One of the best movies ever made---lov this one with Gable and Jeannette---and Tracey--=-----perfect actors for the roles they chose....Great Film......saw it over X# of times.....

I never will forget Jeannette MacDonald, Just to see her there just gives my heart a pang. I never will forget, just how that brave Jeannette, Just stood there in the ruins and sang. And sang..... "San Francisco, open your golden gate....." (Thanks to Judy Garland!)

Esta película está entre las 10 mejores. Que bien la interpretación de Janette MC. Donald, de Clark Gable, S. Tracy, aunque aquí interviene parecido a un segundo plano. El guión y dirección estupendo. No se puede definir con palabras una obra de arte como esta

Channel 11 in the early 1970s used to show this movie often enough, and I only watched it to see scenes with Ted Healy ( he played Gables assistant). And I also watched it for the few scenes that showed the Marx Brothers uncle, Al Shean ( was he really playing the piano, or faking it)?

I was intending to hunt down a Region 2 dvd of this.....and I hope Jeanette MacDonald's singing is less prominent in the film as a whole than it is in this trailer !

Spencer Tracy's role is fairly small - just as well - as the stars would not have had a chance

Great movie. Though poor costume design. For a movie set in 1906 the costumes look like they're straight out of the 1930s.

It's a ridiculous plot. Jeannette wasn't a great actress. But Gable and Tracy are both great. And Jessie Ralph as Mrs. Burley was great. But the best part of the film are the earthquake and fire scenes. They are very realistic. The special effects are fantastic.
