He might not be. All he needs is a chance. He's only been in the league for 2 years. Going to Dallas is probably what he needed, a fresh start and a fresh perspective with a different team. Some players grow that way until they become established.

@@fantasyrosa sorry about that. What I meant by fresh start is they downplayed the hostility in the locker room with Trey. Remember Trey was the guy. Kyle gave up the farm to get him and he had a ton of pressure on him and ultimately he lost his job. A fresh start would be getting out of that environment and going into another simpler environment. There’s not a ton of pressure on him right now and Dallas because Dak is the guy, and Cooper has been doing a phenomenal job as back up. So Trey’s job is to learn this year, Dak is definitely going to get hurt so he has to be on his P’s and Q’s in the event that something happens to Cooper. But other than that he is going to be in pretty much laid-back environment, and I think that’s going to be great for him.

You're not much of a 49ers fan if you don't even know that Shanahan didn't want Trey Lance. It was John Lynch that drafted him, since he is the GM and that is what GMs do. Coaches don't control the draft. Stop blaming him for things that are out of his control.

I like Purdy, I also like Lance. I think we can talk about them both without shitting on the other, I just think a value stand point there’s a reason Lance went top 3 and Purdy almost went undrafted. Doesn’t mean they can’t both be incredible, I’d be more likely to put my money on Lance in equal scenarios. It’s fair that Lance hasn’t shown what you want him to up until this point though, I can respect the 9ers making the best decision for their team despite it being potentially unpopular

@@Edog554 the idea with Lance was that he has crazy physical tools that you can’t teach. THAT is the upside, coaches say “I can fix him” and despite what us fans see there actually is a chance a coach can turn him into a super star. I don’t think Purdy has those same physical gifts but after both their careers play out it’s completely possible he’s the better QB. Hell I’ll even agree he’s the better QB right now. But neither of us are football scouts and at the end of the day the professionals are just guessing a bit more than us. Big mistake was trading up and drafting Lance is I think one thing everyone can agree with. I don’t know if this decision is a mistake too but it sure seems like it could be one
