Great interviews mate. If you cannot see looking at his mannerisms & eye projection he is dangerous to cross, you are going to go down before you should've know it was coming. He's a frickin' dirty Harry, but not the good kind, but for good reasons. No offence or disrespect meant... but that is a cold sociopath. 1:04: 15 Game knows game.

I'm a small town girl, but my childhood sweetheart & eventual husband did 5 total in Folsom, then San Quentin & finally Soledad. Because we grew up together, I knew him before incarceration. He was a sweet kid but he came out the equivalent of a war survivor with supressed PTSD. I mean, he was an alpha male but still, CA-max was survival of the fittest. I give props to any guy who can integrate back into society & not return. He did..for 23 years of a very loving marriage. But he reached a point of checking out/suicide. I attribute it to the head injuries from guards etc..no regrets but I miss him every day. LOL I do remember the respect thing. When he first got out, he didn't get how much other guys disrespected each other. He had no problem pulling up young male upstarts who cut in line of someone at the store. I was a calming influence for him, which is one reason he was ok for so long, imho ☺. He did the same with the dr. who procrastinated when I needed an emergency c-section. His special "abilities" saved both my life and our son's.💛. Very proud of him even now...I believe all of our experiences make us the person that we are today. Gotta embrace the good with the bad...

This man has absolutely NO FEAR. This much is obvious, and it is an extremely rare quality. I'm 53 yrs old, I've ever only seen this quality on two other men. It's like they are just born different. Everyone else feel the fear, and has to overcome it or deal with it times of danger. But these two men that I know, they just don't feel it emotionally. I can't explain it. If you've ever known anyone like that, you'll know what I'm talking about. Yet they are not the dull, dead-eyed psycopaths types either. They are nice guys, jovial fellas full of jokes, etc. But people have remarked that they have that "aura". And in times of personal danger, there is a certain look in their eyes. All three of us are martial artists, but these two are just made differently from the rest
@westington1
@westington1 12 дней назад
It’s a split due to trauma, I almost guarantee. Someone abused from a young age, bullied and beaten, especially if that is by a big powerful man when you’re young, well why - when you’ve learned to fight back - would you ever be scared of grown men (and so situations really), when you got used to fear and pain when you were a child. I think people that happens to, have this well of trauma that allows them to feel no fear in what should be scary situations (usually violent), and can both remain calm, but tap into their anger - which is a dead anger - and so commit violent acts without feeling it, or be in scary violent situations and feel calm. It doesn’t fit in with how they naturally are, it developed situationally - so the rest of their personality is often genuinely kind and empathic (also to do with knowing what it’s like to feel pain and fear, so wanting to protect others from it, and generally being emphatic). That’s my take on it, and it does fit with how splits in people emerge. They might get seen as sociopaths, but the difference is that they’re genuine in the ‘nice’ side of their personality, rather than that being a Machiavellian way of thinking
@MaharionPendragon
@MaharionPendragon 12 дней назад
@@westington1 I always thought it was the way their amigdala developed. I studied & researched it becos I always thought & admired this about these two guys, how useful this quality is. I mean, there could be a fight breaking out, people are shouting & freaking out, and these two just sit there with me, watching & going back to their drink or food. No real reaction whatsoever! I must emphasize that they are not dead-eyed psycopaths, their amygdalas just do not produce a fear response. It's weird, and useful at the same time. Anyone who's been in any violent confrontation would have felt it: our hearts would be thumping in our chest, we'd be breathless. Not these guys. How I wish I had the same. Joe Rogan spoke about it several times that he knows one or two people exactly like this. So very rare.
@westington1
@westington1 12 дней назад
@@MaharionPendragon Some people are born with something like that yeah, but it’s very rare. I’ll be honest I was talking about my own experience of myself, and some of the people I grew up around growing up in east London. I didn’t want to say it was me, cos I don’t want to be judged basically - but you seem to be open-minded. I had fear kicked, beaten, and just generally had been in so many violent and dangerous situations (a lot came from going to football as well, which was / is still in some areas, chaos in England, that it just came not to bother me, I knew a few people that were similar growing up, older people with power in the community. They were really nice, kind and not psychopathic, but their reputation for excessive violence had been well established by maybe just over a couple of decades, but the time I came of age. I found I just wanted bothered by things kicking off, or having to do violent things. But I realty was empathetic and cared for others…….but if you was at it, you’re fair game. Anyway, as I grew up and grew away from a life of violence (certainly fully by my mid twenties), I always wanted to work it all out. I studied psychology and eventually became a psychotherapist (what psychiatrists do in America), I came to understand that people can be exposed to so many heightened situations over and over (and from all different backgrounds: criminal ones, or military etc), and don’t feel what others would feel in stressful situations. Hard to come to terms with that and consider yourself a nice person, but it’s just a split. One part of yourself gets cut off from the main personality, but people can go into their split (the violent, or not phased by violence part), and then come right out. It’s like a switch, that’s always there - but it doesn’t define you nor stop the kind and gentle side being genuine.

“Predation triggered by weakness,” John Abbott How would you apply that in a professional setting? At the office, on the job, etc. Thanks.

Absolutely. In every sphere some people smell weakness and exploit that.

Happens all the time, everywhere. People detect weakness, they take advantage. In prison, that is taken to the extreme

I saw that docu where the tribesmen take the lion's meat, I think it was a BBC production. Being locals, they obviously they have a good idea how and where to snag a picnicking lion. Once sighted, their trick is to assemble into single file formation and jog toward the lion. At first glance to the lion it apparently perceives one big entity weaving toward it, scarpers and gives up its meal. You might think at some point the lions would get wise but they evidently fall for the same trick every time. Although I doubt the tribesmen are daft enough to play the same card every day; it's probably a last resort grocery shopping technique. Brilliantly resourceful, aye.

I wish j could take my stories from jail, prison and the streets and multiple rehabs and detoxes to Shaun's podcast! Not for the popularity or likes, but just for the chance to tell stories. The only place people have let me tell stories is in jail and prison and rehab and detox. I guess it's only when people have time on their hands that they want to hear you. Otherwise, people don't have time.
