I used Samsung Pay yesterday and the cashier almost argued with me that it wouldnt work.. I kept saying "can I try it?" and he kept saying "its not going to work." Soon as I put the phone up to the terminal.. beep.. and he looked at me and said "everyone has tried it to use their phone and you're the first person that it worked for..." the look on his face was priceless... Thank you Samsung Pay for not allowing me to get played! lol

Marissa Chavez yes it works at Walmart I think you just have to tell them you are not doing Walmart pay. I always just use self check out at Walmart to avoid argurments.

*He's doing it so wrong. You don't have to put your fingerprint on the button the entire time. Scan your fingerprint, THEN LET GO and place the phone PARALLEL to the card reader, not perpendicular, NOT the NFC like what he did in McDonald's. Did he check if his NFC was on.. PLEASE READ THE EFFING MESSAGE ON THE PHONE SCREEN*

NFC turns on automatically when Samsung Pay is on. Then NFC is turned off when you exit Samsung Pay. NFC doesn't have to be on.

I have used Samsung Pay for 2 months now and I can say it works at 90% of places you buy anything. I constantly surprise the cashiers as most have never been able to have a phone pay for purchase. I have Android pay and used to have Apple pay and Samsung for sure is better and works more places. Also most times it's best to use it against the area you swipe your card... some terminals that show NFC are for NFC credit cards so the phone will show error like it did in the video but just put the phone next to where you swipe and it works. If a terminal shows Apple pay or Android pay then place your phone at the NFC section and it will work as NFC no problem.

Part of the reason you were having difficulty, is because you're laying your phone on the credit card device. Your phone is supposed to be a ¼-½ inch away from the card reader. Also when you were at McDonald's, laying it on that wifi reading mat does not work. You always have to place your phone next to the card reader, the location where you would physically swipe your card. When you were beginning to use it, you were holding your phone on the credit card reader while using your finger print.... you are supposed to open the app, authenticate with your finger print, then lay the phone on the credit card reader.

See I live in Australia, and we haven't used magnetic card strips in over 6 years. EVERYONE supports the chip and 99% support NFC.

palillo2006 true apple likes to play it safe. But they are the originator of the smart hpone as we know it and build a eco system because that was missing on the so called older symbian smart phones. But this whole 1:1 copy samsung does is taking it to a new level.

I'm so glad they finally added Wells Fargo. I went to buy a few things, and they all accepted Samsung Pay. At first they were like.. We don't accept Apple P.. *beep* Oh that's Samsung lol. This one cashier gasped and said Apple Pay never works at the store and that the iPhone isn't always all that then lol. 😙❤

your problem is you keep hold your finger on the fingerprint every time when you use SAMSUNG PAY just scan your finger and then put your phone up to the terminal don't keep hold your finger on it that's why most of your purchase is not going through

Samsung Pay tip I learned while using my Note 5: the NFC radio is at the top of the phone, while the MST transmitter is in the back of the phone. I thought that both were on the back, but the NFC readers at Walgreens have blue LEDs that light up 1-4 for how well you have it lined up. Keeping that in mind helps the process go that much smoother.

Samsung Pay works on the Samsung Galaxy S6 active as well. Since the S6 active has no finger print scanner ALL transactions have to done by entering a "pin" number first, then you hover the phone above the "mag stripe reader" and it will work as advertised.

I know this was uploaded last year but if you're just watching, I can assure you it works much faster than this. You need to wait until the cashier sets the payment mode and then place your phone parallel to the swipe strip. That will eliminate bad reads and having to wave the phone around. I've been using it on my Note 8 all month & it has only failed on 1 terminal for me. MST capability makes it extremely convenient.

Courtney King Sadly we can't put our licence on our phones yes, but its being looked into here. Also our bus cards are NFC but there is sadly no app. Unless you can find a way to mimic the card with your phone.

The big difference with this is the magnetic waves that Samsung Pay uses. It's not NFC, which is why the McDonald's transaction didn't go through when he held it up to the Tap to Pay icon. But when he moved it to the swiper, the magnetic waves did a "virtual card swipe." This should work virtually anywhere, and I can't wait to try it out.

I've just loaded and used Samsung pay. It needs an audible and visual confirmation. I know you get the notification, but it needs something to let you know that you don't have to keep holding your phone on the terminal.

I have used it many times. Works well as long as the cashier "readies" the card reader to scan, just like a card otherwise it says "waiting for cashier " Also, you don't have to hold your finger on the fingerprint reader the entire time, just to unlock it at first, then I move back of phone by card reader

Here is a tip watch the how to use Samsung pay video. Activate it before you bring it to the terminal and you will likely not get the error you got at McDonald's. You also do not have to have your phone that close to the terminal that can also be part of the problem.I have been using it for about 4 months now and it has been great.

IMPORTANT, but obvious! For the traditional magnetic stripe reader on older (existing) terminals, how can they have the feature to read the encryption code when the mag.str readers were never designed for such an advancement and that they are the ones bearing the cause that raises security concerns? For the MST feature of Samsung Pay to operate on the mag.str reader, there needs to be the disclosure of the card holder's name, 16 digit account number, and expiration date. This also infers that Samsung Pay provides no privacy, and it does not encrypt the sensitive information of stored cards at all.

Samsung Pay doesn't work directly at a gas station pump though. Had to go inside the store instead. It works, just not everywhere for now but it's more versatile then Apple Pay and Android Pay. Hope those two can implement MST to their upcoming phones.

I have an S6 and had the same experience. it works mostly but there's always an exception. I have both Android Pay and Samsung Pay on my phone in cases like that. I hate using my debit card now. I read that mobile payments are more secure because of tokens. I'm glad things are moving to that.

if you run into the problem not go thru. ask the cashier to prompt their screen for a credit card payment and resubmit your Samsung payment again. I've used my card in places that say it won't. work. It's usually because the cashier doesn't know how to prompt their machine. It works in places that doesn't have waypoint. Just ask the cashier to place it on their machine card reader. works every time.

i find it odd when some one says "my bank is not in the list". you must be using some obscure bank. also the proper way to use it is you first activate the samsung pay then draw the phone near the mag. slide then follow the instruction on the payment system accordingly. you don't hold your phone next to the card reader the entire time.

Thanks for this video...been a lil wary about using Android Pay that I set up on my Note 4 but I see that its not the end of the world to try a pay option outside of just swiping my card old school. The only thing I noticed though is every time I've seen a demo of Samsung, Android or Apple pay the device never has a case or skin. I always have a case on my phone and wondered if it will work?

Next time at UPS, tell them to select credit on their register (if applicable), then after you scan your Fingerprint, take your finger off of it! Then the key is to hold the phone horizontally on the terminal. Follow the direction of the credit card reader!

I have yet to find a business, no matter how small or local, where Samsung pay didn't work. I have used it everywhere, FedEx included, with no issues whatsoever. I have come to rely heavily on Samsung pay since it was released.

should have held the phone in horizontal. the strip goes up and down the phone so I assume it's best to hold it at an angle as if the card is going to swipe.

Turn your phone in the same direction as the reader [slot] and hold it about a 1/2" above the card reader. Works every time.

Samsung Pay works with very few banks right now, and the company hasn't followed through on its promise from back in October to support any more banks.

When you said they announced it with the note and edge+ they actually did with the s6 and s6 edge. i was using it before they even announced the note on my s6 edge.

not many places have NFC in UK so Samsung pay when comes available will be worth try in lot of places here but not sure if terminals u push card into not swipe work with it of not
