SAND AND SURF- New Zealand North Island 

Enjoyed this installment much more than the previous ones, Nadine. Giving us a few comments about what is going on locally, and why you found it interesting makes for a better vblog than just looking at panoramics.

I never get tired of watching you, Nadine! I subscibed back in '07 and you were one of my very first subsciptions. I got really into the youtube scene and started watching a lot of people. I've kinda drifted away from youtube but anytime I come by and see you have a new video i HAVE to watch it. =] There is something about your quirkiness and energy that I can't get enough of.

one of the best videos and seen, fortunately, was worth the wait

"Left Hand Break" is a surfing term referring to the side in which a wave begins to crash. Judging from the waves I see in the video, the wave break is defined from the perspective of the surfer facing the beach. From the beach looking out, a left wave will break from right to left. And honestly I was only able to surmise this because I just finished watching the movie Apocalypse Now (war movie) in which there is a few lines of dialogue about how the waves are breaking, lol. The more you know!

I am so jealous! That is the place where they filmed the beach scene in Narnia: Prince Caspian. I am glad you are having fun!

Narnia looks even more awesome knowing that the beach is real. I figured they just green screened the parts where the kids were walking and animated the rest. It's beautiful there, I'm jealous.

At hot water beach, you have to wait till low tide, then boiling water starts streaming out of the sand by itself. We made some pools at midnight last time I was there. :D

It's amazing how beautiful new zealand is. Makes me want to go there when I get enough money to actually travel outside the US.

That native Maori dance was being done to a piece of music that sounded suspiciously like 'my guy' of 'the supremes' fame. It must be a tradition of theirs to dance to motown.

Nice job! Great scenery and action. Too bad you cant use the motion control feature when out in the field, The shaking camera is a bit distracting. But, a great video overall. Love the postcard scene changes...

New Zealand is so lucky.

Nadine, you did not explain, so I will. The Maori dance performed by the boys is a Haka, traditionally intended to intimidate an enemy tribe. Today it is used by the NZ All Blacks rugby team before a match to supposedly intimidate their opponents.
