I am feeling more relax just listening how this guy speaks.. very calm and nice voice.. =) nothing to do with the TV, but yes..I feel more relax just by listening to his voice.
Extremely helpful review. I am picking up the TU7000 as I don't need all that other stuff. This TV will be for my bedroom anyways for streaming only. Keep up the good work!

Idk why you're happy that it's LED... LED is literally the worst type of TV you can get. It has the worst picture quality and it has the lowest peak brightness
What I dont get is here in the UK every spec sheet I read or website I visit states the Tu7000 comes with UHD dimming just like the 8000, so for me paying 100-200 more for a game plus setting (Which is basically the soap opera effect for games and introduced more lag anyway) and a picture frame wallpaper mode just isn't even close to making want to spend more. Went for the 65 inch TU7000 for 599.
Yeh I've been debating whether to get the tu7000 or the tu8500 The only main difference is the dual led an I dont think that's enough difference to pay twice the price
YES YESSS YESSS thank YOU SO MUCH I JUST SAVE SO MUCH MONEY I was about to spend 400 on the Tu 8000 but it’s the same thing as the 7000 thank you so much now I can buy the tu 7000 and a Xbox one X
Recently bought the model UA75AU7000KXXM and Q600A sound bar because of the Christmas Sale. Got a real bargain. So no complaining. Now I really enjoy my TV like a mini Cinema.
the TU7000 is black the same as the TU8000. It's the TU7100 that has a "titan frame finish". I asked Samsung what the difference between the 7000 and the 7100 is and that's what I was told (the frame colour and nothing else). The One Remote..which I already have on an older cheaper model isn't very useful because you still have to hold the button to use voice and digital assistants like Alexa make it redundant. As for the menu settings I'm pretty sure that's just a firmware upgrade as my 3 year old 55" Crystal does everything discussed. Here in the UK the 75 inch versions of the 7000 and 8000 retail at £799 and £1099 ..an Amazon Alexa Echo dot can be had for about £20. So is the 8000 worth £300 more? Hell no.
Thanks ! Bought the 7000 at Walmart for Black Friday, but Cyber Monday had the 8000 for the same price on Amazon!!! I will be returning the 7000 at Walmart! Thanks for the review, the 8000 is for sure the winner!
I've got the tu7000 and have the game motion plus setting like blur reduction and judder reduction I also have motion hardling setting in picture clarity mode when watching tv and I also have dynamic black equalizer in game mode as well
@@gabinidal6908 Hi. Sorry for the late reply, you need to turn the tv off and then press info settings mute then power in that order and then wait a few seconds for the tv to turn on the a secret menu will pop up go to mrt options and the over to game mode and press on it and turn the number from 1 to 2 and then turn the tv off and back on again and then the game motion plus settings should be in your external device manager
Think about it they're both 4k so, picture wise it should be the same. The au 8000 has a thinner back with more outputs, voice remote and the tu 7000 has a round back, less ports (modern), basic functional remote . And it's just those little preferences and aesthetics that increase the price.
I am currently deciding between the TU7000 and TU8000. I am not concerned about the extra HDMI ports, as I run everything through my AV receiver, nor do I game at all. I understand that the TU8000 has a slightly higher contrast ration than the 7000. My question - is the slight bump in contrast ration enough to warrant the extra $100 for the 8000? Is it a noticeable picture quality difference between the two? Great video!
mrk107 how’s the quality with streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu? Does the quality hold to “4K standard”. I keep getting mixed reviews on RU-vid that last years TU7000 may be better and wanted to know for sure soon because I as well want to buy one from Best Buy this weekend.
J Smooth No, I use to have a 43 inch tv in my room and the 55 inch tv size is far better, not to big and not to small. Just right! My viewing distance is 8 feet 6 inches.
I know rite, i’m looking to buy samsung tv. The 8 series has discount in my local store, but when i check the 7 series online way cheaper due to it was last year series. I’m afraid i might missed some new features in the latest series but the improvemnt is minor. Headache headace 😔
Just a heads up. The 7000 now has alot of the same features as the 8000 via a recent firmware update and I have the 2021 7000 which has some of those features right out of the box such as UHD dimming ect. So if you have the 2021 model of the TU7000 you wont have to upgrade to the 8000 because your pretty much getting the same tv.
Does anyone have their tu8000 on a wall? I'm curious how that third HDMI fits when its mounted... It looks like it faces into the wall and I don't think my cables would bend like that.
I just bought 50 inch today. I haven't tried my 4k movie's yet. But tv looked excellent. Why are so many people saying picture too dark? I watch tv and movies mainly in the dark anyway. What picture type do you watch movies? Is there anything i need to do make picture look better?
@XSAVIER busy Yeah the image is usually always better outside of game mode. Game mode takes away from image quality to make the performance better. Only bad thing is you might get a little ghosting and/or juddering outside game mode. I had to go qled for gaming especially if you want to take advantage of next gen consoles. But I also got the 7 series for my livingroom and it's still a nice tv for movies and stuff. It really just comes down to budget and how you plan to use it.
@@kcstereo i bought tu7172 few days ago, basically same shit as all other 7 series, CONS ? yes, Samsung had supposedly dropped support for AVI video file format since 6-series (so 7 and 8-series no longer support it, ridiculous), which is basically the standard format for movies, I'm currently looking for a replacement.
To be honest there is not much difference between the two except the one extra hdmi port and gaming modes, but it’s pretty the same so I would not spend an extra $200
Hi Cs Scott! The TU8000 will have better contrast, will be brighter and wider viewing angles, so the TU8000 would be a better pick for watching 4k movies. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach us at 800-860-3736 and one of our experts is happy to help! Thanks for watching!
For everyone shopping the 7-series Black Friday deals: 7000/7100/7110 are all the same, difference is the colour (though the Amazon 7110 is apparently also black according to some comments). 7020 however doesn't have Bluetooth, otherwise is the same.
@@jd9708 The 7020 isn't no. This I found out from two different assistants via the Samsung website. Same about 7000/7100 being the same, but different colours. The 7110 was a mystery to them, but going through their website, the 10 is meant to indicate a design feature, which in this case should indicate a white bezel, but the only place I've seen the 7110 is Amazon, and the comments suggest that it's still either black or grey.
@@chessu I wish it wasn't so confusing! I just want a decent 4k tv but after watching a lot of youtube videos I'm more lost than before. It seems like unless you're willing to spend $1,000's of dollars everything "budget" has different issues.
How is the 8000 vs 7000 in terms of darks/lights in a dark/bright room? Most of our viewing is at night, but if we want to watch a tennis match during the day, there can be some glare/light from a window next to the tv. And, another question: If I'm just connecting a soundbar, do I need more than two HDMI? I may connect an old-fashioned DVD player however ... I assume I'd need two than correct? Or three?
What's the difference between Tu8000 vs tu8100 other than grey vs black frame and 8100 is bit expensive than other. Does 8100 having 1) hdmi 2.1? 2) 120hz 3) Google Assistant and Alexa?
Since I cant fit a 65in, I'm primary shopping a 55in. But now..... Came across a TU7000 @ 58in for about 150$ less than a TU8000 @ 55in I dont Game, dont need multi-HDMI, and Dont have nor want "vocal command". I would benefit from a little "boost" in picture quality (from 7000 to 8000), since i'm mostly viewing Movies... but I'm wondering if the 10% more screen-area (I'm about 14ft from the screen) would not be "better" than the so slightly "better" image quality, and that for less $$ btw: dark room and sitting right in front of the tv...
Hi DPL900! The Samsung TU7000 will support up to a 60hz refresh rate. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach us at 800-860-3736 and one of our experts is happy to help. Thanks for watching!
Currently using a really old 50” Samsung plasma tv in my outside bar (in a sheltered area, and enclosed when not in use) but it’s pretty dim in the outdoor light and the screen is crazy reflective. Looking at LED tv hoping they’d be brighter and less reflective. I am not spending thousands on an “outdoor tv” as it is practically inside, but lots of daylight. Curious if these new Samsung’s may work for me.
Looking to buy 55´´ TV? Thinking about TU8000 or TU7000 or RU7400 series as my main concern is screen resolution for movies and soccer match. Price of RU serires r still higher so I am confused whether RU series r better quality than the new TU series? Can someone suggest me which one should I go? Thanks.
The brightness you get from an edge lit LCD depends on the size of the panel you are going for. I have the older version of these in 55" and it can burn your eyes out changing from a dark scene to bright light. But a 75", for example, has more space to cover and so it wont be quite as bright. Maximum brightness and clarity is found via the "dynamic" preset. On my current model I can't use that because it is far too bright. The only time maximum brightness is even a "thing" is if you are a lazy slob that watches a lot of tv during full daylight. And If you can place your tv where daylight is not shining directly on it then it is a complete non issue with Samsung tvs.
Hi there! I got a 7000 but I have 3 HDMI sources so I used to use a HDMI switch with my old FHD TV but now it doesn't work with the 4K TV, should I replace the HDMI switch or is it a HDMI cable issue?
I was hoping you guys could help me, there’s a 82 inch Samsung uhd 700d is that the same specs/ internals as the 7000 series tvs? What does the d stand for?
Now I am thinking whether I should get 43ru74xx or +50Euro more for 43Tu8500 for gaming and youtube. Had to return one RU74xx beause it was faulty one from less respectable seller, and again decision to make.
I have tu7172 and cant watch mkv video..i can but audio is problem..any solution? I had ue 6172 kk uhd and have no problem with any video or audio...please solution?
no, the 8000 has a 120hz panel and the 7000 has a 60hz native panel. The difference in picture is almost imperceivable though. They are both really good though and I was just looking at both side by side today in Costco. The decision for me will come down to if I really need the added features of the 8000 like alexa, that mac looking remote, or the gaming mode.
I just got the 55 inch TU8000 4 days ago and the picture looks BEAUTIFUL when playing Blu-ray and 4K content. And the viewing angles are real good too. Also watching the original Star Trek series on Netflix looks great too.
mrk107 would you say the picture quality for 4K holds well during streaming services like Netflix and Hulu? I keep getting mixed reviews that last years TU7000 seems to be better than this years.
I just don't like the remote on the 7000. I already have a curved samsung tv in the family room that is our main tv and it has the remote like the 8000 and that is a much better remote. The clunkier remote with the channel numbers and stuff is so 2010 when cable was a thing. You don't need that clunky of a remote in 2020. I'm debating if the 8000's remote is worth the extra $100 lol.
I'm having the same exact thought now. I have a remote for the fire stick that looks similar to the remote for the 8000. Although I don't want to pay $82 more for the 8000 lol.
Hi Silvex679, The black levels on these TV's are good, they will not be as deep as an OLED or a QLED but the blacks do not look grey. If you have any further questions feel free to call us at 800-860-3736 and one of our experts is happy to help! Thanks for watching!
Hi Weapon X215 AT! The PS% will work well on these TV's. They will be 60hz where the PS5 can play at 120hz. If you have questions regarding the TV's best for the new systems please feel free to call us at 800-860-3736 and one of our experts is happy to help. Thanks for watching!
Hi Zoltan! The main differences are that the TU8500 will have a feature where it can act as a smart hub, with Dynamic Crystal display and Dual LED technology. If you have questions our experts would be happy to help at 800-860-3736. Thanks for Watching!
I bought the tu8000 in November of 21 and all ready have a dark shade in the middle of tv.1 foot across in the middle all the way to the bottom to the top .does any body out there have the same issue?
