I played the game for 8.9 hours straight. I finished it in one sitting. I do not regret a moment of it.

This game is amazing. Feels like a what if spiderman game but cyberpunk. They have a unique boss that you can't "defeat", The Overseer. The complain I had in this game is that The Overseer boss feels annoying with it's "racing against time" thing. Still defeatable, just not that much fun compared to other stages. Another complain is that this game *spoiler ahead Doesn't have a final boss. Though the game is amazing, no boss at the end of the game when all chapter have their own boss is just doesn't feel "right". But it's not a major issues, doesn't break immersion or anything.

I really wish there was a level where you shut down the reactor though, seems like a missed opportunity to have that happen offscreen.

To me fighting major Song felt like the final boss. Everything after that was just a really nice bonus.

I feel like a lot of the criticisms only are in effect if you just completely ignore the story there can't be a final boss because the emotional climax the game was going for at the end as for the overseer I completely disagree the sense of tension and relief makes an incredibly fun boss fight.

It will. It's just as good. Katana zero is really good though so it might not hit as hard because of you already had that standard. But it's definitely equal in quality.

Sanabi is great and certainly full of more content but it's arguable if it's better than katana zero. For me personally no game hit as hard as KZ. And due to the nature of bother Games. KZ actually has a world that can be fleshed out. Sanabi suffers from its story halting all gameplay and pacing. Alongside more noticable designs issues

I've played both. The combat is far more interesting and challenging in KZ but the story is extremely short and shallow (a lot of it is just making V an awful person but refusing to let you kill him). SANABI has much easier combat (with some EXTREMELY challenging boss fights) but a much longer, richer, more emotional story. If it doesn't hook you (lol) by the time you reach Mago City about an hour in, don't bother.

What possessed them to make the player character and npcs like 0.01% of the screen real estate, while the rest of it is wasted space, like literally just a black void. How are you supposed to get emotionally invested in characters you can't even see? Do the developers have a big emotional attachment to ants?

Yep it does! Your health increases super fast.

The difference between each difficulty is only for HP regeneration. Easy: practically immortal Normal: HP restore to full after few seconds not getting hit Hard: HP restore a bit after not getting hit Legend: one hit and game over. Nothing more nothing less.

I can kinda agree with this review though I wished you would've covered of why the story is good the action platforming part goes without saying and many games have done this style of gameplay very well I think the defining aspect of this game is the story and how it tackles it.

Small indie studios typically only have enough resources to support 1 or 2 platforms at launch. Maybe once they start making more money on initial sales, you can expect it to get ported to other platforms, but indie devs are most likely going to prioritize Switch since it's a more thriving platform.

The largest criticism I have towards this game is that the level design feels very lacking. It reminds me of super meatboy, which also had uninspired levels.

I beg to differ. The level designs imho is pretty good, challenging enough for good players and not unachievable for less dex players. The stage where you had to switch between bots were kind of puzzle solving as well.

Man this game's pacing is seriously hurt by the story. It's like you idle and start talking, I think the first time Marie tells you her plan in that special sequence and after you finish the car section are the longest you idle.

A platformer gets a 9 for it's story when nobody cares about story... Hollow knight barely had a story.... Yet they give an amazing game like gunbrella a mediocre score smh
