The first overnight backpack trip of the year! We started our hike at the Forsee Creek Trailhead. We arrived at Trail Fork Springs to unload our packs, set up our tents, and take a lunch break. We then hiked along the ridge to San Bernardino East Peak and then to San Bernardino Peak. We arrived back at camp in the late afternoon in time for dinner. The next day we broke camp and headed down the mountain back to the car. Total mileage for the weekend was ~16.5 miles (10.5 Sat, 6 Sun).
This hike was good training for the High Sierra Trail, which we plan on doing this summer. It was also a good opportunity to test out our new gear.
