I have the M8 monitor in my bedroom. I mainly use it as a smart tv but I do some web browsing every now and then. The speakers are perfectly fine and the design of it matches my room perfectly. The M8 is an excellent value for the price (I also got mine 15% off). No need to spend double the price if you're not a gamer or if you don't plan on making it your full time work computer.
can i connect a pc to it ? witrh hdmi cable and use it only for pc to watch movies and play games without using the s smart apps and if i connect it with hdmi with my pc will hdr gaming still be there or restricted
The best review that no one has done, no one? Stop comparing 1:1 to an Apple Studio Display that is double the cost, and clearly more better built e.g. metal frame vs plastic, sound quality, etc, etc.... Not the same. If you have a small apartment or dorm-style you're going to like the Samsung M8 versatility. Hands down. I have an iMac 27" 5K but guess what? It's ALSO a computer! And I don't tap it like you did, lol everyday it just sits there. I also have a height adjustable desk. I will never buy a $1600 Apple Studio Display, which means you still have to buy a Mac Mini or whatever investment. C'monnn. It's a no brainer Apple is trying to make more money off that overpriced thing, but for cost-conscientious people it's a lose-lose considering Apple tech moves so fast in 2 years it's "old" tech for the next shiny updated release. Total racket considering M8 already dropped to $599 OR get an open box OR renewed model for less. I thought about buying a Apple Studio Display but I wanted a 32" that can at least double up as a tv when I'm in my living room in my small apartment. Getting off my soapbox now.
Would you please review this monitor in "Black Smearing test". Scroll bright & colorful Texts in both Portrait & Landscape setup (Stand+VESA adapter) in dark background. (like dark theme in IDE programming environment) Is M8 as a vertical monitor worth it? (For reading & Coding) Is this monitor too big for vertical setup?
I used Samsung smart things app to do smart calibration but I think it only works while watching movies and other apps on home screen but as soon as switch to PC MODE it only shows two picture modes
Is there some kind of electrical discharge/current flow when you connect the type c or HDMI cable to your laptop? For mine, I can feel some electrical shock/numbness when the wires are connect. Not sure if it's due to a manufacturing defect or something else.
I just got one, and while I'm happy overall, I'm extremely disappointed to discover that the webcam only works if you connect the M8 to a MacBook Pro using a USB-C port (of which there are few). If you connect the monitor to the M1 MacBook Pro 14" using the mini HDMI, the webcam is rendered useless. The computer fails to detect the camera. I wish someone had told me. In fact, I'm surprised every single of the couple dozen YiouTube reviewers I've watched failed to make note of this.
I haven't tried this yet but the camera comes with an adapter that connects it to the monitor. If you remove the adapter there's a USB socket on the camera. I am thinking you could possibly try connecting a USB-C lead to USB A lead and try using it independently this way?
I can't sign into Google meets on the monitor it's self. When I do tv sign in on my phone it won't discover the tv. I am on the same network. ANY tips?
Does anyone have going full screen issue on the monitor? I changed the ratio so now it's full screen hut my laptop screen ratio looks weird bc the adjustment. Also my laptop screen looks much more detailed especially texts wise, do I need to do some settings/display adjustment?
Thanks for the feedback! I actually got the Studio Display for my work. As I said in the video, it's a not a good deal, a highly overpriced product but for my work, it's excellent. It assures seamless workflow with the MacBook Pro. For me, it's a tool that improved the productivity to achieve a some sort work/life balance :)
Right now I use the iPhone 13 Pro Max because it has the best video, so I can use it as on the go camrecorder for my videos. However, I keep swapping from one phone to another at least a few times a week. Right now I'm also using Sony Xperia 1 IV too (review is coming out soon). Which phone do you use?
