Everytime when I'm looking at churches or see one from the inside, I'm often amazed how impressive, detailed and well done they are build. Considering the possibilities and tools back then, it is truly masterful! Sadly something like that will be not build anymore, but instead lifeless obscene buildings. Buildings in general are ugly these days. Some decades ago, there was at least the rule to build only certain buildings to preserve the cultural look. But that rule went out of the window, as it seems. Salat of ugly buildings and sometimes old ones in between.
I completely agree with you. Though I'm not religious, I do like the old church architecture and music. They were indeed impressive works of art and craftmanship - which is why I'm making these reconstructions, as it allows me to study this architecture in detail.
