My name is Ben. I run a used appliance store in Central Ohio. When I started learning about appliances, I had no mentors to help me because everyone in the area basically had retired. I learned everything I could from RU-vid, and found out a few things were missing, so I decided to start a channel to share some things I've learn to help others fix their appliances!
I just replaced the control board (from the site u recommend) but the clock now goes faster than it should & the interior light doesn’t work now. Any idea why?
Very informative! You dint cover warranty info ℹ️ i think, please add in future reviews if possible. Also, did you buy the machine or is this a review unit?
@@michaelwallen9472 I have a video coming out on that. 99% chance the inverter motor is bad. Go to test mode 14, and see if it spins to full throttle or not. If the inverter is bad, it'll run for 3-5 seconds and then stop. That would confirm inverter is shot. bens-appliances.com/products/wh22x35837-ge-washing-machine-inverter-board
I have had an LG GML8031ST for 3 years I had never connected the water supply before last week The fridge produces water but no ice When I press the test button for 3 seconds I hear a beep but the cycle refuses to start Water doesn't reach the ice maker either I tested the resistance of the solenoid valve, which has only one way, and everything seems to be in order. The error "IT E" appears indicating an error in the ice maker but I already know that Could you please provide me with other ideas for repairing the ice maker?
Thank you i found my problem in the first minutes of the video... The timer knob is cracked and was stuck of off -_- thx a lot buddy now I don't have to call a repair guy
Thank You. You just saved me a trip to buy a “special tool” I didn’t need but once or twice in my lifetime!!! After trying with the help of my son for 20 minutes, I watched your video and I did it myself in less than 5 minutes.
Thank you so much for making these videos Bens Appliances. I have that same front loader GE washer and the pump failed after 2 years. I went through all your trouble shooting videos and ended up buying both a new pump and new control board. I was able to fix it myself and for under $200 in parts from your store. Thank you so much!
Man thank you. My dryer wasn’t broken, but the breaker in electric box was unseated a bit (due to turning off power and the box cover missing a screw and breaker moved under the cover a bit). The dryer would turn on and run with no heat. Seated the breaker and all is good again.
I am getting a LOT of people asking about the control board and other issues, so here's the just-released follow-up video on further diagnosis: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LJO8Ey6LY_M.html
I’ve got a one month old $2500 fridge. The temps won’t get below 42f. Currently awaiting a new fridge as replacement. I have another Samsung fridge without issues for the past 4yrs. I guess is a roll of the dice with these fridges.
Hi Ben, thanks for your video, very informative and helpful. Can I ask you a question? My 8-year old Samsung washer has been doing this lately, failing to finish the spin cycle and returning to the previous cycle, but with no codes. When it runs empty, there is no problem completing all spin cycles. Changed shocks recently, but it ran normally only for a couple of months. Checked 8 things except the 9th one: PCB in the control board. If it is PCB, is it a DIY friendly task? Thank you!
Just watched the video and ordered the parts. I'm hoping it'll get to Columbus quickly (Shipping said Thursday or Friday )as my dryer is torn apart currently
I think a huge issue that is overlooked is the fact that it uses a refrigerant style compressor which in 2025 the US has banned manufacturing of hcfc refrigerant style machines and existing machines must be sold by end of 2026. That's not to say you won't be able to get refrigerant for maybe the next 5 years but you will pay an astronomical amount if your system is leaking. Basically this style washer dryer design is obsolete within a year that is unless both GE and LG swap over to the mildly flammable refrigerant if they haven't already. That's not including the fact if refrigerant leaks out over time and there are a lot more moving parts in the machine as opposed to a standard coil dryer. I think it's a great concept, but very expensive if needed to be serviced. Don't get me wrong I love what this washer dryer is looking to achieve however I think the future looks very grim for it based on the ruling in 2020 on hcfcs. If you're looking to get a washer dryer like this style I would wait perhaps another 5 years before pulling the trigger on one.
Purchased this washer/dryer less than 6 months ago.. washer would not leave sensing mode, error said clothes detected during afresh cleaning cycle. And washer screen stuck on clean washer reminder.. unplugged, turned on off turned to different cycles. Enter sending then said finished, turned off. With the help of this video…!!! I did a factory reset.. and. WALA! Selected language and away we go! Seems our stinky xfinity internet has been wonky all day causing problems w washer computer, and controlling via app. T goodness for this video just saved us from calling Maytag and a service call to have them do a factory reset!
My fiancé and I are considering getting this machine because we like that it’s ventless, no special plug, and takes up less room. We will be able to put it anywhere in our bathroom pretty much. What laundry soap/ laundry softener should we use with this machine? I normally use arm and hammer clean and clear soap and a cap full of white vinegar for softener…would that be ok with this machine? Thanks!
