Why not just bring the plus series closer to the ultra series in terms of features and call it a day? Why introduce the complexity around changing series' names? Personally I don't like the moniker Pro. It means professional or productive, and all the phones are surely professional and productive phones? Plus made more sense to me as it is a plus size phone and plus features, and ultra have all the features available Update: having said that, Samsung is already using Pro moniker for different SKUs of their laptops, watches and buds, so maybe they should just complete the use of Pro on their phones and tablets despite it being a weird way to distinguish a SKU
Samsung has already done this with the S24 Series. The S24 Plus has 12GB RAM [same as S24U], same UHD+ Resolution, 4900 mAh Battery [S24U has 5000 mAh[. The S24 Plus is literally the best deal [unless you care about the Cameras or the S-Pen]. Getting the Ultra's Camera Systems to the Plus would be near impossible [cause you'll have to compromise on the Battery]. Further, the iPhone 15 Pro Max's has things the 15 Pro doesn't [especially the Camera if I'm not wrong]. So, I see no point for a S25 Pro ngl.
Yeah but the cameras on the standard S24/Plus are a huge step back compared to the Ultra even the S21 Ultra from 3 generations ago has better cameras than the S24/Plus so does the midrange Pixels.
@@wizzgamer Agreed, but they still dish out Flagship-grade photos and videos, and they're simply excellent for most of the people. Then, if you care so much about the quality of the photos and videos, then the Ultra is there for you. But I think that makes a case for a 'smaller' Ultra, doesn't it. Which has superior Cameras than the S-Series lineup. Which is exactly the point of this video lmao. I'm demolishing my own argument lollolol.
How does the s24 or s24 plus not compete or compare to the iPhone 15 pro? The base s24 has everything the iPhone 15 pro has and for hundreds less. Just say you want a smaller version of the ultra.
S24 has the worst screen out of the competition in that space. Pixel 8 has 428 pixels per inch, and iPhone 15 Pro has 461 pixels per inch, whereas the S24 has a meager 416 pixels per inch. I would be fine with simply a resolution bump for the base S25 model, and yeah potentially some camera upgrades like the 200MP sensor and a periscope lens as well as a titanium body. I don't think it's much to ask!
No because we both know that would make apple push up the prices making the pro same price and ultra even more expensive and giving pro models smaller bump up in specs each year
I doubt Samsung will be interested in this strategy. They will not want to diminish the sales of their Ultra variant when so much of the features are in the "Pro" model. And also they will probably suffer a loss when they release four models for their flagships. I honestly don't see this happening.
Yes I hope so. I want a small 6,3 inch samsung phone with ultra cameras. Just what Google and Apple have now. So total 4 different mobile. I would like a digital zoom of 50 and optical zoom of 5 times. More like s24 ultra. I think many people will like it.
I agree with you I like the size of the plus but the cameras are just not good enough so yeah if they made a s25 pro I would be very interested in getting that
The FE is inferior to even the Plus, so I don't get your point. He wants a model that's closer to the ultra. Samsung means 3 stars, so i doubt there will be 4 models in the S series. They should ditch the Plus and introduce the "S Ultra mini." The FE will then be specd as the plus model and sold as such because already the rumours for the S24 FE is that its very very similar to the Plus
They just need to call the baseline "Pro," and that's it: S25 Pro, S25 Pro+, and then the S25 Ultra. Give the S25 Pros grade 2 titanium, 12 GB of RAM for both models, higher mAh batteries, and this year's Ultra cameras except for the 5x. That way, they are the true competitors to Apple's and Google's Pro lineups, while the Ultra sits in a class of its own.
To make the Ultra feel even more "Ultra," give it grade 5 titanium, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of starting storage, a higher-clocked Snapdragon, a new 1-inch sensor main camera plus newer 3x and ultrawide lenses, the S Pen, an even better display, a bigger battery (5,500 mAh+), and since it is the powerhouse, maybe bring back the SD slot (especially since Samsung keeps making incredibly fast and high-capacity SD cards).
I think it would be a great marketing victory for Samsung if reviewers were comparing the 16 Pro Max to a potential S25 Pro Plus and not to the Ultra, like: The S25 Pro+ is already better than the Pro Max; if you want to go to the next level, get the Ultra. Because the way things are right now, the baseline models are forgotten, and all the attention goes to the Ultra.
The plus version needs to be a more similar to the Ultra variant than it is to the base models. The S24 Plus got it right this year, just needs the same cameras as the ultra.
How about a Cheaper version of s24u. Like galaxy note 10 lite was affordable alternative of flagship note 10 series. I wish an affordable s pen experience for us😅
Samsung, please listen to this guy! 100% on what I would want.. it makes sense!!! Would love to see S25 with top notch specs on the S24+ size or around that size. I have big hands and ultra is too big to carry it around all day. Please give us options! Thanks!
Why not adapt the same strategy during the s10 line up. Regular S10 has the same specs as the s10+ except for one hardware feature which is the double cam in the front.
I think finally this year Samsung put some real effort into the plus model, and let me tell you, it's an incredible device. In years past, Samsung used the plus model just to push customers to the ultra model. In my opinion, the next plus model needs to have S Pen functionality, and it would be complete-no need for a pro model.
Found the S23U and the iP13PM both too big & heavy so went down to the S24 & the iP15Pro. Now quite a happy bunny...would've _prefered_ an S24Pro though - the S24 size is much much better though and plenty big enough for me.
What about the Samsung fan edition. Isn't that a "4th" phone that Samsung produces which is similar to apple's iphone production? To me i see the Samsung Galaxy s23 fe as the "first" phone before the s23 because its cheap and has some features of the previous s22. To some they might see it to be in between the s23 and the s23+, Depends on individual. 👀
I think Samsung needs to focus on their pricing. I dont think their yearly "upgrades" justify the super high price tag when oneplus is around $1k for the top flagship
No, that isn't a great strategy. They have the Z series of folds and flips too, with another S series phone, there'll be too many phones to focus on. They already have 5 flagship choices they need to develop. Most consumers want bugger displays without any other thought, that is a fact. A very small population care about a smaller phone. If iPhone Max was the only pro model, most people would still buy it.
I thought this was silly 😂 The plus model is the pro with having the name brand pro It's smaller it doesn't have an S pen Also, design differently It's cheaper
If they call the base s series pro basically this guy would have no problem. The base s series are as good as good and have the same features even as a pro max iphone The base s series is better than the base iphone and base pixel but costs the same as them The ultra is for those who want the ultra. And ultra phones cant be small and have four cameras huge batteries etc. The current lineup is the best
Wow so you mean: They should make S25 Ultra, and rename planned S25 Ultra to Note 25? What a revolution. No we need an S25 Pro that is 6.1-6.3" with all the Ultra spec to be Android replacement for the iP16 Pro model, I have to use an iPhone pro, as I find big phones ugly and clunky, and in the sea of 6.7-7.0" phones, you are suggesting we need 6.6" phone?
Probably useless. What a lot of people need is a powerful phone without the need for a good camera. Put a good CPU and an average camera. Also always the medium size is there to force people to buy the large. Even when you buy popcorn at a movie theater. Of course it would be the weakest. It's a marketing strategy. Not a real product.
They need to bring back what use to be Samsung but they arnt as long as they come out with a new phone you will promote them nothing new updates camera repeat 😔 it's kinda boring if you ask me as most phones are I only care for upgrade ability lol not once you say micro SD and that is ware they are missing up cause you truly don't care for upgrade ability you want to push a phone yearly
They already do. Its called the ultra. We dont need to keep renaming every companies new flagship with a new buzzword all the time. They just keep charging more each time.
Yes! samsung just needs to turn the plus into a pro and bring back the curve screen and rounded corners with a bigger battery due to no s pen slot and it would fly of the shelves. also maybe upgrade the aluminum to stainless steel and now we talking
Is the material of the rails a significant feature for you? I only ask because I feel like most people put their phones in cases and couldn't care less about what the rails are made of. Do you keep a case-less phone?
@@AndroidAuthority it really not a big deal but more like a bonus feature for me. For the most part i keep my phone in case but for me it's more of a feel thing to me as i equate heavier phones to be more durable or higher quality even though that not scientifically true case in point my fold 4 which is really heavy but i had to replace the inner screen twice now 😂 maybe i just like heavier phones lol 🤷♂
Yes. I want the most features possible in the smallest form factor possible. The regular 6.2 inch S25 with Titanium and the Ultra camera system would be the S25 Pro for me. If they have make it thicker then make it thicker. Flush cameras would be good.
Trying to squeeze that many cameras in a small form factor is going to be an engineering marvel because there's no way they can squeeze a big battery in there with 4 sensors
Main reason for implementing the Pro should be its very compact size (almost close to the base model) but featuring premium qualities of the Ultra. The Plus is simply too big in size for almost anybody to hold one-handed which is why they opted to get the Ultra instead. Google Pixel 9 Pro being around 6.1-6.2 inches across is the golden size for almost everyone while packing the top of the line, premium features.
If they really wanted a 4 phone lineup like Apple, they would have not discontinued the Note line. That way they have the S and S Plus equivalent to the non Pro iPhones and the Note and Note Plus for the Pro iPhones' counterpart. But yeah all they need to is make the Plus model better. No need for a smaller Ultra.
What we really need, and what I don't understand, is why the Pixel 9 Pro hasn't completely surpassed the iPhone in terms of photos and videos. It's time for the Pixel to reclaim its crown in photography and take a new one in video. We don't need artificial intelligence or that sort of thing; it's always the thing we need.
I have the Galaxy s24 Plus but I would definitely be open for a 6.3 to 6.4 Galaxy s25 pro something with better cameras as the s24 Plus is really good phone except the cameras are not up to the quality that other $1,000 phones are it's just not it's good but $1,000 phone should have the best camera anyway that's my thinking
Why do you spend so much time talking about the name of the in-between model? No one gives a shit if it's called Plus, Pro or Potato. You're so out of touch it's baffling
Great video, spot on! Samsung does not have a competitor for iPhone 14/15/16 PRO models. That means compact flagships. S24 is compact, but not a true flagship. The Ultra is the only real flagship Samsung has, but is way to big to be comfortable to use. That's why I have been an iPhone user in the last 4 years, although I am a big Android fan. I just hate Samsung lately...
I think this video was absolutely unnecessary, but i respect your vision. We have 3 line-ups, make your choice, or use an apple device. Stop making everyone want to adopt iPhone 's naming convention. Maybe they should call the Plus, Pro, so you'll be happy, right?
Everyone cries about having a powerful phone with a smaller form factor, but when it comes to buying it nobody does. We used to have great phones in small sizes like the iPhone mini lineup, Zenfone, Xperia compacts, but none of them survived in the market. That being said, Samsung just needs to get rid of the Plus models. They provide the least value of all the other phones.
