Mask is a Pit Bull/German Shepherd mix that was declared vicious and dangerous in San Francisco in November 2017 after biting at least three persons in a 5-month period. The dog then bit a fourth person just hours after its case was heard on November 16, 2017. The victim was an employee at SFACC. SFACC Executive Director Virginia Donohue personally refused to call another hearing to reevaluate the dog based on that fourth bite. Another hearing would probably have protected the people of San Francisco from still being threatened by this dog.
Under the San Francisco Health Code, San Francisco Animal Care and Control is responsible for monitoring and enforcing all the laws with regard to a dog designated vicious and dangerous, including making sure that the dog is always muzzled and on a 3-foot chain in public and that people know where the dog resides . Clearly, SFACC is doing no such thing with regard to Mask -- or with other dangerous dogs as well.
