The problem is with religion. Superstitious belief and religion are intertwined and you cannot separate the two. Religious belief leads to an irrational view of the world. The Soviets understood that very well, but you cannot control people's thoughts and many are gullible unfortunately.

I have stopped listening halfway through your video. A shoddy presentation without substantial evidence. Very casual and cursory, and you are in a foregin country. Shocking! 1. Once a rationalist are you always a rationalist despite new evidence showing up some startling details. If you stick to your guns despite the evidence you are also indulging in superstition. In such a case you have formed a prori conclusions without following where the evidence leads you. This is one of the major setbacks in his argument against miracles. 2. For a man who believes in thorough investigations many of the cased you cite lack scientific scrutiny. Just one or examples will suufice here. You narrated the incident of the Hugging Prietess and the indomitable Khuswant Singh. The man said he had an erection at 86. So what was it all about? Was it real? Did you ask Khuswant about it? Did you mean it as a joke? If you did it did not wash. Perhaps your language inadequacy is the problem here. Next, you talked about a neither eating nor drinking for seversl days. Your investigation here is so childish it is laughable. Who is this man? Did he make any religious claims? How would real medical experts view his position. Why did not you pay close attention to what the first medical teport suggedtef. 3) The most baffling thing about your report you seem to concentrate on only the magical details or miraculous claims. While I acknowledge this is useful to form s impression, why did not you speak about their religious beliefs, philosophies and so on. 4. You tend to give a certain impression that all the holy men are mere tricksters. How many have you studied , scrutinised and placed under your rationalistic lens? Does it cover the entire universe. 5. Just like empiricism, faith , rationalism is just another school of thought. Reason nor sciece can have all the anseers. It is just not just rational to think that way. This subject is too large. The Enlighten period and the birth of rationalism is a part of our growing understanding. But let us not hang on to our beliefs against reasonable doubts.

I need a source, because that's how you find out the truth. So, answer the question. Certainly, some herbs do have medicinal properties. Which herbs they are and whether they are used properly, is a different matter. The question is what evidence there is for "curing disease with help of Ayurveda & Yoga". Even if some herbs have medicinal properties and herbs are used in Ayurveda, that does not lend credence to the system as a whole, which encompasses more than just the use of herbs.

If they are getting better and it's not just a coincidence, or caused by something else that they're doing or have stopped doing. Unfortunately, these things more often than not turn out to be complete scams.

But Yoga definitely cures a lot of diseases. Even rhythmic breathing will treat so many diseases that you can't even imagine. My AOL instructor in Stanford (Emma Seppala) is doing research on effects of meditation and breathing on Iraq returned American veterans. Read. Moreover, my "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" was treated perfectly by Ayurveda.

I have no idea about Yoga but Ayurveda is based on scientific principles. For Instance, Cataract surgery is first believed to be conducted by Sushruta, an Indian ayurveda practitioner. Ayurveda is by all means a medical science, nothing supernatural.

Far fewer die, than with traditional medicine. And unlike traditional medicine, it is very effective at treating cancer and it is getting better every day. I don't understand why you feel a need to lie about modern medicine. Would you like to explain?

Being a fraud is not a matter of opinion. Either it works or it doesn't and if it doesn't and the doctor knows it, he's a fraud. If it doesn't work but he doesn't know it, he's incompetent. If it works and he doesn't know it, he's a lucky fraud. If it works and he knows it, he better have the facts to back it up.

Baba Ramadev, popularise the Yoga amongst the people. At least we should thank him for his noble purpose? I have practised Yoga and cured my ailments... In India, lot of research work is going on Yoga and treatment is also undertaking in many hospitals. The prominent schools of yoga in South is Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhan Sanstha - SYVASA of Bangalore. It is run by the highly qualified people. You can check the same in web. It is really disgusting he is spreading misinformation....
