Just bought a used Samsung soundbar from a person and pretty sure I have the same issue with the remote. I tried several different batteries (provided by the seller… so it’s possible they were all dead) but chatting with Samsung, they told me to check if the remote was emitting a signal and it seems it is not. I don’t have access to solder something so I guess this isn’t exactly and easy fix :/
Back in the late 70s into the 90s Mostly every remote that I was asked to look at & fix there was a lot of broken tracks but more so the 'Ceramic Resonator' was shot.
I had to repair quite a few remotes a long time ago, the i.r emitter or yellow ceramic resonator solder was broken or the resonator just snapped off its legs flush. Fluids, yuck yuck :-( I didn't have a camera so i took a i.r receiver from an old Philips video recorder, it was in an aluminium case, i wired a bar graph to the i.r box, very handy bodging lol.
I hade a r c a remote the nummers and butten are worn out tri to fix it war a pan in the fingers presing hard down on it i can get it but decided to tose it and get a l g remote work good thank dave
*I have the same problem with a svhs video remote, I changed the crystal capacitor and cleaned all the zebra connector contacts but still could not get it to work, so led no light and lcd screen shows nothing ...any advice would be much appreciated*
