Tbh, this is not a dealbreaker for me. I've never owned a waterproof phone and I'm honestly not interested in them. I'll just keep this one out of the water the way I've done with all my devices, and keep a screen protector and a case with a carrying handle on it.
I've had the Xcover pro for a few years now and yes, the Exynos chipset is bad. RAM management is terrible and if it uses too much the phone just crashes and restarts. Also if the RAM Plus option is on (it's a horrible feature, never have this on, on ANY phone), the phone crashes daily. Good to see Xcover 6 has Snapdragon.
I love my xcover pro 2020, dual sim and the extra hardware buttons are so handy for me in my job. However, I have this crashing problem sometimes twice or three times a day It's always at the worst times too, happened to me just moments ago, so I finally decided to move onto the xcover6 pro. Looking forward to the extra ram and Snapdragon
@@solidice5660 Good choice. XCover 6 Pro is the best version right now. My XCover Pro still runs well. There's a few things i do like RAM Plus off and not letting it drop below 600MB. And also using apps like SD Maid and Good Guardians App booster. They have been very helpful.
My 13 pro plus did nothing. I’ve got one I’m trying to unbrick and ran across this! I did not know apple would have fixed it but it bricked within 4 months of being brand new!
I’m Autistic and mostly looking for something that will be comfortable and block out a significant amount of noise. Obviously want something that has good sound for when I do wanna listen to music. Which one should I get?
This phone is not bullet proof. One year down and my power button has failed. To remove it you have to completely disect the phone to bare frame! A replacement button is impossible to find! Anyone looking to buy this just look elsewhere. The replaceable battery isn't worth the hassle associated with unique/uncommon phones.
the lines on your phone is from the water that got in via the headphone jack, hence the air bubbles, if it dries up it'll probably come back to life, as for the water in the battery compartment the guys at the warranty must've done something with the gasket on the battery cover, cos it seals perfectly if not tampered with regardless if you open it up 10 times a day, it's one of the reasons i bought this phone myself and for my mother, i got anger issues lol and she is clumsy, so these rugged phones make sense for us, overall i'm happy with it, bought it for the removable battery and the fact it can resist shocks so well, water too, but apparently the headphone gasket failed on both of our phones hence both mine and yours now have those white lines on the screen, i opened it up and put it upside down with a bit of clearance for the headphone jack without the cover and the battery to dry it up, will see how it works after that

i upgraded my phone from iPhone 11 Pro to iPhone 13 mini because it is compact. But I am thinking of going back to my old iPhone because i really missed the telephoto lens. Also the battery is weak in iPhone 13 mini. I am not even a power user. I don't play games but the battery is weak. Too bad because i really like the size of it.
Sorry for my late response and I hear you. Battery life is a bit problematic and lack of telephoto lens can be a deal breaker. I also like the size of 13 mini but I had to let it go due to the battery and telephoto.
Thank you for this interesting video, I would like to acquire one but I have a bad experience with the X cover 4 because the sockets are not protected and with time from dust and enter the microphone and the charging socket think That they improved this problem on the 6?
Before watching this video I was going to go for the Bose but after watching I’ve just ordered the Sony and the midnight blue is just gorgeous. Also ordered the XM5’s for the hubby. Have you tried those ones out?
Excellent choice on midnight blue👍 I have XM5 and there's not much difference in terms of sound. It has a new design, which is not necessarily better than the XM4 but it looks cool though. I gave my XM4 to my girlfriend and she loves it. I hope you guys love new headphones too!

I have these both as well and lean toward the bose. At first i liked xm4 better because of the features. Same as you the stop on take off, and the sound was fun. However, bose is better built (metal hinge, braces on the band) it's why they don't often break, and after a couple years they fixed wind noise and eq closed the gap on sound for me. I actually prefer the sound on bose. Finally the one thing that really distinguish them for me is the comfort bose leading. As you say the battery is the same. Everyone says sony is long but i suspect they aren't actually testing it they are nearly identical. I find the bose app clear with just the features I need. Sony is easy to fix and upgrade the battery. I'll throw that in because i like to fix things. Even though I prefer bose, and it's a lot cheaper (i get them at 269) i can see why people like sony too. Esp the previous xm4/3. XM5 IMO is over rated. The anc isn't better overall just in some aspects, and it's even less comfortable IMO, and there have been many issues again with the band. They really need to address that. In general sony relies more on passive isolation (which by the way is good) it's more fool proof and cancels differently than anc (getting highs and suddden sounds better) at the cost of comfort.
I really wish you would have dropped it chest height (1.5m) at a few different angles to see how it works as designed instead of after 1 drop going to drops that it is not designed for.
Well, you did show that you can put the XCover Pro battery into an XCover6 Pro phone and make it power up, but does that really prove compatibility? Batteries placed into a device for which they were not designed can develop subtle problems that evolve over time, potentially affecting performance and safety. LiPo batteries are especially sensitive to such factors, and their malfunctions can be especially consequential. It's intriguing, given the difficulty in obtaining the XCover6 Pro batteries, but have you considered these possible dangers?
'Professional' users usually have a remote 'charging bank' to charge multiple batteries at the same time, this is usually at a 'trickle' charge which is better for a long battery life; fast charging of a battery reduces the battery life. I think this is why, this phone does not have a 'fast' charge rate.
I like your analysis. It does feel very real and unbiased and you covered some points not mentioned by others. Btw, what about the noise cancelling part, which is better? I don't listen to music often. My main purpose is to block out noises so that I can focus at work.
@avianchavarria4667 great phone for daily use,misses out on the top extras that their flagship phones have,with the new updates. But it's a great daily phone for sure. But if it's an all singing and dancing phone ya want maybe something g else
Overall, it was a good video and good analysis of the phone. One question, though. What shipyard did you spend time at as a Naval Officer? US Naval Shipyards do not allow camera enabled cell phones. If I decide to get this rugged phone, the first thing I will do is remove/disable the cameras. The camera means nothing to a shipyard worker.
For the more sensitive amongst your viewers, the next time you do this can you please press your thumb hard along every edge of the back, to confirm that the back is strongly and properly clipped into place? Since it's quite easy for just one of the back clips not to be properly in position, or for one clip to be poorly joined because of previous stress in handling. Also, when you come to take the back off after the test, please wrap the phone in a towel first, and also make sure your hands are totally dry before opening the phone. It probably doesn't make any difference to the test, but it will just make me feel better. Thankyou!!
