On Monday morning around 9:40am CHP and OCFA responded to reports of a multi vehicle crash on the North Bound 5 Freeway On Ramp at Avenida Palizada. Preliminary reports say that the tow truck driver swerved into the emergency lane striking a CalTrans truck then struck the CalTrans employee killing him. The CalTrans truck came to a rest on top of a Nissan Suv. 2 other people sustained minor to moderate injuries unknown if they were transported to a local hospital. CHP had the on ramp and slow lane closed for most of the day while they conducted their investigation. More info and details to be added this afternoon.
