Still using a Note 9. Here's an update. 1. The Note 9 has more features in it than any phone on the market today i.e. expandable memory, S-Pen, headphone jack, and the earbud wire serves as an FM antenna for real FM radio. A nice feature and a great feature if cellular networks go down. 2. This commenter's Note 9 is still reasonably fast, there is no noticeable lag, and offers all-day battery life so long as certain energy-intensive apps are not used excessively. 3. The screen is still gorgeous. 4. Paid about $450.00 USD for it open box in 2020. Is there a bigger bargain? No. 5. It's a five-year-old phone that is a joy to use and if anything, could probably benefit from a new battery. 6. On the matter of iPhone vs. Android... iPhone is an American phenomenon & Americans are generally iSheep with no clue that there is life after iPhone, and arguably a better one, free of Apple's B.S. Kudos to the Europeans and Koreans for innovating and pushing tech further. Without Android we'd all be nothing but the monetized serfs of Apple's shareholders. Conclusion: -The tech industry is selling us fewer features for more money every year. -Apple started this trend. -Samsung and the other Android operators followed suit. -Shame on them! *But we're glad to see Samsung pushing the foldable tech, etc.

I am a proud Galaxy Note user myself and I am only too glad to see Samsung doing well financially. For me it's the S23 Ultra 5G which is the new Note.

As Samsung started merging the Note series with the S series (which they've should've done a decade ago) after the foldable phones came in, I honestly didn't mind it. As long as they have all the Note features and breathing new life in the S, I'm good.

Samsung made the wise decision of making the S the Note. Had they not put in the Spen that would have been a terrible decision. Now all they have to do is put the Spen inside the fold6.

C'mon, let's not pretend that the Note is dead. If it has a boxy design and an S-pen, it's a Note

In all actuality, they didn't end the Note series, they just changed the name. I think Samsung realized they had too many flagships so they combined 2 of them. Image all these names all in 1 year every year… S series, Note series, Z Fold series and Z Flip series.

No, S21 Ultra was the last Ultra model. S22u and S23 ARE Notes: the same design & spen, but with a new name... Note was not killed, it was rebranded as "Ultra"

I've been a long time note user since the note 2, and now the 23 ultra which is, let's face, it the note 23 ultra. I use the s pen alot, so I would not want a phone without it now, and samsung have continued to improve it every year. One of the most useful things to come to a smartphone, in my opinion.

I'll easily switch to the zfold from regular form factor if they made it thinner.

They just blend note series with s series .thats not bad at all . Foldable phones are the future .you have to accept it

It's only common sense that foldable phones will keep increasing in popularity and sales over time as the durability keeps improving along with the hardware/software features.

It is great to see the Galaxy Z series doing well. I have the Z Fold4 and Z Flip5 and they are great for different situations. However, Samsung really needs to step it up with the Z Fold6 and listen to their customers' feedback.

i'm glad they chose to go with the Note form factor as well for their highest flagship, it's just such a beautiful design compared to regular phones although i really miss hearing "Galax Note" so bad but they made a good decision at least

I actyally prefer the synchronous release of all their candybar flagships. My problem with the ultra is it became more of a pricier real flagship with an spen while the non ultra phones became second rate with no where near the pricing adjustment to match. If the ultra was instead like the typical note of balls to the wall everything, ie 6.9-7 inch screens, 5500mah+ battery, 65w charging,144hz display,16gb ram+512gb storage base,titanium frame (good shout there samsung) while the plus would be like a smaller version of the s23 ultra now with no spen or boxy display and prpbably the same battery size seeing its smaller thatd be good.

Galaxy Note was huge innovation in smartphones it's gone but not forgotten nor hated. It's still being loved, even I still think the Galaxy Note 9 was best Samsung phone. Literally it had headphone jack, no notch or hole, Iris scanner which was world first and heart rate monitor. Really these innovative features made them best. I hope Samsung will bring Iris scanner back and even IR face unlock. It'll be innovation for Android.

I was just thinking about this very topic yesterday. Switching the NOTE launch with the S-series phones was solely to give the Z-series phone room to properly grow.

As long as the Note ultra is the same as the S ultra, I consider myself satisfied. Foldables still have a long way to go: eliminate the crease entirely and bring their camera hardware on par with the S ultra. This will take time. PS: I still love my S23 ultra and I consider it the pinnacle of Samsung in smartphones so far! PS: Watching a 16:9 video on the S ultra instead of on the foldable is still the best: the screen real estate is still much bigger and without a crease. Not to mention the S ultra supremacy in terms of the camera module 😉

Since S22 Ultra release i notice earlier that it's more like Note serie than S Ultra but don't want to comment back then cuz i might got call out by other so i didn't say anything but now seems like i can 😅 Also at that time i had thought that Z Flip and Z Fold are the new "Note" but the tech is not there yet so they made new branch(Z series) and when the tech is ready (if the Note series gonna return) in future we might see Samsung Note(Fold) and Note Flip/Mini (Z Fold and Z Flip) Idk if this just me or someone thought the same as well

The Note 20 non-Ultra and the S20 Ultra feature disparity was where the S20 Ultra had better cameras and cost MORE than the Note 20 Ultra, and then they launched a regular Note 20 that had rounded corners, 60hz, no SD card slot, on a _thousand_ dollar price tag. Imagine that. And that's including the Exynos issue where Exynos got nothing despite the Snapdragon version getting a plus version. So far, the Note 22 Ultra became the S22 Ultra, with the S22 Ultra with rounded corners fading away. Note phones were only there for Q3/4 Galaxy sales as the S-series phones were Q1. Then they threw in the Snapdragon Plus SoC but the Exynos Note 20 got no CPU improvements at all.

The note is not coming back because the S series became the new note line. The square designs and bigger format are part of why they got merged, since the S series were at some point the consumer party phone, while Note was a more productivity oriented. I think it's cool that Samsung has finally settled a new type of phone and they are doing great.

I still have the Last Note20 Ultra is MicroSD. I’m not sure if I should trade it in or Keep it after upgrading 🤷🏾‍♂️

If you ask me, The S line should stay the S line Ultra (S line Ultra) and and change the the name from the Fold to the Note being the best. 1. Keep the S line the way it is (lower end to top end of the S line) 2. Note line (should be renamed from Fold to Note, because calling it Fold sounds cheap) 3. Flip line. The naming strategy is messed up, people already know what a Flip and Fold is, why use it in a brand name. Anything with a stylus should stay in the Note lineup, and not work on the S line and so forth.

The unfolded screen size is too small. The outside/folded screen aspect ratio STINKS and is too small. The cameras are far inferior to the flagship candy-bar cameras. The crease stinks. If they can fix all of these issues, offering a foldable with an outside/folded screen that is the same size as the S24 Ultra's screen, and have cameras as good as the S24 Ultra, I'd be willing to pay $600 more than the cost of an S24 Ultra. Until then, I am not interested, at all.

The ultra become the note but they are about to kill the ultra with the flat display, however the snapdragon processor makes it more enticing then the s24+ which is an actual flagship phone with the best screen and the some of the best cameras shame it doesn't come with the best processor.

Did they also axe the note name because a Chinese brand now has a lineup of phones called Note and Samsung did an agreement with Chinese company?

They should leave the iconic name NOTE and have S regular, S plus and NOTE released in January/February. That should make a room for foldable/flip crap that maybe is the future but still looks awful with all that crease and cumbersome width. (Fold in particular). For us, note lovers, they really made a stupid thing, and they could easily make everyone happy.

Samsung getting profits in Folds but actually the phone is disaster for the consumers(not only me in my known people All 3 people are facing hinge issue. unfolder 80% after an year of use) i had the hinge issue in fold 2 but i sold them and bought fold3 now having the same issue and Samsung asked 70k INR to repair this which is too much. now m leaving fold series and come back to S23 Ultra(which gives me the feeling of all time fav. Note series).

They didn't kill the note. They just renamed it The ultra as part of the s series... And that made it the best selling of the s series... People are not very bright.

It's no big deal but I still think the Galaxy S Ultra should have been called the Galaxy S Note . As long as the phone has a boxy form factor, large screen and in-dwelling S Pen Samsung can call it whatever they like. I've used my Note 10 Plus since November 2019 and it's still looking and working great. It's time to upgrade so I'll finally get the S23 Ultra this November. My birthday treat. I have no interest in foldable phones. The only pro is a larger screen and there are several cons.

Hey sal fold series can never ever take Over the ultra series , i recently purchased the z fold 5 by trading in my s22 ultra , god i went into depression after using the fold 5 the cover screen is so narrow to use and if i open the inner screen its so big to use , camera's were like a mid range phone worst picture quality, battery life was ok ok , fold 5 was a downgrade for me in every sense so i sold it after 20 days of use , finally felt some relief with my new s23 ultra its a beast serious beast , no folds for me until they are close to ultra models

I mean it's all in a name. Since 22 Ultra, it's a Note, which Ultra name. They should just name it Note to make people happy. Secondly, foldable won't be a long term win. Once the average person buys them, and realizes how fragile they are, they won't stay on top. I suspect within 5 years you'll see the fkladbales peak, and begin to dip down. Until it scratches at a level 6 with deeper grooves at a level 7, it won't stay big.

I'm not sure what to make about Samsung's claims. Here in London I haven't really seen too many people with any of the foldables but I've seen far more people with either the S22 Ultra or S23 Ultra and I'm always keeping an eye on that. I've been to Spain and Greece recently and the same. Maybe it's different in South Korea but I just think it's a marketing stunt to give that sensation that foldables have become more popular.

Funny in all shots of the use of the S-pen, they are all just doodling useless things. It’s amazing that they never developed further the use of the S pen after so many years. If you watch videos of what people use the Apple Pencil for, they are all super high productivity examples. People are actually using Apple Pencil to assist them to in their work (eg real design and architecture work), not just doodling useless pictures or making brainless grocery shopping list. People are so proud of the s pen but I don’t know they are proud about lol.

Typing this message from a samsung galaxy note 10 + I will not upgrade until this phone dies completely for any reason.

In fact, Samsung has not understood anything, it's all well and good to sell more Flip / Fold (that cost between €1200 and €1800 being technologically revolutionary and above iPhones) than Note/S Ultra, but when the combination of all your high-end does not even make 1/4 of the sales of the iPhone 14 Pro Max (which cost between €1300 and €1800), in my opinion, it is not a victory, it is rather necessary to question yourself.

You can call a woman a birthing person.....but its still a woman.... you can call the note the s23 ultra.... but its still the note, with a pen inside.... so I am waiting for the note 24 , and will replace my note 22....
