Honestly these two are a bit terrible. No activation ~ issen to punish Jubei when he did his uppercut combo (when it would win) Jubei kept punishing really unsafe Ukyo moves like whiffed throw with run-up throw instead of just a raw button (20% punish vs 45%-50%). Jubei wasn't option selecting his 5B hits at neutral. Ukyo wasn't using max range 2C, which is his very best poke and is safe when spaced. Just because they're Japanese doesn't mean they're automatically better :^/
Talk about a world of difference! I have been solely watching tournament play here in the States, REALLY wanting to watch the play of Japanese and Korean players in the hopes that I could see the capabilities of this game... WOW... This makes ALL the American players and matches I've seen thus far look like child's play in comparison
I won't say american players matches looked like a childplay. It's too early since the game still new. Though i will say they're matches are super boring making the game looked boring as well.
Diana Damanita Well given the amount of time and the sheer amount of professional play, I was noting the level of tech ...up until this match, something as simple as ukyo reflecting projectiles wasn't even a thing in the States yet... I've seen A LOT of pros' play here in the states and hadn't even seen the 9 hit combo jubei can pull off after a throw... Little subtle things like that which I would've expected was so simple yet haven't seen here... I'm not degrading the players themselves, it was just kinda crazy to see how far the gap is after watching this... I'm sure that due to how popular this game is, all sides eventually start evening out but atm, the play overseas clearly has set itself apart...I come from a Tekken background and may pick this game up so I'm interested in seeing great play from anywhere
@@mmsizzlak Let alone knowing about TG reflecting projectiles, lot of US players that i see in small tournament didn't even know how to punish properly. When punishing Heavy DP, US player always using throw to punish it and connect it to combo... really what's the problem using heavy slash for punishing the missed DP ? I'm too lazy to find out. They also doing a lot mistake at how to use WFT, using move that scream 'PUNISH ME' several times (and surprised they still save from punish), never use dodge or Unarmed Weapon Flipping (if i'm not wrong), playing stupidly aggresive without spacing properly, randomly throw attacks or Issen hoping it hits, spamming throw to the point i even know what the players will do when they get close to their opponent, and spamming jump such Earthquake players. Their character choice also a make me frustasted. There is 16 characters but almost 80% of US tournaments i see genjuro or tam tam and maybe yoshi. The fact they don't want develop the meta and jumping immediatly to 'top tier' without even trying to find other charcters potential. I mean look at ukyo how devasting he is and i'm sure he have great potential but i barely seeing him anymore in recent tournaments. I found out how boring their match after watching four tournaments especially CEO. I stopped watching US match after CEO though i found a match that's a bit better than CEO at VSFIGHTING 2019. I hope EVO is not as bad as CEO.
@@mmsizzlak By the way, i recommend pick the game after EVO to see the game quailty by how the pros playing this game after mastering it's mechanics. If you find out EVO was hype and intense, buy this game if not then don't buy it.
Nobody should be surprised by the difference between American and Asian tournaments. They always were more disciplined, patient and calculated. When it comes to American tournaments it's all about being entertaining and random just doing wild shit and getting wins by scrambles usually.
Waaaaaay better than the American tournaments I’ve seen so far. Even in the first few minutes you can quickly see these guys have an understanding of the game awesome gameplay
