I'm actually not that surprised, Kazuki has I frames when he performs that move so, it looks like the most logical scenario. It was sick though, I agree with you and I didn't know you could do that either but yeah, when you think about it, it makes perfect sense.
i was thinking exactly the same thing, even went back and watched his reveal trailer again cause it was bugging me, i dont know what they are playing the game on, but something is not right
13:10 I'm not sure I agree with the commentator's point here. I mean, it's definitely open to debate but I think most players kinda give more credit to the Issen than they should. Of course, the surprise random Issen works occasionaly but at the end of the day, you're leaving the fate of your entire game to RNG which, can sometimes be a legit line if you're chilling at home but certainly not in a tournament and in the situation Lost soul were in. Honestly, it just feel like a mistaken to me, he just got impascient and has been punished for it. I think a lot of player underhestimate the power of getting +4o% damage when you pop your rage explosion. In the situation Lost soul were, a single combo or a couple good pokes and the game was over, that was far from being lost and he would have kept control of the game until the end.
Aye I'm @TempleNUT! (Commentator with the Pink Shirt in the video) I agree with you that the damage from a low health/immediate Issen can make players overcommit and lose. If you have a read and have conditioned your opponent then I can see Issen as less of a wild card decision and more of a whiffpunish or momentum reversal tool.
@@TempleNUT True but the more I'm watching tournaments, the more I feel like players tend to not get caught by the Issen. It makes sense since you have to rage explode prior to doing it, which, isn't exactly sneaky, it's not like it comes out of nowhere, so, a good player will prepare for it and get ready. So, of course you can't avoid it all the time (I mean, it's still incredibly fast) but I feel like players in tournaments are pretty consistent in avoiding it or forcing it out of their opponent, even. Again, it's fully open to debate, some people will disagree with me and think that holding the Issen too much is a mistake because it gives too much room for your opponent to do whatever he/she wants and that's perfectly fine. It's merely a matter of point of view but I personaly have the feeling that surprise Issens works reasonably rarely in tournaments and may lose more games than it wins. On the side note, you and the other person did a good job at commentating the tournament. That was fun to watch.
@@GenLiu GenLiu Yeah I believe that immediate Issen will become less and less popular over time. I'm glad you enjoyed EX-Reversal. I plan on commentating their for monthly FGC tournament series this year. Too Hype for Granblue😄!
