Typing this from my Razr+ and I couldn't be happier. For me it's about the outer display and after comparing both the Razr wins hands down. The whole concept of a flip is to be able to have great functionality with it closed so you aren't opening it as much. And the Razr just smoked the z flip in this category. Oh and this is coming from a Samsung guy. Just my two cents. Great video Seth!
@@one_with_kevrything9825 Yeah but Motorola does it natively and you get more screen real estate on the front and there's actually a noticeable difference between the 165hz screen compared to the 60 on Samsung.
@@one_with_kevrything9825 well good thing it has 45W charging for that bigger screen. The thing is personally I'd go with Samsung but Im glad this person couldn't be happier with their phone. I just don't get why you can't let this person enjoy their phone, there's no reason to sit here and try to point out everything that's better about the flip and everything that's wrong with the Razr (it was all mentioned in the video anyway). We all have different preferences when it comes to the features our phones offer.
I won't lie... I want a phone that's just the tiny outside screen. It's AMAZING to have such a small screen do so much and it fits perfectly in the hand!
what is the point of having this small screnn if doin everything on a classic slab would be better since more screen real estate and makes it look better. im curios because i do like the phone
@@JadaaFresh depends on phone use. I primarily use text, RU-vid, web browser and email. All those things are good to go with a small screen. It also limits endless scrolling for whatever reason
I have both.. The Razr 50 ultra has better hardware but the Flip 6 has better software. I do think the Flip 6 has better build design tho. The razr you cant add your own live/video wallpaper on the cover screen but with the Flip 6 you can. Camera on the Razr is better. The photos look like its taken from an actual camera while the Flip 6 looks over-processed.. even when you turn off the enhancement its way too sharp and has that muddy HDR look. For video the Flip 6 wins on the image stabilization..especially when you're recording while walking. Razr has some jitteriness to it. For gestures I prefer the Razr
I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel, finally a review that doesn't sound biased and ACTUALLY picks which one they believe is better. This video has helped me finally decide which one I wanna buy. Thank you and def keep up the videos!
Just make it a little smaller.... why not 6.3 inch or so inner display size... don't get it. At least as an choosing option. Should be game changing in the market. I really believe. You have two screens and watching your series is also possible on 6.1. Or on TV. And that Samsung doesn't open the outer screen to instant use for all apps... just crazy. Janu.
How do you like it? I had the Samsung flip 4 and it got the black screen of death for no reason and they refused to replace it. So I really want to try something new
@l3ilani 2 weeks with razr + and no issues at all solid device for a 1000 not like samjunk and crapple at a near 2000 fashion stament lol .. overall everything is perfect and a 6.9 screen
The one thing that made me decide to buy the Razr+ over Flip6 is the cover display. With the Razr, I can use it to approve/reject my 2FA app via the notification without opening the app itself. Flip's cover display cannot interact with that UNLESS you open the app itself which defeats the purpose to begin with.
@@MrCow579 i tried Microsoft Authenticator, Salesforce Authenticator with the Z Flip5 and it's a nope. Basically approving it is impossible because you can't interact with notification just like how you do it with the main display.
@@MrCow579 nope. I used the Flip5 and it cannot interact with MS Authenticator, Salesforce Authenticator apps via the notifications. Samsung's cover display does not treat notifications like how it is treated in the main display.
@@MrCow579 what Authenticator app are you using? Because 2 of the most popular ones (MS Authenticator and Salesforce Authenticator) aren't working. It's actually Samsung's very limited feature in the cover display because it only acts like a basic notification.
You're not the only one, the Razr+ 2024 had better color contrast and sharpness. The Z Flip6 colors looked washed out and you could see that the panels in the back were blurry.
Razr+;for me. Samsung phones try to do too much useless stuff and the battery gets worse real quick. Plus I prefer a more stock experience over the OneUI
I looked up this comparison a LOT and most are mentioning the awesome Razr+ cameras and outter display. You're the FIRST reviewer I've come across that says the Flip6 has better pics/video. That's very interesting. I prefer the look and size of the Flip (besides the outter display), but I'm somewhat a purist and want my devices fully functional out of the box.
@@X-S-V-b1e The cameras weren't really my concern, just an observation. I went on and got the Z Flip 6, basically for the sleek style and how I can call, text, whatever without opening it. Only issue I have is how the hell does it die 10% a day without even using it? I keep Blutooth off, notifications ONLY for texts and still it dies 10% a day.
Honestly if Motorola were to throw and extra year or two of updates to their razr phones it would've been closer to perfect. I like the somewhat wider displays because it makes it easier to type I also like how there's no dumb cut out for the inner camera, the screen protector covers everything
I don't think I've met a single person who has seen my Razr+ and not gone "what the hell is that, a samsung? It's a Motorola?! It's so cool, I want one!"
I switch from n iPhone 14 Pro Mx to the magenta razr and I lovvvvvve it so much ✨🥰😩 best decision ever. I do prefer it over the flip, it just wasn’t screaming at me like the razr was 😅
Crazy coincidence looking for tech review and come across Seth. Normally watch you for sneakers. I hit the like soon as I seen you. Felt Just like seeing a friend after a while 😂
I have the RAZR from last year mostly because I missed getting a RAZR back in the day. Be worned that these phones don't last a full day without changing during I thought maybe because my other phones easily make it from home to back home but not this one.
Thanks for the video. I really enjoy watching your content. Keep up the good work. I was really torn on which one to get. I already have the Motorola Razr Plus 2023 and with the Android 14 update and the new features that came with the update the Razr 2023 seems like a new phone. Yeah it doesn't have the 4 in screen but it does have a 3.6 in screen and that's still better than the Samsung flips 3.4 in screen. I almost pulled the trigger on The Razr 2024.and I was going to give my Razr 2023 to the wifey. But at the last minute she said she would rather have my Pixel 8 pro. So I'm going to get the Pixel 9 pro and she'll get the P8P. And I'll keep my Razr 2023.
I am watching two giants battling out to see who is the king. I have owned a Galaxy phone for almost all my life. I then saw the Razr plus and immediately fell in love, BUT, I did not buy the Razr, the only reason why is that Spectrum did not offer the Razr PLUS. So I got the Z Flip and it arrives today! I am excited !
I went with Razr+ because I prefer Android largely to iOS and Samsung has been churning out overpriced junk for the past 5 years. This Razr+ is the best phone I've ever owned, and Motorola might have just earned loyalty from me.
Correction: it's not true that you can get the Motorola with 512gb. It is true if you live in Europe, but in the US they only sell the 256gb. It's so ridiculous, that it was a deal breaker for me, that and the fact that they removed the ultra wide camera. I purchased the Samsung S Flip 6. What are Motorola bigshots thinking?
I don't know anyone who keeps a phone for 7 years but I guess it's nice to know that's an option. I'm not really a fan of Samsung because of their heavy UI but it does feel more polished than Motorola's Hello UI. Motorola's Gestures are very handy, especially the chop flashlight. I think it all comes down to what you feel is important in a smartphone. Honestly I'm looking forward to the pixel 9 lol
im old man and this is my 2nd phone. Had samsung 22. I miss my flip cell phone.. dont watch internet or alot of videos. Bought it for small size. Comes in a few days and will post review. Got 400 off for taking mid range program. 300 too pay up off phone and my payment will stay same. got mil discount and got a verizon visa ,only time I use the cc. ordered off web site..
The Razr+ 2024 (named Ultra outside of the US), to the best of my knowledge, is not sold with 512gb in the US. It is only 256gb in the US even though you said the opposite in your video. Outside of the US, the Razr+/Ultra is sold with 512gb.
I'm getting my second Flip because it looks better and feels better (mostly because i am a pro photographer) the Moto looks good too. This review is great because they are both great in different ways. I think the the Samsung is more sophisticated and the Moto is more flashy
As a RAZR 2023 owner... the HW is amazing, solid, reliable. But I have buyer's remorse. The SW, is a train wreck. Their complete lack of response to marketed key functionality being broken, seemingly permanently, by SW updates is a huge blow to customer satisfaction. Even in the much belated Android update - use of voice assistant with the phone closed, eg - hands free operation - reportedly remains broken for more than seven months. Moto needs to step up their SW game to win me back.
The video quality is clearly superior on the Motorola as it appears lifelike with true colours, the Samsung seems filtered or washed out slightly. I have seen the same on other reviews.
I just got a replacement phone for my zflip 4 in a week or two im going to upgrade to either the zflip 6 or the razr i had to replace my phone because after so many thousands of opening and shutting of the phone the built in screen protector starts to bubble and crack.. im hoping this is something they fixed with these phones
Motorola is the better flip in my opinion. I love the cover screen and i actually like the new hello os. The colors and designs are better than Sammy as well to me. Last, the price is right.
I had the scooter, but it smelled completely of perfume. I ordered it three times from different countries. They all smelled of perfume. (ordered in Europe)
I have a dumb question. I'm looking to see which phone would be best if I upgrade. I have a samsung and I actually use the Theme's store for my S21. Can you still use the theme's store on the Motorola? I don't know anything about there system. But idk if it'll be a deal breaker since I prefer the theme store to personalize my phone. TY in advance. Sorry if its a dumb question.
got the base model Razr and its perfect for me. I didnt need anything the plus offered. plus I sorta like the smaller front screen, I have somewhere to grab that isnt screen
The Motorola video you took looked more real. The Samsung looked auto edited by ai... ai is something most people want tobstay away from. idk where you got the price but the moto is 700 cheaper or more just about everywhere. You can pick up the moto from like 4-500 just about with all providers sooo your review is lacking a bit of research
Yes, but Razr+ 2024 is snappier with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor versus slower MediaTek Dimensity 7300X on the non plus. The ultrawide lens on the non plus is only 13 megapixels (MP), whereas the telephoto lens on the plus is also 50 MP like the main camera. Honestly, most of the time, 0.5x zoom gets the job done unless you want a huge panoramic shot, which is...
Me too!! But I just upgraded to the iPhone 15 Plus. And I’m moving and don’t have a job yet. But once I have extra money, I’m getting the Razr just for fun. 😂
I go for the normal rzr 50 and its amazing device its still better than flip 6, do you know how i can use the always on display? I cant find it, thanks
Everybody loves Razor foldable UNTIL they find out they can't set the screen at any angle possible for videos cause it just folds ... THAT'S why those Flip beauty hinges are stiff, strong and holding it ... one hand ... two hands to open it isn't the selling point .... USEABILITY .... blehhhh !!
Uh, other reviewers found they can open the Razr with one hand. It would be the Flip that you have to use two hands because of the stiff hinges. Also, stiff doesn't necessarily mean sturdy.
Definitely getting the razr 24 plus is more elegant bigger screen on the outside, and because I'm tired of samsung. I only had this galaxy s22 and I'm tired of it.
My Galaxy S20 FE 5G (what a mouthful, bad naming scheme) has served me well, but I'm ready to go back to flip phones now that the technology making them usable is here. Based on some elements of this review and others, I'd go for the Razr+ 2024 as well. The full outer display with no cutoff is a plus... Razr plus lol
LOL Yes! And mine was set to China time, 12 hours different from Eastern Time. Took me a little bit to figure out why my calendar items were 12 hours off.
