@Stephen Boutte They're both great TVs. The Samsung has 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs, while the Sony only has 2. But the Sony has Chromecast built in, an ATSC 3.0 tuner for over the air 4K broadcasts, and Dolby Vision compatibility. It's hard to say which picture you're going to like the best because there is such a wide variety of opinions, but thankfully they both look really good. Hello guys, can you help me to chose my new TV. I hesitate between Samsung Q70C (2023) and Q80B both on 55 size. I most will use the TV for PS5 gaming, watching movies and some sports.
I got tue 55 inch model does anyone know whats best setting especially with the picture clarity settings i get abit of motion blur when i watch football
@Emanuele Tonetti If you're looking for a more budget friendly model, try the HWQ60B. If you want an even more immersive experience, the HWQ800B is amazing! oh god i can't decide between QE55Q80B and LG Oled C1. It will be used for my xbox/ps and Vod. I'm kinda scared of dead pixels in LG but the picture quality is way better tho. What would you choose? p. s. Great review!
@kamixio Thank you for the kind words! Those are both really nice TV choices. As for which one to choose, you'll get different answers from different people. The C1 has a better overall picture and all the same gaming features as the Q80B, but because it's OLED there is still some risk of burn-in. The Q80B doesn't have as good a picture, but still has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports, low input lag, and no risk of burn in. From the C1 units we sold from our store, we saw very few with pixel issues. We'd say go with the C1. Thankfully, either way you'll be getting a great gaming TV.
@yousseflakhal8025 Better picture processing on the Q80B as well as more HDMI 2.1 connections. If you're using the TV for gaming you'll want to go with the Q80B. However, the Q80B was replaced with the Q80C for 2023 so you may want to consider that as well. If you need any help finding the right one be sure to contact our TV experts here at Abt: www.abt.com/help/contact-us
Great video, just here's a question As many said the contrast is a bit underwhelming, on the black pictures aswell. but our room is pretty lit, do you think that will cover it even a little bit ?
@ultranoob9316 When we shot this video we had very bright studio lights shining at it and the picture came through very well, so you should be just fine even if the room is well lit.
@Martins E.I Picture quality is very close between them, but the Q80B has 4 HDMI 2.1 inputs and the Q80A only has 1. If you're a gamer, definitely go with the B. If you can find a great deal on the A and you're not a gamer, the A would be a fine choice. The A isn't available any longer in the US, but here's a link to our current pricing on the B: bit.ly/3WHF01p
@@abtelectronics Thanks for your reply, i appreciate. Please i would also like to ask this question, i am stuck in between choosing Qe55q60b and Qe5580A , Pls what is advise on which to go for? thanks
@Martins E.I If you have a next gen gaming system like the PS5 or X Box Series X or S, the Q80A would be the way to go. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and an HDMI 2.1 input that works with variable refresh rates and 4k/120Hz content. Plus, the Q80A also has a better picture in general.
@ax5017 The Q80B will be better for both. It has a 120Hz panel which will make sports look better and it has better HDR handling than the AU8000 which will help make HDR movies look more impressive.
@Nin 120Hz cannot be disabled, however if you're watching a 60Hz show it will look the same as it would on a 60Hz TV. If you notice any issues with motion, you can also go into the motion settings in the picture menu and customize that, or turn off the processing altogether.
How do you select your external antenna to get Standard TV channels? Cannot find anywhere to choose other than Samsung TV want to choose my standard antenna I have hooked up. Thank you for any help.
@Steve Castle You'll need to select the antenna option from Source menu. Start by pressing the Home button on the remote. Then press left on the remote until you get into the left hand column and go down to menu. Once you're on Menu, go back right to Connected Devices. Then press down and select TV from the Source list. It should be the first icon under Sources. Also, if you haven't already, you'll need to run the Auto Program function to find all the available over-the-air channels. I just smashed my QE55Q80RAT which I loved because the screen coating was VERY resistant to screen reflections,I think that was called an "Ultra Black Filter"....do these newer models have the same anti-reflective screen coating? Thanks in advance.
@mjh5437 The anti-reflection coating starts at the QN90B series TVs. If you need any assistance finding the right models please feel free to reach out to our experts for help: www.abt.com/help/contact-us
@charlieb893 It's definitely worth trying out. If you don't like it you can always turn the feature off. Here's how to set it up: 1. Sign your phone into your Google account and be sure you have the Google Assistant app installed 2. Go to Settings on your TV, select General, then select Voice 3. Choose Voice Assistant, then choose Google Assistant 4. Open the Google Assistant app on your phone and say "Set up my Assistant device" 5. From there, follow the remaining on-screen instructions (they vary based on model) If you purchased your TV from Abt and are still having any difficulty setting up the feature, please send your contact information to youtube@abt.com and we can have one of our technicians reach out to help by phone.
@Eris Acosta Personal choice is the Sony. To us it looked more natural, and we preferred the Google TV operating system. But honestly, these are both great TVs at good price points. Here are links so you can check out our current pricing on both: bit.ly/3R68Drn, bit.ly/3CwieD3
Idk but I bought a x85k recently (which I know is not the same model you mentioned) and exchanged it for q80b. All in all the samsung one is way less laggy. A bit more complex on the settings but really easy to catch on. Not sure if x85k is really that far off from the x90k though. I'd try both and see which one you like better. Try it. Go for it.....
@johannessergio7725 Definitely the Q80. The 60 is only 60Hz and doesn't have VRR or 4K/120 compatibility. The 80 has both. We still have some sizes in stock in the 80B (as of 4/24/23) Here's a link to our pricing: bit.ly/3L4CWwr Otherwise, the 80C is the replacement, and we have those too.
@dannys721 No, you shouldn't have any trouble with the TV vibrating from having the soundbar underneath it. They're designed to work closely to one another.
@robmitch14 They are almost identical. The Q80C has a slightly better picture, but if you don't have them right next to each other it's hard to even tell. That being said, the Q80C is also the newer model so we would recommend going with that one. Here's a link to our current pricing on the Q80C: www.abt.com/Samsung-65-Black-Q80C-QLED-4K-Smart-TV-2023-QN65Q80CAFXZA/p/190065.html Or you can call us at 800-860-3736 and speak with one of our TV experts. They can also tell you about any promotions we have running that can't be advertised online.
@upulgunasekera7888 The model we use in the video is made for the US market, and runs on 110v/60hz. You'll want to check your local supplier to find out which model would be right for your needs if you're not located in the US.
Thanks for the review I learned a good chunk. I just got this tv for a crazy good price but I had one little problem. I’ve noticed for like Netflix and Disney it seems to flip flop between 60 and 120hz. Do you know how to keep it at 120? I only notice this when I’m watching Netflix or Disney straight from the tv, rather then me using my ps5. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I saw a couple reviews on Amazon talking about the same thing but they don’t mention how they solved the problem only that “some fine tuning fixed the issue”
@webstermac5172 120Hz TVs should automatically adjust based on the FPS of the content you're playing. Also, if the TV you're using has ALLM (auto low latency mode) it should detect when your gaming system is turned on and switch to the Game Mode setting for faster refresh times, lower input lag, and variable refresh rates assuming you have them set up properly on your gaming system. In some cases you may need to make some adjustments to the motion settings. This all may vary based on the TV you're using though.
Not sure how old this is but most shows and movies only run in 60hz games run both 120 and 60. So it makes since to be honest on top of that films are shot in 24fps sports and tv shows usually in 60
@cambensy655 That is the only way it is available on the new models. Samsung does not provide a way to alter the look of the new version of Tizen OS. As of now, Sony, Samsung and LG all have a full screen OS homepage.
@joycewarble5678 We did not experience that with the one we set up for our video. It's possible there could be a very slight lean on some, but we didn't see anything. Be sure to check that the pedestal is installed properly if that is happening to yours.
The selling point for me was the Hisense and Sony I bought over the last 3 months. Seriously disappointed so back to shop and bought the Samsung 80 . Gave the other 2 away.
@oldrin1876 It is a very tiny toggle switch located next to the power button. Make sure you have a flash light and a magnifying glass handy to find it :-)
@tomcarter3586 They're both good TVs. Samsung would be better for gamers with multiple next gen consoles since it has 4 HDMI 2.1 ports that can do 4K/120 and VRR. We'd say the Sony has a slight edge in picture quality, but only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K/120 and VRR, and one of them is also eARC port, which makes it tricky hooking up 2 next gen consoles and a soundbar at the same time. If you're looking from purely a picture standpoint, go with the Sony. If you're a gamer, go with the Samsung. If you need any assistance finding the right one you can also contact our home theater experts here at Abt for help: www.abt.com/help/contact-us
If you are in the market for a tv buy a Samsung Q80T,Samsung has been downgrading every year since that model If you can’t buy a Q80T since it’s a 2020 model you can get the get the 2021 model Q80A as well
Q70b is not full aray and slim due to the 20w 2.0 speaker system. however in the 55 inch model 70b has a VA panel with less blooming and deeper blacks. I would go for 70b.
@@lukapaunov Eventually I bought the q80b and I am really happy with it. I can’t see any difference if I have only one TV in my room, but its 2.2.2 SOUND is just a.m.a.z.i.n.g, still can’t believe how they make this impressive ATMOS experience. :o :o :o That’s how to save money by skipping an extra soundbar.
@fahminagi5397 Yes, the Q80B has FreeSync Premium Pro. As long as you have the TV set to Game Mode it will be activated. You'll just need to make sure you have the feature turned on on the source as well.
Im looking at a 50inch. Looking at either the 2021 qn90a or the 2022 Q80B. Which one would you recommend for my watching. I dont game at all. Just for my living room. 90% of the time i watch whats on cable. Regular Tv shows, news etc. 10% of the time im watching shows and series and an occasional movie all on Netflix. So basically Cable Tv most of the time.
Qn90a for sure. MicroLED backlight / way more dimming zones. And it has a VA panel, unlike the Q80 which had an IPS panel, so you’ll have much better contrast and blacks that look close to OLED level blacks
@@Noticerofthings true VA has better contrast but ips have less glare issues therefore more viewing angles, and if you're a gamer ips generally has better response time at any given refresh rate. Generally ill tell people if they are going to be using it in a darker room like a bedroom then go VA, if it's going to be in a lighter room with many windows go with an ips
Would like to know do the 65inch half IPS or VA panel finding mixed reviews about the screen? Can someone verify this with some type of information/reference would really appreciate That.
great review !! The 50" is 120 Herz and have 60 Watt sound , not 60 Herz and 40 Watt as you said. I have it , and the black is fantastic ! ! In dark room i saw movies and i didn't see the black to be gray !!
what's the main difference between this in 65" and the q80A in 65" from last year? all i see is the hdmi 2.1 on this on all 4 and the q80a has only 1 hmdi with 2.1.
Tbh that's the main difference - for a lot of people it is a game changer to have all those ports though as they can take full advantage of the technological capabilities of HDMI 2.1 otherwise the image quality may be slightly improved and they may have more options when it comes to the features and settings.
@@gurs6714 damn i wish knew that before. i boihht the q80b for 849 USD. brand new. i think I could've gotten the q80a for a little bit cheaper. Guess it wont matter in 2023 when they make 2.2 hmdi.
@nicky8mon4 The Q82B isn't available in the US so we don't have one available to test side by side, but based on the specs it looks like the 82 has an improved audio system (4.2.2 vs 2.2.2). The other specs all look to be the same.
@blue boy If you're looking to run 4k/120Hz content you'll want to get an HDMI cable that's capable of transmitting at least 18gbps, like this one: bit.ly/3B39suf
I have an Onkyo cinema amp, with Bose Acoustimass cube speakers, and a slimline Yamaha active subwoofer, with a old-tech 2015 Samsung TV. Looking to simplify - so will this TV's built-in atmos sound (on the 55") be good enough to handle the sound duties allowing me to remove the home cinema amp and speakers? I'm concerned that the faux surround sound from this TV will fall short of what a proper home cinema 5.1 amp will deliver.
@kaosaxe391 You'll definitely benefit from an external sound system. The speakers built into these TVs are decent, but not better than a receiver with speakers.
@Ricky Cordero There was a protective film on the one we used for this video. We can't confirm that will be the case for every one of them, but there was for us. There should be a little extra material sticking out from one of the corners to help you determine whether there is or is not.
@@abtelectronics I was super mad at first because it did look like I bought a used tv when it was supposed to be new haha. It was. Very satisfying to take off the plastic for sure!!
@amitagrawal5164 The Q60B gives you a great picture for the price. It doesn't have all the gaming features of the Q80B, but if you're not a big gamer, or you're not using a next gen gaming system, you'll be very happy!
@TreeHouseBakery The Q80B is a great TV, but if you want the deepest blacks in a 65" model at a reasonable price check out the S95B series OLED: bit.ly/QN65S95B
Ugh. Trying to understand the stupid model numbers with Samsung. Is this the same as what Canadian retailers call a "QN85Q82BA"??? I was just looking at this model but have no clue which RU-vid reviews to check out as all the model names vary . Please help 👍
@EYECOMEINPEACE We don't carry the Q82B model in the US, but based on what we were able to find it looks like the 82 has upgraded dimming capabilities and a slightly upgraded audio system (4.2.2 channels on the 82 vs 2.2.2 on the 80). Otherwise, they look to be almost identical.
@nath Q80B would be the way to go if you're looking for the better picture quality. X80K is better from a cost perspective. Still a good picture, but HDR content isn't going to look as good as the Samsung. Q80B is also going to be better for gaming on with a next gen console like a PS5 or X Box Series X. Here's a link to our current prices on both: bit.ly/3R8zwdO, bit.ly/3AhgF9n Thanks for watching!
Ikr like I'm really interested in this tv. The only thing I'm frustrated about is the 55in is ips. And no reviewer will give serious insight on whether the differences are noticeable between the VA and IPS versions (aka 50in vs 55in).
US TV Model Panel Type Refresh Rate; VRR? HDMI 2.1 ? QN50Q80B VA 60 No No QN55Q80B ADS (IPS) 120 Yes Yes QN65Q80B ADS (IPS) 120 Yes Yes QN75Q80B ADS (IPS) 120 Yes Yes QN85Q80B VA 120 Yes Yes
Yeah i was like “is this stupid proof?? Bought a 65 inch for my room and couldn’t install the back cover to save my life. Left it alone seeing as it mounting it tomorrow with a new mount anyway. Beautiful tv though
I called Samsung about it. Sent pictures. They said it was physical damage so not covered. The lie. Its clearly a product defect. I wrote that comment about the stand cover on multiple forums. Everyone says the same thing.
@@doloresvancartier4249 Oh I didn't think it was a defect. just junk piece. to cover the ugly internal bits. everything else is so sturdy. It surprised me. I usually get models with legs. Just that one bit is junky.
This tv is trash in my opinion. So thick, almost like a good old DLP, Cheap plastic just like a $200 tv from Walmart. I just bough the 55inch to replace a 6 year old Q7. Turned out the old Q7 is a better tv, ultra slim with a one connect box. The only Samsung tv worth buying this year is the OLED S95C.
@Overseers Guardian The QN90B series 50 inch can do up to 144Hz, if you're looking for fast refresh rates. Here's a link if you want to check it out: bit.ly/3NkZ6L8 Thanks for watching!
