You guys are having too much fun 😄 I've met many people who blindly trust the GPS and couldn't read a paper map to save their life...usually the same people who can't turn around in a parking lot without getting stuck lol! The lack of common sense and "responsibility" these days is astounding

Mike is the perfect "Ed McMahon" to Rory's "Johnny Carson" in this dramatic comedy show we enjoy as "Trail Mater". Both of their senses' of timing and their expert understanding of the landscape in which they work make it possible for them to play off from each other. Both are totally capable and both are totally comfortable in each other's company. Ed, of course, always defers to Johnny and allows him to score the 'big chuckle'. Well done!

Rory- I love your humour !!! Old school will work our way through things and persevere - "electronic dependent" will "shush" people riding with them when directions are electronically given- How do we cut the cord from the GPS to have it give "Suggestions" and by god - we use our head and make the final call ! Siri doesn't know your favourite colour- google doesn't know if you've met your dream other- so don't empower GPS that it "knows" the route safely !!! Great video as always Rory ! Shout out to Mike for the angles of the camera :)

what a super rad area, so beautiful and so neat to see the trees among the dunes. Your GPS PSA was on point Rory. People gotta take ownership that if they venture off pavement the results could be as bad as fatal. your 6x6 with the Dodge looks rad. Plus the SxS are getting so big and heavy having a full flatbed on you and omitting the trailer makes perfect sense. I can't wait for this build! I am an avid disliker of anything Ford. Rory, I appreciate your candor and how much more comfortable you’ve become with sharing your voice in front of and behind the camera. When I first started watching you it was all about the truck and the terrain. You were just the quiet, gruff, and slightly awkward operator. I hope you realize how much sharing your work, life, family, and personality helps connect you with your audience. Keep up the great work. It’s been fun to see your channel and business grow. Just don’t ever change, I still love the slightly gruff and awkward operator who now more readily speaks his mind. I don’t think I’m alone in stating that it’s very entertaining. @8:56 speaking about GPS- Youi have to combine GPS with COMMON SENSE when in remote areas. I live in South Africa, got lost in the Northern Cape Province between 2 towns, approximately 220 kilometers from each other on dirt roads. I had GPS, which took me on a wild goose chase, BUT my common sense left me and with hindsight the alarm bells were there from when I started going wrong, but I ignored it. I got lost for 3 hours, had a flat at 09:00 in the morning and had to change the tire with the temperature at 30 degrees Celsius at 09:00. Like Rory said, very politely, do not let GPS override your common sense. Go explore and God bless.

The fact that he can power or un-power any axle should take care of that situation. Maybe an air-bag that would raise the rear axle up when needed might be a good idea. You do have a point, when driving a road grader with the diff lock on, it is VERY hard to steer. They can cheat though and articulate to steer. LOL

We built a 400 small block Chevy and ditched the 400 rods in favor of a Scat rotating assembly with longer rods. With ported Dart heads and a mild performance cam, this would produce 515 lb ft of torque with 400ish HP, which would pull a medium weight wrecker around just fine. It's no big block but will get the job done. Don't worry about what everyone says. Build it the way you build it.

I however always had my map aswell and checked my days route before starting my day, then commonsense is the most important rule. Oh and for high vehicles. That height restriction sign is there for a purpose read it and if you don’t know your height, turn around. Enough preaching to the masses. I LOVE the comments on “RESPONSIBILITY”, the brand name on a motor that works and you could get parts at a “liquor store” hahaha, and the ending just because the phone/iPad “tells you something” it does not mean you have to listen NOR believe it!!! But the best part, was about the truck that your family has passed back-and-forth, means something to you, and that after 593K miles it works great!!! AND, I wonder why that might be, with an ace that can do anything with a piece of metal in the family! Great video, thanks a ton, love your comaradery!!!! FUN! Wisconsin
