Most people complain about the fold without having it. I have many different phones from many different brands. This is the most versatile and amazing phones around. S21 ultra and fold 3 are two completely different phones, in terms of uses. People are acting like we are taking cameras out of a potato. I don't care about being able to look up someone's nose 10 meters away.
@@awaiizY same mate i selling ip13 pro max after using this fold the onehanded experience and the movie no phone right now ever feeling good like this for me
I love this phone! I also don't think I'll ever be going back to a traditional candybar phone. If ever I will be upgrading it will only be to the next fold.
@@awaiizY hi I just got my Fold 4 3 days ago and am loving it. I upgraded from a oneplus9pro (I miss the alert slider 🥲) other than that I'm in love with the fold for reading mangas and light novels and some books. I'm just wondering if you still have your fold , and if so how has it held up and how do you feel about it now? Thank you in advance for any information you can offer!😁🙏
@Derek Hall honestly you just gotta turn a bunch of things off on the phone. That's what I did and my battery percentage changed to normal. Alot of people don't know that you have to do that with the fold 3. It's all about turning off apps ur not using cuz they run in the background and that's why ur battery drains fast
@@MrTopXman for me it's really good, only very slightly less than s21 ultra. I've been watching RU-vid and playing emulations today, 4h30m sot and still 45 percent left.
I made the change from the S21 to the Fold 3. Here is what I think : Contrary to what everyone else says, the screens aren't identical. Resolution on the Fold 3 is (in my mind) considerably worse. Watching movies is clearly not as enjoyable as on the S21, as far as clarity of the picture is concerned. The pen situation is also not comparable. First of, with the S21 the extra case will hold the pen nicely. The Fold 3 case is awkward at best. Try and put down the Fold 3 with this case flat on a table so you can actually write on it; there is no way to do this (unless you remove the entire sleeve for the pen, but who takes that time.). Furthermore, the pen works only on the Fold 3. Now, I also work with a Tab S7+, and I now have to carry around 2 pens with me at all times, and I constantly have to check which pen I need. Or I can switch to the (giant!) S pen pro. Now I have to switch modes every time I use a different device. Plus getting the S pen pro out of the sleeve is really tricky and takes time. And it doesn't even have a little clip to keep it firm in your pocket. Not very useful really. On the S21 you can use any pen you have in your hand or available. Plain convenient. The front screen on the Fold 3 is a bit too narrow. Especially typing is sometimes difficult. Even though both phones should perform identical, I feel that the Fold 3 is not as snappy as the S21 (I had it for more than a week now, so everything should be settled in). Even though I'm an average camera user, I'm not as happy with the camera on the Fold 3. I simply think that the picture quality altogether is not as good. But again, maybe this is only me. Or the resolution on the Fold. The fingerprint reader on the Fold 3 works extremely reliable and fast, way better than on the S21. Reason being is perhaps my age. The fingerprints on older people literally wear out. It seems that the Fold 3 has less problems with this situation. I have to work a lot with larger pdf files, and I have found that the Fold actually can replace a tablet in many instances. Certainly not if you want to work on a file for hours, but I already had a few cases where I could leave my tablet at the house. (Would have been extra nice to also have an S pen with a clip for my pocket.) Being able to work on files, reading newspapers and kindle books, watching movies (even though the resolution is not perfect), and better typing on the large screen are the reasons for me to keep the Fold 3. Also, the Fold 3 is a really enjoyable device. It has "charm", for whatever reason.
I had s21 ultra and I bought fold 3. Fold 3 much more enjoyable in every aspect. The screen resolution look identical and more enjoyable due to the large canvas.
Of course the resolution is not as sharp. It’s a big screen with less PPI compared to a 500-600 ppi regular candy bar screen. Even my iPad Pro 12.9 doesn’t look as sharp as my iPhone and it’s way higher resolution then 1440p. If you’re looking for sharpness then stick to none tablets
I actually really like using the fold 3 cover screen, it's narrow and I can easily reach the whole screen with one thumb and the thickness makes it feel more secure in the hand
I've had the phone about a month now and I can tell you it was absolutely worth the upgrade from the s21 ultra. The screen real estate versus sacrificing the main camera totally worth it.
Ya is the battery really that bad? How is it with an average user perspective. I have a S20 ultra right now, had it since launch but I'm really leaning toward the fold 3 over the s21 ultra but the battery life reviews are steering me away.
I UPGRADED from the S21 Ultra to the Fold 3. From my perspective it's a clear upgrade. I use my Samsung for work. The multitasking improvements are enough to justify. Content consumption (not work) is amazing. I was a previous Note die hard. I found I began using the S-Pen less and less but still overall enjoyed the larger screen. The fold 3 seems to be about the perfect size of screen. Still a phone not exactly a tablet. Very pleased with the purchase.
Made wrong choice all it has is a bigger screen everything else the s21 ultra is better a cheaper the fold is way to much for just a bigger screen but good luck on that
I have both phones. I don't notice a performance difference, but the camera is such a crazy difference. 21 ultra Is simply better on the camera. But nonetheless I use the fold 3 as my main
The build quality on my Fold 3 is impeccable. Pretty hard to even consider anything else now that I've used the fold for a couple weeks. I migrated from a Samsung S8+, so I was due... the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra didn't feel like a significant upgrade from the S8+. New form factor is a game changer if you like to text with your thumbs on a fat finger keyboard.
That 5G uses a lot of battery and if you are using those air pods via Bluetooth it's gonna drain battery super fast! I always have dark mode black wallpaper and batter saving mode on.
@@rickyjames9413 60Hz is best for battery saving only go 120Hz is you play game or certain fast apps. Best solution is having an extra wireless powerbank to charge up your phone.
@@rickyjames9413 Yes but don't over charge your battery to 100% there is protection setting for battery. It automatically charge to 80% or 85% since battery can't be swapped anymore. You need to be careful with battery care its gonna be less and less year after year...
Choose Fold 3 over my note 21 ultra ... Honest I love it. It's a choice of preference.. to be honest how much and how many pictures do you take using a 100x times zoom.. I'm a dude so I'm not big on selfie pictures really.
@@14kafil Seems Samsung read their ideas, because supposedly the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be a NOTE merger with S Pen. So I assume the top of the line branches will be FOLD and NOTE for the flagships.
Thank you soo much for pointing out that, not everybody is really professional about what the claim to be, there are a lot of things the fold can do that no other phone can do
@@codyhenderson4832 I understand that. However, it doesn't function on your phone the way that it does on the fold. My point is there are features on the fold that are unique to the fold or unique in how they function on the fold.
I currently have both the fold 3 and note 20 ultra (will be selling one). Personally I think these devices are soooo different it's hard to actually compare then. You did a Great job in this video!!! Personally I think I will be keeping the fold. Once you go to the folds massive 120 hz display, you just can't go back to something even as big as 5he note 20 ultra.
Samsung is on the right track, especially after they see the strong and unexpected demand for the Fold 3. They aren't a lot wrong with the Fold 3, that's why I would tell anyone that wants one to wait for the Fold 4. Samsung will most likely iron out the few kinks.
I got the fold 3 and I agree with this. I love this phone but while there aren't any big problems, they're are small ones that all add on top of each other. I'm excited for the 4 so I can trade in the 3
What you say makes no sense. Let me explain. If one can destroy a display with fingernails it's rubbish. If after a while pixels start to die where the crease is, and the damages spread i can only shake my head. You get mediocre cameras and a lousy selfi camera. Most apps are not adjusted to the display form factor of the folds and hence they look crummy. If u want to use a case u have to glue the case to the phone 😅. If the display has any issues out of warranty make yourself ready to pay 700 Dollars for a new one. This mobiles just make no sense. And this is coming from a technology lover who owned smart devices way back when there we're only palm pilots available or Sony Clie mini computers.
@@Lion_Hamza That's What I've Noticed As Well 🤔 They Don't Even Have Longer Battery Life To Put My Mind At Ease About Paying $500 More For An Unprotected Investment
@@Lion_Hamza Not arguing against you here, I agree there is a lot lacking in the Fold 3 for the cost. But the Fold 3 has 2 selfie cameras, the outside one is the same as the S21 ultra, it's the inside one that's not as good. But the actual camera array is awful on the Fold 3 for the price, and battery life. $400 more than the S21 ultra and the only real upgrade is screen size.
I love my fold 3, I upgraded from the note 20 ultra. I thought I'd really moss it but I could not go back to a regular phone now. I love phablet!!! Phone/tablet. Had it for 5 months now.
Currently switching to fold 3 from iPhone X. Making sure to get a upgrade program, so I can keep upgrading to the new folds every year. We all know it’ll get better and better. Dust rating and a better camera will probably be on the Fold 4!
The fold should have included the small s-pen then you would have the perfect phone. I have been a Note User for 4 years and use the s-pen daily. I dont like the large pen in the fold bc I have to buy a special case for it, but then those cases covers the front screen.
I have been a Note user since Note 4 however, I must admit the case I got for the Surface Duo works as Ihave one loop on shell and another on the duo itself. No where near as cool as integrattion that yells at you when your pen is missing but you get used to it.
@@rajasnagpurkar As far as the Note goes: 1.) sign things without requiring a printer, this is why having it inside your device or attached is convieniant. 2.) Notes in Onenote 3.) Ebook notes 4.) sometimes its easier to select in between hard to get to spots with your finger vs tiny tip of the pen. 5. Cheetoproof 6. Can remotely take a picture from a distance with a click. * those are the first few things Iuse the pen for off hand* Once in a blue moon color and all that jazz but yeah
@@rajasnagpurkar I use my s-pen to talk notes in conference calls on-site meetings. I also use it to take phots and take notes when doing site inspections. Or when Im out of the office at store and someone calls..i will write down some notes. If I can write clearly it will then convert it to text then PDF . i never talk any note pads to meetings anymore
You could have guessed that, and that's why I didn't think about an upgrade for a second: The camera setup of the S21 Ultra is currently the best you can find on the market. Since photography is my hobby, you have to pry my S21 Ultra from my cold dead fingers.
@@fhesseti7976 I had a camera and lens park. That now covers the S21 Ultra very well. Practically 4 fixed focal lengths always with me and I love the 3x focal length (about 80mm KB). Yes, it's computerized photography, but the results are respectable and I save myself hours I used to spend on the RAW converter. The only use I can think of for a separate camera is focal lengths of 400mm (plus X) for wildlife or sports photography. On vacation, I still take a Canon m3 as a backup.
@@klause.9182 Photography maybe but low light photography can't be done that well and video is definitely out of the question. If you shoot video the ultra won't help and tbh the fold and the ultra have very similar cameras from my experience but the fold is amazing for editing on the go. Can even use remote desktop on that big screen and use my actual PC to do stuff like Photoshop or whatever
I never thought I'd say this. But it's fold 3 for me over my s21 ultra. Fold is the new king! Don't get me wrong the s21 ultra is still the best overall mobile phone available right now . But the fold has many of the ultras characteristics and many more on top. But also a few downgrades in the camera department. But the cameras are still very capable. What I like is the fact that it's different! It's new, exciting and innovative. The ultra is just a fantastic phone. But ultimately the same as all the others. The fold is new ! I thought I'd hate the front screen, and yes it's narrow but you can get most things done on it. The inner screen is absolutely beautiful! Most apps work now and that makes it even better. The fold isn't for everyone but you aren't going to know until you try! Hopefully next year the fold 4 will have a slightly wider screen. But the again if you are going to use the front screen all the time then that's a waste and stick to the ultra.
Interesting that you present the fingerprint sensor as better on the S21 Ultra when under-display sensors are actually way worse, more unreliable, and can have more false positives than the one mounted on the side. Also having to put your finger on the center is actually less comfortable than gripping the sides of the phone when you pick it up to unlock it.
Great objective comparison. I'm an iPhone user and I am very undecided as to which one to get. Your vlog is very helpful. I am going for the Fold 3. Thank you.
Had the choice to upgrade to the S21 Ultra or Fold 3 and I choose the latter. The S21 is just a slight upgrade on my S20 whereas the Fold 3 is a whole different level. The differences in the cameras are not nearly enough to offset a 2 in 1 device. No brainer for me!
I got s20 ultra when it came out. So I'm still holding out for the s22. Hopefully it'll be worth it, because I already paid my phone off. On another note I'm love I'm 46mm lte sliver classic.
so you talk about what's difficult but why didn't you bring up flex mode for the camera section for the fold and that you can use take a picture of someone and video and they can see how it looks 🤔. this wasn't a full comparison you have to show everything the fold 3 does it seems like you try to make it like the s21 ultra does more. some of your videos have been lacking
I think the "fear" of the fold screen breaking is all in the person's mind. I tap my z fold 3 with my nail and use it just like my s21 ultra.... It hasn't broke yet 😂
Yeah, just by the ads Samsung has done, it seems to target 'gamers' and video streamers. The S21U targets, well, photography folk. Granted, I know the 100x zoom is crap, but from what I've seen, 30x zoom is still decent enough. Fold goes up to 10x, which isn't bad either. In my case, I don't stream much videos on my current s8+, mostly just browse web, twitter, IG, etc. But I do take a shitload of photos lol. If I want to stream videos, I have a chromebook for that. Sure, the Fold is enticing, but maybe I'll get a later revision when cameras improve :/
Hi Saki Now that S22 Ultra is released, so u recommend buying fold 3? I know for sure battery life and cámaras are not so good. I've had been seeing videos that people are complaining of the durability of the screen of fold 3, they say that with normal usage the screen can brake easily!
After this, I am even more convinced to keep my S21 ultra. A complete phone in every area. Not afraidto use it in every condition. I want to use a phone with peace of mind and not afraid of damaging the inner screen with an accidental finger nail touch. Many thanks for your elaborate illustration.
Bought fold 3 few days back, and it changes the way i use to work before. many things are handy now for which used to carry different devices. a good business phone.
This is my issue I need to decide. I'm loving my fold 3 right now tho honestly do I need to zoom in 100x but I enjoyed the laser auto focus. I just don't know why couldn't samsung put the 40mp front facing camera on the fold 3. Lol I still have more days so we will see if I trade my s21 ultra.
I am so glad I upgraded from my s21 ultra, just got my z fold 3 days ago & it's amazing & it's so smooth & fast with the downloading speed & the full screen on the RU-vid is the best.
It's odd to me the camera quality can be the make or break for some people, but for me atleast the fold has been amazing, especially in terms of gaming. Also being able to type again with one hand using the cover screen feels more versatile in my opinion.
It depends on what is it used for. I guess 99% of the people who want the Fold doesn't really care about the camera, Fold is not a camera phone. On the other hand, the Flex mode camera of the Fold is very useful so that one can take pics and videos vithout using a tripod.
Great video and thanks for your information. You left me more confused but that's not a bad thing. I have a galaxy s20 5g. What are your thoughts about the benifets of going from that to each of these?
Audio is important too. The sensor should be on the buttons or on the case. My husband is blind and can't use the in display. That makes his phone a security risk
Have to disagree with the under display fingerprint scanner. Having it on the power button is a time saver. I have it on my s10e. I press it down and my phone auto bypasses the lock screen.
I had the S10 lite, had an under display scanner that was horribly inaccurate. One of the most underrated features of the Fold is the insanely accurate fingerprint reader.
Good work as always. Interesting you didnt mention the S21 Ultra defults to 12 MP with pixel bending like all Samsung phones (you have to go in to pro mode to get 108MP).
Yes they put a button that lests you change it on the fly but to really use it properly you need to go in to pro mode because it locks out the other camera lens on the phone when you do that. If you dont want access to the wide angle or tele then cool use it.
I Love my S21 Ultra 5G. I have no reason to upgrade just yet. Yes the foldable is is awesome to have, but I'll be sacrificing some features including the Cameras. Both phones are great.
How so much clarity ✨️ you gave with every valid point ! Class video . Does all apps which work in Samsung Note 10 plus( which I currently use ) , work in this phone ? RU-vid videoz are my fav . Will they work full screen .. I guess all silly doubts , but since its expensive 😃I need to care about these things..thanks a ton
100x zoom us actually 10x optical and 10x digital. So not the clearest at full resolution. I can't think of a situation where this is going to be usable. Fold 3 is definitely versatile though.
You forgot to mention the Dex application that the S21 Ultra has. You basically turn your S21 into a laptop or desktop if you connect it to an external monitor.
Some things I miss on my Fold 3,can't use my DJI OM5 gimbal and can't install to use DJI Go 4 app to use my Mavic Pro drone,no jack for wired headphones too
It's funny when I hear people talk about how thick the fold3 is when it's folded. Did you folks ever handle a regular phone back in the day?? They were quite thick! 😂
Poor s pen implementation makes this a no go for me. A shame that one of the biggest features for the ZF3 has very little support. So far there's only 1 case for s pen and it covers the outer screen. I returned my ZF3 and stuck with my S21U which has several cases for s pen.
@@arielm7643 case manufacturers get the specs way in advance to create cases so they are available upon release. The s pen being a key feature of the ZF3 means it should have been a priority. Major fail.

Speaking of fold. Does it has any duration limitation for 4k video? I ask because my old Note 9 can only record 10 minutes straight because of the "possible overheating". Never had the overheating warning and having to check every 10 minutes was annoying.
cameras downgrade from z fold 3 to note 20 ultra? have you seen the cameras blind comparison done by max tech? z fold 3 cameras smoked apple 12, pro max n 21 ultra in almost every categories. Well it's neck to neck with 21 ultra. So people like to make prejudgment and draw their own conclusions right before to do any fair comparison just base on the specs. That ain't fair.
Honestly if you do anything tha takes advantage of the larger screen (gaming or ESPECIALLY manga/comics or reading ebooks for example) its really not even close. Same with if you don't do those things. 21 ultra is much better in that case. Also the experience with the pen isn't the same as the screen size makes a BIG difference. Anyways I think the point is the bigger screen and either you need a tablet with you and this will alleviate that need or you don't and its pointless.
I currently have the Note 20 Ultra and I'm waiting until next year. So I could pray that a new Note comes out or I'll see if the S22 looks good. I really don't want the new iPhone 13 pro max.
Once you use fold 3 for some days you will never go back. Sorry guys. But thats the truth i have a 21 ultra and a pro max 12 no way im leaving the fold ever
