We are a team of two brothers that creates handcrafted knives. From the initial designing and grinding of the steel blanks to the final sanding of the handle, each step of the process is done by hand, which makes every knife that comes out of our shop 100% unique. In all of our blades, we strive to combine the clean lines of modern design with excellent performance, so that your knife will do its job properly and look great in the process.

Not sure I agree with the 120 grit and scotch brite prior to heat treatment just to go back to 60 grit.. but you can’t argue with the result! Very nice looking blade 👍🏻👍🏻 keep it up!
@StarkKnives
@StarkKnives 3 года назад
Thanks! It would probably be okay with going straight from 60 to heat treat. I just have read quite a lot of people who say that deep scratches from coarse belts can sometimes become stress risers and lead to cracks during the quench. It doesn’t take much extra work, so I just do it. Thanks a lot!

Super sick San Mai I wish I could make one of those. I'm just super poor and don't have a proper belt grinder or a ban saw. Someday I'll get there ☺️ but till then I'll learn from you my dude 😎

@omazingbob
@omazingbob 2 года назад
By the way for the rest of you the 1"x 30" belt grinder from harbor freight is not worth it super underpowered and the belts they have are poopcake. But ya like you said I'm just gunna keep working at it I have an anvil and furnace so I might just go that route for now
@ADHDbuilt
@ADHDbuilt 3 года назад
It came out really nice! Quick question, is there much point in drilling out the holes in the handle material when you fill them all again with epoxy while setting the handle?
@StarkKnives
@StarkKnives 3 года назад
Thanks! It makes it so that there is more epoxy to bind the scales to the blade. I don’t know how much of a difference it makes in terms of strength, but it can’t hurt haha!
@zproducts6080
@zproducts6080 3 года назад
@@StarkKnives It is also a great way to reduce weight in the handle! Epoxy isn't nearly as heavy as metal.
@StarkKnives

Another beautiful blade!! Do you use ceramic or aluminum oxide belts on your handles. Also, when smoothing and blending, what grit is your j-flex 1"x72" scalloped belt? Thanks for all the info you include in your videos.
@StarkKnives
@StarkKnives 2 года назад
Usually just worn out ceramics. The scalloped is 220 grit. 👍🏼
