@@Gowardh its bad for both the rooms. In dark room, edge lite cheap display models such as U series have light bleeding and severe grey uniformity issues while in light room the TV has bad reflection handling and lower peak brightness which makes the image looks extremely dull.
@neo No this TV - only supports HDR in name but not wide colour gamut which necessary for wide range of colour for gaming in HDR in PS5. Moreover, this TV neither has 120 hz refresh panel nor hdmi 2.1 support. The only okay thing about this TV is low input lag and lower latancy in game mode but its such a shame that games in game mode looks completely washed out. So in short, this is not a perfect TV for next gen gaming.
My son just bought me this TV as an early Christmas present and this gave me some good information without being too technical. Just waiting on a negative COVID-19 test so he can come set it up for me.
Steve, I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to post this review. You break down the technical aspects, while keeping it simple and offering real-time personal experience and opinions. This video is the standard by which most video reviewers should follow on RU-vid. This seriously helped me in making a final decision on one of my recent Samsung purchases. You simply know what you’re talking about and you connect well with viewers. 👍
Bought this TV 2 weeks ago! Thank you for the helpful insight! I could play around with it all day or all week! This video made me feel better that I invested in the TU8000!
Bought the 65 inch version on amazon the other day, Had a old 4K LG for about 4 years. Primarily using this for my PlayStation 4 pro, Thank you for a actual in depth review!
I’d say the gaming experience is wonderful. I haven’t experienced anything bad so far, Easy to use UI and the game mode is a nice touch. I Would recommend this budget 4KTV
Your review made me pull the trigger on this very model and man oh man I love it. As far as I'm concerned I have the best TV in the world😁. Thank you for taking the time out in making this video
I saw from the another review vid that this model is basically a downgrade from the previous years' models, but this review gave me hope for the TV I already bought!!
@@mysticintraining7129 hes talking about last years RU8000 which was 120hz and little bit better contrast and such. Im looking to buy the RU for 200 hundred more
@@SPPACATR 4 months in and I have 0 complaints. I'm in college and when I'm not doing homework or exercising, I am watching TV or playing video games. The TV sees pretty heavy usage between my girlfriend and I. It's a great TV. Good investment.
Thank you so much Steve, received the Samsung 55” TU 8000 series yesterday and had already seen this video and am glad I did because it took me 4 hours to get the installation done with trying to get first getting a code to log in, reset my internet 3 times so the tv would recognize it, finally remembered watching this video last month an Yessss, got it working in 5 minutes. TNX a million, happy Samsung lover in #OneHappyIsland #Aruba 🇦🇼🇦🇼🇦🇼
You're Actually So Unrated, Like You're Actually Spitting Fax And Sound Knowledgeable And Cover All The Areas Consumers Want. Hope You Luck In The Future - Just Brought This TV And It Is Amazing. ❤
In the UK the TU7000 comes in black. Slight lag in the menus, other than that it's perfect. One thing people don't mention Is how fast it reads which input you have and auto names it, aswell as when youre on that input, if the device is off it will power it on for you, amazing. Also its the go to for gamers as It features sub 10 second input lag at around 9.2-9-4 MS. Picture mode is perfect out the box unlike alot of other brands. Picture quality is superb and 4K looks stunning, blacks are true black and in my model there was basically zero light bleed. HDR content is decent but at a peak brightness of 250 nits it's not ideal but still great. Like you said the TU8000 has some extra features but in the UK it's much more expensive so I would recommend the Tu7000.
@@SomeTw0Epic yes and the tv is great only thing I didn’t like was when you play games sometimes the game mode setting wouldn’t turn on so I set it to on always instead of automatic also if you’re area where you’re putting the tv is bright there is some glare but nothing unpleasant as for me I put it in my room and it’s perfect images are sharp games look very good on this tv So I’d definitely recommend 👍
I have the Samsung Tu7100... What's the difference between the Tu7000 and the Tu7100? Ones £150 more than the other? Both same. Size both 4k and both smart
Hi Steve. First time watching you and new subscriber now. Just purchased my Samsung Crystal UHD 8000. This TV is intimidating, until I just ran across your videos while searching for help. Man! You helped me out a lot and I love how knowledgeable you are and yet you explained things so simply. please, keep them coming!
I'd also recommend this model as a monitor for a PC/Mac too, I sit roughly 20" from mine and find it very crisp and clear, and the model here in Australia has 2 x 20W speakers, such a huge difference when listening to music or just watching some TV. A great review.
@Rob M I've been using iMacs with 5K screens for the last 10 years, and I knew this would be a little lower resolution, but to be perfectly honest, sure the text isn't as crisp as on 5K display, but my TV is a good 20" from me and it looks almost as good. As far as upscaling goes, it depends on what you're watching and if your games support 4K. Most important thing is when you connect a PC to it, make sure that you set the input to "Input Signal Plus" and set it as "PC" and you'll get 60hz at 4K. I've also found setting the display to "Dynamic" gives better colours than just leaving it on "normal". After all is said and done, I'm more than impressed with the TU8000, and with the 20w speakers, it makes a huge difference. I currently have the 43", I'm seriously considering going up to a 55" Samsung QLED in the next few months. It will be a super upgrade to your system. Hope this helps. Ask any other questions. Cheers, Dean - Make sure you get a HDMI 2.0 cable, most important thing.
@@dancerehab1092 I haven't used a Hisense or TCL ... but have used a 2020 LG UN7300, the Samsung wins hands down, it's a little easier to set up as a monitor ... on the LG, you have to go to the "home screen", and set your TV as a PC in the HDMI options, something that should be in the normal "settings", if you don't, you won't get 4.4.4. chroma and fonts will look really nasty as well as really bad lag on your mouse and keyboard.
@@deanmeixner perfect, extra point for the samsung, now I just need to find someone who has tried out the other models..I know for a fact that samsung is also way durable
i have poor cell service at my house so i couldn't use the app for setup.....once i got it going....i love it.....paid 747.oo for the 75" on a black Friday sale....a GREAT deal....will last me a long time...
My new Xbox Series X came with a Ultra HDMI cable which was a welcome surprise. Looking at getting the 85 inch version of this series so thanks for this great breakdown.
Thanks bro. i just bought this tv for my ps5!!! That game motion plus option is freaking awesome!!! The tv its a 60hz device but with the game motion plus it becomes 120hz!!!! I love it!
@@karnaantharam463 not sure if you bought the tv already, but for a living room 43 is way too small. I would definitely recommend at least 55 to 65 inch size for a main room, but 43 to 50 is ok for a bedroom.
This TV has all kinds of problems. Dead pixels as well as pixels freezing in a certain color like red and then not going away, backlight bleeding all around the edges, very slow menu which at times freezes. I bought this TV from best buy twice and both times the TV had a problem. The first time I bought it it had horrible backlight bleeding. So I exchanged it for another one and the second one I had pixels that were frozen red all over the bottom half of the screen. I would recommend saving up a few more dollars and instead getting the QLED Q60T, QN43Q60T. That's what I have now and it's great.
don’t let all these reviews make your brain scramble. i just got the 65” for my living room in my new house and i couldn’t be happier with it. if you’re on a budget and want to spend less than $1k, this is probably your best bet. it was super easy to set up and it’s very easy to navigate like all the previous models. for all the people who have complained about dark spots in the corners, i’m gonna go on a limb and say you may have not handled it with the best care when setting it up. you either grabbed the corners too hard or didn’t grip/hold it in the right spot. i have zero issues with dark spots or any issues what so ever with this tv. i’ve been buying samsung for the last 10 years and i’ve never had a problem with any of them. as usual, this was a great purchase!
no problem! this was a great review and very informative. i didn’t mean to throw any shade when i say don’t let all these different reviews make your brain scramble lol. it was just in general. there are so many different reviews out there lol. have a very happy holiday and thank you for the content!
Hey Steve! Just got this TV today. Upgraded from a 32 inch Samsung that I had for 6 years to this and I’m loving it so far! Your review was super helpful to me. Thank you so much. Happy New Year btw! 👍🏽
What a great review, (you need to give yourself a big pat on the back!), really stands out as a very friendly easy to follow and informative review which is spot on for the folks deliberating which model would be the best product to suit our requirements. Well done, you have another subscriber based on merit.
Only had my Samsung 55inch tv just over a year on the wall as well. Out of the blue it started developing a black shadow on the left side to which now 1/3 Of the tv is blackened out. Read up for a solution only to discover this is a very common problem with Samsung and some other Led tv's. Thinking 2x about buying from samsung again.
i got a TU7020 2 days ago and comapared it with my friends TU8000 mine looked a bit better also he literally bought his tv with me 2 days ago so not much difference.
@@AmanKhan-qe3mo I’m still running PS4 Pro on it, as we are out of PS5 in whole Europe, I have pre-ordered PS5 few months ago and should receive it in the first half of Feb. I love this TV it is really amazing and gaming is incredible and smooth, I really recommend it especially for it’s price and size - of course it is not the best telly out there but it does the job as you would expect, you won’t be disappointed. I’m also pretty curious if the difference between PS4 Pro and PS5 will be so huge on the telly. Hope this helps buddy. Stay safe!
Bought the 65" a week ago and I have 0 regrets at $800 including tax. If I could say anything about the whole package I would say the remote could be better and and controlling it in general could be better. That could just be me because when I learn new technologies they become extinct and I have to start over like a newbie...drives me nuts.
Just picked it up after my Vizio randomly stopped working and this TV is dope. Almost everything about it to me seems premium in terms of the quality. I just know the difference between the 43” that I have and the QLED TV that’s like over a grand.
Your videos are answering more and more of my questions, thank you! This is what I'm looking for, just missing the 4K up-scaling feature though. Any alternate Samsung options in around this price range that can do that?
Getting it for Christmas. Just saw that it works because wanted to see if it broke or something on the porch and I set it up and it looks great by default. I can't wait to see the 4k
Great review! Super easy to follow and very detailed, I was looking for a review just like this and you helped so much! A+++ Thank you, now I know what TV to purchase
This TV is almost perfect to put in my bedroom, except for that lack of 120 Hz, but i couldn't find any other option where i live in. i'll mostly play PC/Switch games and watch movies 😊
Thank you for being so thorough.😉 I got the TU8000 in a 75" on Black Friday. I made the mistake of going into Best Buy to pick it up and saw the 85" QLED on display. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but oh my goodness!😫
Just got this tv and i haven’t been keeping up with the whole 2.1 hdmi for gaming so I didn’t know I was worry I didn’t get a good tv need a upgrade from a 2013 tv so I’m happy and I’m a gamer so hope this tv works out for me on my Xbox series x
My parents got this model of tv earlier this year and its been great Its in our living room One i time i got my Ps4 Pro plugged in to it and played Mass Effect 2 via the Legendary Edition and the screen made that game feel like a movie
Thanks for the great review, however I wish to correct you on the statement of the 60Hz USA model vs. 50Hz Europe model. Even though mains power indeed does run at 50Hz, the link between that and TVs refresh rate is long gone. Modern LCD TVs run at 60Hz in Europe as well.
Hi Steve. Can you post a video on how to connect Bluetooth headphones to this tv. I just bought this tv after watching your review. I love the tv. But I want to connect my Bose Soundsport Wireless headphone to it.
That's a good question. I believe the 8000 is the same if I remember correctly. At leaste compared to the 7000. I'm not sure about the 6900 though. Didn't see that one under yelp
I just bought one yesterday. I wish my iPhone or any sort of equipment I have could do it justice. The 85” tu8000- that is. It’s beautiful. Was shooting for a QLED- wanted to stay in the Samsung family, but this won in terms of size and price. 👍
I am a guy who wants to buy a tv mostly for gaming is the tu8000 better than ru7100 in that aspect especially if it has game motion plus feature as you mentioned and if this feature is on is it gonna affect the imput lag?
I’ve just ordered the new Samsung tu8500, but got to wait 2weeks. looks a good tv in the shops and bright as it has duel leds and view angle looks good and don’t washed out like that tu7100 does.
Got this TV and the picture quality looked way crispier in store. Like the plants, grass, trees, water, mountains etc. looked like I was actually there in person! Does not look like that now that it's in my home. Hmm.
Bought this tv but got damaged on screen thin lines are coming on research many are facing same issues. Would suggest after some time of usage do post the feedback of the users also it will help other people to consider buying.
I bought a 75” lg nanocell 8500 series and I think I’m going to take it back. I do not like the edge lit display. I had an older 3D Samsung 8000 series. Is the picture on the new 8000 as good as the older ones?
I’m sitting here with a smart hub remote and i hate this interface so much i never wanted a Samsung again. So glad to see they use a better software. I bought a 400 dollar 1080 p tv when 4 k was out but had no knowledge of it until now. I’ll never make that mistake again lol
Thanks for sharing this. I got this device 2 days ago. I got the 65 inch. It was a big switch from LG. Unfortunately I am regretful because of the below. 1. The color in lg is richer and close more reality 2. The Samsung 8000 series support internet speed max 25 mgb! I tried to connect the Ethernet but also it remains the same. While my home internet speed is 100mgb The previous LG was smart 4K UHD. I changed bcz it was a bit old 2017 model and doesn’t support Airplay 2 I would be happy if you can share anything regarding the internet speed thing in Samsung Tv
