I got fired from my job at a disney park because I accidentally left the mic on while discussing abortion with a coworker. Guests heard, they complained and after an investigation I got fired for an honest mistake. People get fired for this kind of stuff all time. Why are you so special to get a second chance when what he did caused a much more bigger embarrassment for the employers than whatever I did. Second, even if you are correct, the impetus is not on the Gay Men's Chorus to modify their behavior based on people's prejudices. It is up to the people who hold bigoted ideas to change. Third, and probably most importantly, the reason why they don't have bicyclists is because this is about SINGING the National Anthem! Why would they have a potential non-singer when the whole idea is to have people whose job it is to sing, like the Gay Men's Chorus, sing the National Anthem?

First of all "what do you expect" is part of the issue in today's society. clearly you share the same ignorant mentality as the people who replaced the track in the first place. Second, this has nothing to do with promoting themselves or raise awareness or acceptance. this was just a gig they were invited to participate, as the sports venue also has "out at the park" days. so this was not some attempt to "convert" people to accept or be ok with it. But it was still a good opportunity to be themselves out in public without fear of societies ignorance (much like yours). Your comment is completely irrelevant and ignorant of the issue at hand as your mind went towards the "acceptance issue and expected actions of gay men doing sporting events" talking as if it should be NORMAL for this to actually happen.
