Thank you..Thank you.. After 7+ years with my Samsung without any problems, the spin cycle was removing less and less water to the point that water was pooling at the bottom of the drum and /or the clothes had to be rung by hand- placed on the outdoor clothes line (Ca).Spent the weekend researching the big box store websites researching new washers and becoming depressed with the 2-3-4 star reviews. Being retired, the thought was planning ahead to save some funds for a new washer and or being resigned to go all out and buy a Speed Queen which would outlive me seeing that I’m 77 years old.Thought about contacting a repair man but decided to do your “ RU-vid”. Opened up the lower door corner panel/had a towel-sponge-bucket ready and drained the excess water. Then I removed the filter and after 7+ years, it looked like a drain filter that was used in a dog grooming / bath salon. So much gunk/fibers/paper fragments/even a penny was removed because it as 110% clogged. Cleaned/flushed/washed the filter-reinserted it and ran a “ quick wash” cycle. Worked like a new machine/spun all the water from the clothes and your video saved me $1200 that I would have used to buy a new washer. Or the repair person would have charged me hundreds of dollars- just to clean out the water pump filter. From a 77 year old veteran- Thank you again.
My BF and I were able to get our washer fixed with less than $25 and 1.5 hours of time with this video! Saved us a ton of money and headaches. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I learn so much more from your videos than I do from my lead technician, and our "Tech support person" at my place of employment. As an appliance repair tech you make me want to learn more about actual diagnostics rather than being a parts replacer. Thank you.
@@bensappliancesandjunk Oh don't worry I also love you sense of humor and lighthearted videos too. The last one I was laughing out loud with the Limp Bizkit and Kardashian one liners.
This happened to me for over a year. Kept getting suds alarm. Checked the front basket which was empty so I kept telling my wife to use less detergent 😅. Similar to your recommendation, I went underneath and disconnected the rubber hose/funnel right before it goes to the debris basket and pulled out a coin and two toddler socks which essentially blocked all drain flow. I've had to do the same for mostly socks and kids trinkets. Bad design by Samsung to not make the debris basket larger in diameter. As a consequence of the blockage, I had a moldy boot seal which I replaced last week. Just be careful if you're taking the front panel off (the one with touch buttons) so you don't break the tabs. This video was too late for me but overall a good rundown of what I previously did!
THANKS MY GUY! JUST BROUGHT MY SAMSUNG WASHER / DRYER ABOUT A YEAR AGO.. WATER WASN'T DRAINING.. HAD THE "SC" ERROR ON MINE.. DRAINED THE HOSE AND THEN CLEANED THE FILTER... BRAND NEW AGAIN!!!! YOUR THE BEST!
This was so helpful! After cleaning the washer front filter, I realized the drain hose was waaaayyyyy too long. I trimmed it to a more reasonable length and washer is working perfect again ❤🙌🏾
Was able to order a $20 replacement pump and get this fixed in less that 2 hours. Many thanks for this video, I was quoted $120 just for a service call and another $250 for a pump replacement. For anyone else’s reference my pump was rotating freely with only or two bumps like he described, if it’s working properly each turn of the prop should kick over the magnet.
Thank you very much!! This video gave me the confidence to replace the pump motor myself. Rubber band was jammed in the prop. Replaced and now machine running smoothly.
Thanks for this video, I have owned a similar machine for a long time and never really got around to using that hose. Not sure how I missed it so badly for so long, but I'll definitely be cleaning out the drain filter more often
Really good information. Was right in the middle of it ( kinda in a bind) and boom! Stupid advertisement. Get rid of ads and you’ve got yourself a great page. Thanks
You just probably saved me a massive unnecessary expense. Thank you so much. My wife bought some of these silicone discs that are suppose to catch pet hair in the wall and one got sucked into the drain. It came out when I pulled the filter🤢
Thank you so much. I followed your steps to open the bottom of the washer. The filter was so clogged up, you couldn't imagine. It works now. Again thank you. I've turned into a Ms. Fix it 😂
Thank you as a small ball of hair had somehow gotten passed the filter and was jamming the spinner on the drain pump motor. I was also able to get the metal ring on by having a needle nose on one end of the spring (there was an eye), worked on what I could by hand, and then used a flat-head screwdriver and got it on with very little issue (I couldn't find my zip ties). Thank you again!
Just had the washing machine in bits and turns out there was a blockage at the pump end of the waste pipe. Checked the pump was all good thanks to your vid, helped a lot! Thanks
Thanks for this Video. Helped me figure out what was needed for the repair. The part I needed was the drain pump DC31-00178A or PX3516-01. Local shop had the part. One suggested video would be troubleshooting and parts testing. Not sure if you have one if so may want to link it to this video.
Lately, we've had a number of failures with newer appliances and replaced three of these Chinese manufactured pump motors. I replaced with larger motors, but these are problems I never had with older, U.S. domestic manufactured appliances. I see huge problems looming on the horizon for appliance owners in the U.S. Replacement parts will be hard to come by or unavailable. I experienced the sourcing problem most recently with sourcing a hinge for a 3 year old Samsung refrigerator. It ended up being a JB Weld repair.
A little confused in this video. You said that if the motor has resistance and segments 3 or 4 times it’s ok. But you replaced the motor anyway. I think that’s my problem too but no error codes on mine.
My question is not Samsung related but lg related instead. I have a one month old WM4000HBA front loader. I’ve noticed suds coming out the back of the washer from the air vent. It happened 3 times on a brand new machine. I’ve done research and it said I’m using to much detergent. I only put in 1 maybe 2 tablespoons. If I use pods it works fine. Contacted lg customer service and they told me I had residual soap built up in the machine, of which I ran the tub clean cycle and it still did it twice. They said to run the tub clean cycle 3 times back to back with an afresh tablet each time. Did that today and hope it works. My question is have you ever heard of this situation of leaking suds, and are they telling me the correct thing to do or could something else be wrong? Thanks!
Great video Ben for us DYI’ers. I have many Samsung devices in my home, Fridge, Oven/Microwave combo & also Samsung washer & dryer. Is there a way I can get wiring diagrams or schematics to help me troubleshoot common problems? Thanks!
Thank you for your help.. I'd followed second option drained the water from the hose and removed the filter (was nasty full of lent pennies small nails paper clippers 📎 and hair clippers😬) works perfectly.
What do you call the black hose that was attached to the front-top of the pump? I need to replace one of these, and I cant find the part name or part number anywhere.
Hi Ben, my Samsung washing machine is able to wash and spin. When it comes to the rinsing cycle, I can hear the motor humming, but it just does not drain. I managed to carry out a manual draining by activating the draining discharge valve. Can it be caused by a faulty water level pressure sensor. Thank you.
Haught DAYUMM @Ben!!! Willyuh merry ME?!?! I DONE DID IT!!! Fixed my own samsung without calling the plumber out here in California!!! Y'all don't understand the blessings in this! I love Ben! I will FIGHT YOU for Ben!!! 🎉❤😂😂😂
Hello I have a front load washing machine I have drained it and everything still getting SC code but when I look down filter hole I can see what appears to be a lose O ring thoughts??
My kenmore front end loader needed that big rubber gasket replaced, had a piece missing right where the water lands , works fine but now you sorta have to slam the door shut when you close it.
Thank you. I've swapped my circ pump and drain pump over and it still won't drain. When I've selected drain function both impellers run. Do you think they're just too worn out to function fully? Thank you
Hi Ben, we bought a matching Samsung range convection oven and fridge. The fridge never lasted a year. It fried itself and took us another year to get a refund. The black paint on our range started peeling off the front after a year. People stay away from expensive Samsung junk.
I have tested the drain pumps directly using direct power from power socket and it work, but when auto mode it won't drain. The filter and pipung has been clean and found no clogged. Still can't find the root cause
I have disassembled the entire drainsystem and cleaned it out. If running my machine emty it will not show any alarm, but with a load the 5d alarm will show. Any tips?
Question, Maytag model mvwb766fw1 washer. 5yr warranty. Something with the high speed spin cycle is not working correctly (clunking noises). My question is ….. is this part of Drive Motor? Because it is a charge to me if it is some other part. The customer service at Maytag wanted to sell an extended service plan if the service call was not under their service plan. I’m pretty much lost as this point. Thanks Ben
HI--i live in Ontario, Canada. In your recent posting, you recommended the GE JB 655SK glass top stove..I cannot find that model on line. Do you have an alternative model number that can be purchased in Canada
Stupid question but why can't you just tip it on the side or upside down to remove the pump? I know sometimes you don't always have the room but. . . . Lay down some and carefully tip it over. Are they really that fragile?
This pump can be found in Whirlpool front loaders. I could only get to it by removing the back and what seemed like thirty screws. Laying on my belly I could remove it. If there was a workaround with the Whirlpool, I missed it.
Do you know a way to force the drain pump on to see if it is functioning while it is in the housing. I suspect that the circulator is not operating properly. The best I could come up with right now is long pressing spin in whatever cycle one uses. I was able to see the pump impeller come on, but I couldn't see the circulator impeller turn on before water started rushing out. The pump impeller didn't sound too smooth either, but that may just be a symptom of running dry.
i actually watched this video and i’m going to have to clean the filter out. we have a dog with long hair. i wash with scent free detergent and have been adding vinegar lately to an extra rinse cycle in hopes it was just the clothes. but after watching this video, it’s probably the filter. thank you for this trick and thank you for the quick reply. thank you thank you thank you
"LIKE" button has been torqued to the manufacturer's recommended specification. "CLICK". God forbid you should be running around with a loose "LIKE" button !
Yes, absolutely. I was in the process of making that video last year, but ended up getting side-tracked. Will 100% re-do it not that I have a way better studio area to do it
I got a Samsung WF337 front loading. Replaced pump. Can't find a filter. It will drain in spin cycle but in normal wash or quick as a test. It will fill but when draining all the water drains but it keep trying to drain then show a no drain error. Computer sensor?
Unfortanately my washer and dryer are stacked and they are in a small bathroom. I am unable to remove the front without removing the drier. Any other options?
Unfortunately that's a huge issue with stacking units in tight spaces. If you can get behind it, you can take off the screws in rear, then tilt dryer slightly up and move panel rearward giving you 3-4" to work with to remove the front panels for access
My machine was having the error, we drained, disconnected it for an hour so id get back my clothes, and it worked again Now today same problem. It drains well in the drain emergency pipe. What could be the issue
my Samsung washing machine won't drain, but it didn't give me any error code, I can hear the motor of the drain pump working but the water won't get down, I tried to empty it using the emergency tube but it didn't work, any idea what happened to her?
@@bensappliancesandjunk Fixed it. It had been pushed back so far it had kinked. So all good on that score. But I've found that the hole in the seal that is just inside the door at the bottom has blocked and I don't know how to get that clear.
Why did you not just tip the washer on the side to do the pump???? There is enough access through the bottom, you don't need to take the whole front apart
I've got a similar problem. When my washer finishes a wash cycle and the water begins to drain, the discharge pipe fills all the way up to the top and sits there until the washer is about to go in to the spin cycle and then the water immediately drains out so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the drain. This is a problem because the water gets all the way to the top of the drain pipe and overflows so that enough water to make a mess spills out on to the floor. I did a temporary workaround by putting in a pvc drain basin so that the excess water spills out in to it but I don't know what to do beyond that.
My washer is less than a year old and I get the SC code. I took it apart and checked all these things and it still throws the code every couple of loads. Samsung's have too many problems, never again.
at 10:08 you say you will be able to send me a wiring schematic for a low monthly fee ??? when will you have a membership on line ??? can we just pay ahead for one year??? and will it be a discount for one year vs one month at a time??? and how much for 2 years ???
I'm working on that, will have a video on it soon. Trying to add a lot more features before its out. I think it charges monthly regardless via YT but we will see if we can add a yearly option.
