San Diego is basically a hilly area, they have not invested in storm control like Los Angles, Orange County, and Riverside County.

Where is Todd Snyder of the San Diego storm water department? Why has he not released a statement? How did this happen if there was regular maintenance being done?

They are too busy building more buildings for more people to move in than to take care of our maintenance throughout the city. This is what happens when you want to build and put in all the freeways some more people can come into a high desert area that does not have the resources to support them.

The city don't do a dam thing until something like this happens this is the city's fault they are responsible for the repairs to all these people's homes this is their lively hood this is not right it's wrong the city needs to fix this dam it fix this !😡

Praying 🙏 for the people that were impacted in this. Just horrible that much of the damage could have been prevented if the city had different priorities. Best of luck sir! 🇺🇸

Lady says she's been telling them for 12 years to 'do their job'. I'd probably squawk just like her for a year or so, but after that I'd buy some flood insurance for my house. Knowing/telling them it's gonna happen and then NOT taking the proper precautions yourself in a flood-prone area doesn't seem smart. Buy insurance or sell/move are really the only two smart options there. Staying and not doing that is reckless.

The infrastructure in San Diego has to be one of worst in the nation and looks like Venezuela. For being a very wealthy city, with mostly mild weather, including fat tax dollar revenues, the city has historically neglected its streets, sidewalks, storm drains, water mains, pretty much everything for decades. There are areas in SD where they haven’t fixed a damn thing in 30+ years! And yes, SD is extremely hilly, I don’t think a lot of people realize it. Compared to L.A. and OC, we have way more hilly terrain, but yet a very poorly planned city/county and we’re more like San Fran in many ways. Too many homes are built on steep inclines and in places where if there was ever an huge earthquake or major flooding like we had yesterday, those homes could easily give way and get destroyed.

Romans 2:11 KJV - For there is no respect of persons with God. Isaiah 14:18 KJV - All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. Amos 9:10 KJV - All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us. Acts 2:38 KJV - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

California only has itself to blame. I mean really, who lines their river with concrete (80 years now?) so all that water just flows to the ocean when it can be absorbed into the ground around that river? Who dried up an entire lake just so they can put farms on that land? Thats right California does. And all These idiots cry climate change? That takes some nerves.

This is terrible If we hadn't moved so many people into San Diego and made it a metropolitan area then we may have had the funds to be able to take care of some of the storm drains and to keep the drains open. When will people learn that most of our problems in San Diego are due to politicians and people wanting to grow? We are a high desert City and our water supply is not great so why would you want to grow when there are limited resources. Politicians and out-of-town even out-of-country people have invested in here to make their big money because of our wonderful climate. I wish I could be around for the next 50 years to see how well you have done in destroying Southern California🥲
