Great, to the point review. I bought the black 5 pro this is my first smart watch, so I'm not bothered about the rotating bezel. I'm in the UK, ang my network (EE) has added the watch to my phone with 10gb data, for £5 /month, 30 day contract.
The Fold Video is beautiful. I'm watching this on my new Tab S7+ in 1440p. I bought a Amazon Refurbished Gear S3 Frontier 2yrs ago & it still last 2 days.. I literally bought the 4 Classic 4 days ago (Samsung Refurbished) & I couldn't get a single day out of it, with everything Off! Then Samsung Holiday Deals hit & I traded it for the 5 Pro Titanium baby! Pro to me means battery. ($130) Samsung gave me more trade in for my 4 Classic than I just paid for it. But it's junk, even though it's a beautiful watch. I'm keeping my "still like new" Gear S3 Frontier for when I go Saltwater Fishing in the rain & extremely hot days here in SE Texas. I'm over 50 & I have heart disease, so the 5 Pro should work well for me. Thanks for the info. I cannot stand a watch that won't last a day. 🤟

Thanks for an informative video. I upgraded to the pro from Classic 4 and am happy. Disappointed with the nonavailabilty of the blood pressure monitor. Do you think they will ever enable that for the US market?
I don't know if it will ever see the light of day here in the states BUT, I'd still prefer an actual BP cuff to an algorithm in this case. As someone living with type2 diabetes, my BP measurements are very important to me.
Doesn't the 5 have a rotatable face so that left handers can wear it on their right wrist and have the buttons facing toward their hands? Or did the 4 classic have this feature as well? I am confused if only the 5 has this feature? I would like to get a 4 classic but need the rotatable face, as I am left handed.
I've upgraded each of the last two years from the Active 2 to 44mm Watch 4, and now the Pro. I'm 6'1 and hefty and actually like the larger size of the Pro. It's much heavier and feels and looks more like a "watch" to me now. I keep my phone on DND and I'm getting 3.5 days on average with an hour or workout tracking per day and sleep mode. The D-band is a little goofy because you can't use the included dual wireless charger with it. It's even a little awkward with the puck as the watch needs to be on its side. The upgrade was worth it for the size and battery. It also means more $$ for trade in next year if I upgrade again. I think my only real annoyance is not being able to default to Google wallet. I dropped Samsung Pay when they killed MST.

I ordered it i tried it and coming from a Galaxy watch 4 classic ,is the same with some different things ,but the crazy thing is that Samsung released the one UI 4.5 wear os 3 5 ,so there is no need to upgrade ,I'll wait until next year and see what happens ,my Galaxy watch 4 classic looks like new and I didn't see any difference between the 2 ,even in the battery department
Thanks for the video. This is the Pro watch not the Classic. Samsung never said this was the Classic watch. Therefore you can't say the rotating bezel is gone. Maybe a Classic watch will be introduced next year with the S series phones. Remember the end of the Note phone? And the beginning of the new S22 Ultra (Note)?
Correction: I installed the watch band as I see fit. The short piece belongs wherever I put it. I like it better with the long Velcro strap on the outside of my wrist instead of the inside.
I returned my watch 4 classic last year due to bad battery life. I went back to my original galaxy watch and Was holding out for the 5. My sensors stopped working on my old watch so needed an upgrade anyways, went to get the 5 and returned it today after 5 days of use. i can't stand the hideous design and no bezel, so i ended up exchanging it for the 4 classic and got my $400 refund. 5 pro is ($800Australian) 4 classic is ($400) Saved myself $400 for the exact same software and chipset PLUS a rotating bezel, it's worth sacrificing 1 extra day of battery for a much better looking watch and a rotating bezel.
Coming from the Tizen Gear Watch 3 I am not happy with the Google/Samsung Pay watch lock. On Tizen the lock was only when using Samsung Pay. To me it is an useless function as I don't use the strap tight and every time I want to see the time or use the watch I need to type a PIN. Gmail notification is also an issue as every new email I receive, the watch shows me the first unread email instead of the last one that just arrived. I am happy with battery life and the charging times.
Software features are good. 5 atms is inadequate and samsung will not stand behind the water resistance. I know. I swam with an earlier version that was "swimable" and ruined it. Water resistance is the biggest indicator of build quality. I have the 5 pro but will not buy another samsung until they are 100m wr. I'm not taking the 5 pro in the water. When they have the balls to guarantee wr... I'll invest in another one. The apple ultra is a serious piece of gear and costs more because of it. Id buy that in a heartbeat but I'm not apple for other reasons.
To put things in perspective: Let's compare the Galaxy watch 4 to the Galaxy watch 5 pro. The Galaxy watch 4 has the identical inner workings as the $450 pro version. Same CPU, ram and storage. 😁 Yea, watch 5 pro has a temperature sensor... but Let's be honest..that will never see the light of day just like the infamous blood pressure that Samaung touts LOL😁 Watch 5 pro battery life is better but watch 4 is more sleeker, slimmer. The pro 5 is bulkier and bigger. 😁 The back of the watch 5 pro is not titanium and the whole point to it is supposed to make you skin feel softer. 😁 And when you add one of those $20 plus watch cases it completely covers up the titanium so what's the point? Just to walk around and say "Hey I got titanium under my watch case and I'm proud" ? 😁 Oh and you argue that saphire glass is much more scratch resistant and stronger? Saphire glass is is much more susceptible to impacts due to its brittleness, and can shatter just dropping from a measly height of 3 feet. 😁 Sapphire screens are bad for outdoor viewing as it's more reflective than glass, which means it'll be difficult to see the screen in sunny or bright conditions and a saphire screen will reflect almost twice as much light as ordinary glass. 😁 Now you're educated. You're welcome.
and the GW4 is palgued with a software update bug that bricks it. so while you're sitting around with a bricked GW4, the rest of us are moving forward.
I agree. The Apple Watch Ultra looks soooo much better than this watch. I held off from buying this watch for this reason. I wasn't happy with the watch 4 at all. Bought the Watch 7, and meh...... but the Ultra looks good. I am in the wilderness a lot and the SOS feature looks cool.
This Pro watch is more like to what all pro phones are made if (also at Apple): bigger screen, bigger battery... Naybe Samsung will bring out an Xcover editon
It's true. Apple ULTA is making me want to switch. Samsung really got lazy and messed up real bad. I'd be willing to pay the extra money for a watch that does and is made for what the company says it does. Hopefully next year, they come out with something special if not, I think people will be switching to Apple
The Pro isn't worth it. Seems like a half-baked product that doesn't even know what niche it wants to be in. It's an ugly watch too. I'm switching to Apple next year if Samsung makes another half-baked piece of trash again.
