I've just upgraded from the flip 4 to the flip 6 because of the trade in value. I didn't have any problems except for some scratches on the crease with my flip 4, but considering how many times I've dropped the phone, it's honestly impressive that that's the only damage. I'm hoping the flip 6 is the upgrade I was looking for. The better battery life, cooling chamber and the better camera sold me. Hands on, the crease comparison between the flip 4 and the flip 6 is huge. I barely even notice the crease on the 6 unless I was looking hard for it, but the phone's still new so I'm hoping it stays the same.
If a display is foldable, I'd argue it's more resistant to drops. The main problem it'll experience is probably internal. Like the infamous green line which hits every oled panel out there.
Really ? My flip 4 broke 2 times exactly the same way, hinge shock provoking dead screen… I’m scared to get the flip 6 if it’s that fragile, it never had big fall, just a fall from pocket, both time completely dead from the shock
So many vids have complained about the charging rate, but im coming from an old enough phone where 25w is actually an upgrade for me, my ignorance of faster charging will be bliss I suppose. Its never really an issue since I have a job where I cant have my phone anyway, battery is never an issue.
I currently use a Galaxy S21 going on three years now,and I have to say that for the most part,it has been great. I don't use wireless charging myself, just a good USB-C charger usually works pretty good in my opinion, but each phone is different and charge times I would imagine are going to be different as well. This is one of the phones that I have been considering upgrading to but there are other Samsung phones that I am considering as well. I personally am not a big fan of A.I,even though I know some people are and would probably use that feature more than I would. Looks like it takes pretty good pictures and has nice resolution. The last flip phone/slider phone that I had? Was the old Samsung Rogue(you guys remember that one from way back when? It was one of my favorite phones actually. Curious as to what those commenting on this think about their Z Flip 6.
Even if this isn’t a major upgrade, as an iPhone user it somehow caught my interest like any other technology for quite some years. Finally switching and expecting lots.
@@Bdabosss changed about 2 days after that comment. Love the phone, absolutely fun to use and fast. From an iPhone 13 this felt like a big upgrade. Only con i can find is the os, android is not bad at all but it feels cheaper than ios if left stock, also z flip 6 does have a thing that the new screen is thicker so most of them develop a slight sound when opening so just search about that before pulling the trigger. Besides that yeah i recommend it.
I’ve had the flip 4 and the flip 5 . A year each and I never had a single issue , no pixels or scratches . Saying that I looked after it and kept it in a case . I’ve pre ordered the 6 and expect the same
As a flip user for awhile now, I feel like the seven year updates are to get you go buy it. There is no way this phone will last this long. They can't even get the screen protector to last a year. I have to have mine replaced every 3months on my 5
What???? Never had to replace mine on the Flip 5 which I had since pre order. Even had a Fold 2 and 3 that held up for a over a year without any issues. Just received my Flip 6 yesterday and I'm not worried. Obviously, don't roughhouse your folding phone like a normal slab phone.
Samsung is doing the huge discounts at launch to be able to make specific sales during first week claims/numbers. I paid 360 EUR incl VAT for the Flip6 + Official case + Watch 7 LTE I traded in a 3d printed iphone 15.
@@Thekki Yeah lol but as a joke, as they would have accepted anything. The base price was 999 it was discounted for us as Vodafone customers to 888 then there was a 128 extra trade in for everyone and a bonus bonus trade in for everyone coming the first 2 launch days so I received 0 + 528 bonus. 888-528=360 If I had traded in a working device I would have gotten the value of that device + 528 trade-in instead of 0+528
@@Thekki yeah but they gave me 0 for it However they did have a 528 Launch day bonus on trade ins. So that's 0+528 bonus. Their price was 888 minus that 528 and with a free watch 7 and case
I got the Flip 5 and I noticed I hate opening it multiple times a day , closing it is a better feeling, but I also thought I would use the cover screen more and I never use it
Main driver is a S24u, but it's too big so use the Flip 6 when out in an evening or when cycling. Had a Flip 4 a year ago. Reason for trading that in? Poor camera and smaller cover screen - both now resolved. Use the Answer call to text feature on the S24u and don't see it as a creepy feature. It helps screen calls. Nephew has a Flip 3 which he still loves. Has had no screen issues except needing new film on the screen. My Flip 4 's screen protector had just started to lift at the crease after 18 months so Samsung replaced it for free.
That's a really good review. Speaking of trade-in what I've seen is there's no going back from fold or flip. The last I checked if I could exchange my fold 3 with S24 ultra there was no option. Has anyone experienced otherwise?
JerryRigEverything said he hated the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 because of the process of opening and closing it 50 times per day, which is probably pretty standard phone usage for the average person. He equated it to daily drip torture, with every single time annoying him a bit more and more. Did you find this annoying also, with a flip phone over a standard candybar form factor?
I had almost all the Notes and I use and love the Flip the same. So far a black 5 and a silver 6. They easily stand on end (no stand) for watching movies. Camera is impressive!
@@Alize.W i hear you and not only worried i argued with Samsung about it but most importantly learned from usage that there are quite a bit of very efficient work arounds provided for Samsung in the side panel options which i enjoy. i still have my Note 20 ultra and have found that it is getting used less as the Flip advanced into its 6th year.
FYI Looks like you used a older 45w charger that probably does not have PPS as you can see the green color charge circle. You are only charging with fast charging and not Super Fast Charging or Super Fast Charging+.
Other reviews have shared it's one of the default Cover Screen options! I haven't really used one so I can't instruct on how to change to it, but I bet any "tips & tricks" or "set up Z Flip 6" video will cover how to do it.
I've had the Flip 6 for 4 days now and all though its cute I have a problem with it discharging instead of charging while sitting on a wireless charger closed with no running apps. Considering returning it.
Thanks for the detailed review. The phone looks gorgeous, out of the box, but I don't know why anyone would pay all that money for a phone that will inevitably have significant problems in just a year or two???
I can for sure get more from my existing pixel device if I trade in towards a NEW pixel directly from Google...but....I'm really interested in the flip 6. ATT has some good trade in values currently too
i really like the flip and fold but my issue is the camera with both roughly 50mp where the new s24u has a 200mp you would think due to cost more so the fold they would have a better camera
i wouldnt. not if you use your cameras a lot. i did however trade in my iphone 12 pro max. i only used that phone for a couple months before switching to samsung and never looking back
Thinking about switching from iPhone 11 to Samsung Flip, but I’ve heard that the older Flips are as durable as an iPhone 8 and the battery life sucks, hopefully not
@@tapasyak429 I ordered the charger from amazon, samsung orignal 25W USB lightning adapter, it was only 1000inr ₹, you also need to turn on fast charging from settings
@@Parisxoxxo I ordered it from amazon its called Samsung Orignal 25W USB lightning Adapter for cellular. It was only 999inr ₹. I'm also ordering 1 more because the one I'm using rn is my moms i ordered it for her s23 few months ago and its working great
@@tapasyak429 idk whats wrong they keep removing my reply. My charger i ordered it from Amazon its called Samsung Orignal 25W Travel USB lighting charger for cellular for 999inr₹
I have purchased my flip 6 4 days ago coming from a iphone 13 pro max and my concern is the battery, my 2 year old iphone does have a better battery life than my new Flip 6 unfortunately. Overall i'm happy with the size, i have to get used to android but that is a matter of time hopefully
@@humphrey2391 i was thinking the same thing. my iphone 13 which has a 79% battery health has around the same battery life of the samsung z flip 6, which makes me upset. i’m thinking about trading the flip 6 in for the s24ultra
The Flip 6 is a compact and stylish device, however, its battery life may not be sufficient for users with high power demands. Additionally, while the included charger is capable, its size is disproportionate to the device itself.
Had 2 flips both got vertical green and pink lines after 18 month's flip 1 and flip 3, that's not good enough and a deal breaker, so I will wait 12 months and won't be an early adopter.
My preference was the Galaxy Note phones because I love and used the stylus. But I've found that Samsung may be slowly getting away from this, because they stopped making the Note phones. I purchased the S23 Ultra last year for the stylus. I think the Z Fold has a stylus, but the screen is too big and I'd like to reduce my screen time, not increase it (I also have a Samsung tablet for larger screen tasks). Anyway, I am strongly considering the Z Flip. Specs wise, the S24 has significantly better camera options and battery life, and the stylus I love. Is it really worth parting ways with an amazing camera and stylus? Any other Note fans want to chime in?
@ayesha.m I am in many forums asking this and everyone, everywhere, is saying the Z series is too much of a downgrade from the S series to be worth it ☹️
Imo gaming on a cellular device even if it's made for it isn't good really for overheating issues really i don't think they will get passed that issue i don't think
It strongly depends on how much you rely on the Apple ecosystem. If you have Apple devices everywhere and transfer large amounts of data for work or production purposes, I suggest sticking with Apple because switching might create new problems you’ll have to solve. However, if you don’t need that connection, the Flip 6 is definitely a cool smartphone.
@@HotshotTek I had an apple ecosystem. But my macbook’s internal screen cracked. I only have an ipad and air pods. I dont use my apple watch either. I do record videos on my sony camera and plan to edit videos and air drop it to my ipad. But im not sure if I really need the ecosystem. Im still debating because I really like the z flip 6.
I have a iPhone 13 and it is no better than the 11. In a week or so, my Samsung Z Flip 6 will arrive and I’ll be shipping off my iPhone 13 to Samsung (trade in program) and don’t have any plans on going back to Apple. Get the Flip 6
I really want to buy a flip phone but in my mind i think that they are not durable after 2 or 3 years.I've read reviews from previous users saying that the screen broke after one year.
In my honest opinion, I think it really depends on the users if they’re rough with their phones and they drop them and they just toss them around don’t expect a good lifespan. Don’t expect your screen to work as it once did it’s a thin screen.
I have the Flip 5, and I love it. I was going to upgrade, but when I found out the Flip 5 is getting all the AI features like it did with the S24 launch, I decided I won't upgrade until it stops receiving AI features.
AI is a gimmick 😂 Upgrade when it has a larger front screen with 120 refresh rate and faster charging capabilities. That will be the perfect time to upgrade
Why does Samsung have so few stores? There's so many Apple stores like in every mall. Makes no sense to me. There's only 1 Samsung store in my state and it's an hour away from me. Definitely not accessible like Apple.
@@nikes4444 I’ve just read an article yesterday saying that Apple got a patent this year for flexible glass/screens. They think they’ll come out with a flip 2026 or 27
