yt videos but one of my review in my country told that it has. This is a very major decider for me when purchasing a phone thats why I would like to make sure. Thank you!

I'm thinking of getting this phone for personal use. How dim is the display at night? I don't lke a screen that's too bright. How dark can it get? How bright is the display in daylight? Is it hard to read in the sun? Does the speaker sound good enough? It's a mono speaker, correct? Is it loud enough to hear in someone's pocket? How reliable is the camera auto-focus? My old phone had laser assisted focusing. I don't think this phone can do that, so I'm worried (especially in fast-paced situations) the camera might take a lot of blurry photos. Also, I like to take pictures at night. Does the camera app have manual exposure settings for shutter speed, ISO, etc? Can it handle low-light well or is it very noisy?
I will answer the first question right now because that's what I'm experiencing as I'm using it as a daily driver now. Yes. The fingerprint sensor sometimes doesn't work properly. I will talk about this more in my review and your second question too. Thanks for the comment!
nice, great review. I loved my active series and was really pissed off when I bought my s8 active. then shortly after I was forced to upgrade to a 5g phone on my network and I discovered that the line was cancelled and had to move onto phones that break from a simple drop like the moto one I have now. I have used the active line for years and would choose nothing less than a rugged phone for myself. So I decided on a whim this morning to look into a rugged phones and discovered that the line is back under this name. I find it odd that I haven't heard of it until now... bad marketing? anyways, thank you for a quick review. now I'll have to save up for one. cheers!

I'm almost done with my review and I couldn't find the right moment to mention how slow it gets when the storage is full so I will tell you here. It is still snappy and fast even when the internal storage is 96% used. Multitasking, apps, and gaming don't slow down even a bit. Does it support high end camera software with (long) multiple seconds opening the shutter time? Software such as Open Camera or Camera FV-5?
Hello. How does the touch sampling rate input feel like? I mean can you type fast on it? Also it would be nice if you test the two cameras, the single speaker(how can i dance on Disco if the sound is not good enough?) and the microphone(FBI must hear me clearly) . Thank you for the review! I want this, but I have serious concerns about the water-resistance of this phone. The specifications claim that it is rated IP68 (safe in water up to 1.5 meters), however the plastic cover on the back is giving me doubts. Have you tried submerging the phone in water? No matter how durable the phone is against physical impacts, it's absolutely meaningless if it's not truly water-resistant. The selling point of a "rugged" phone is that it should be able to handle rough conditions including water, snow, rain, etc.
100% agree with your concern about the water resistance of this phone. I kinda doubt it too. I'm gonna put this phone alive into a water tank in my review video. The review video is running behind schedule because I think I gotta test this the right way since it is a 'rugged' phone. I'm working on it so please stay tuned and thanks for your comment!
looking forward to the review! im on the previous gen xCover Pro and am wanting to upgrade when It gets to the US. I love the swappable battery, if this device didnt have a hotswap battery, I wouldnt be interested
